  1. I missed not being there with all of you, but I was very much needed at Jacque's and was glad I got her squared away! I thought George did a great job with the pictures and it looked like you guys had a great time! It was good "seeing" everyone if not in person!
  2. Here's the latest update. If you were planning on staying at our house, let us know Attendees staying at our place as far as we know are: Sleeperhawk (George) Riderduke (David) Mini-muffin (Margaret) Painterman67 (David) and wife Laura Venturing Sole (DAVID) Blackjack (Terry) Additional people riding with this group Saturday from Columbia: Pecker (Dave) (aka Dave38x) Wanderer (Ted) Aamcotrans (Rob) and wife
  3. GO LONGHORNS!!!!!
  4. Sleeperhawk got the fitting from Pecker today and this evening after a couple of reruns, got the temp fitting tightened down with NO LEAKS!!! He ran the bike and got the temp up to 205 and the fan kicked on so he knows that the engine did get hot enough. Check out all the guages working like a champ! Sleeperhawk gives very special thanks to Ponch for the parts and instructions (oh, and a couple of phone calls), to Wanderer for helping with the electrical portion, and to Pecker for getting the special fitting in such a short period of time and for grimacing when Sleeperhawk was drilling into the fairing. :bighug:
  5. Ted, you can bring your sleeping bag and crash in the bunkhouse or somewhere on the floor n the house!!!
  6. Thanks Margaret, but I think I will have everything under control. That is, before I leave! Just make sure the partying doesn't get too out of hand should the neighbors have to call the law!
  7. Please accept my humblest apolgogies, David! I guess my fingers ran out of steam from typing the two Davids above your name so they took a shortcut. You will always have a special spot reserved in the bunkhouse! P.S. Please note correction in the thread!
  8. I need to know, please, how many are coming to our house to spend the night for Savannah M&E the weekend of November 14. I believe both bedrooms are already spoken for (parties please confirm);:draming:The big couch is reserved for Riderduke:whistling: and I think Mimi's going to crash out on the smaller couch. The bunkhouse is available, just bring sleeping bags as we have four or five air mattresses, as well as blankets and pillows! I want to be sure to have everything ready as much as I can before I leave for Alabama that Thursday evening. I will not be here to supervise! so it needs to run as smooth as silk for Sleeperhawk so he can enjoy!. Attendees staying at our place as far as we know are: Sleeperhawk (George) Riderduke (David) Painterman67 (David) and wife Laura Venturing Sole (DAVID) Stoker ace (Mike) and wife Denise aamcotrans (Rob) and wife Clare Mini-muffin (Margaret) Additional people riding with this group Saturday from Columbia: Pecker (Dave) (aka Dave38x) Wanderer (Ted) Barend and wife Brenda So please update this list! I want to be sure that George will have plenty of STRONG coffee on hand! I'll miss you guys :crying:but know I am doing the right thing helping Jacque that weekend.
  9. Sleeperhawk has the volt meter wired and it is working. Picture of instrument panel showing volt meter and oil pressure guage with bike running!!! Wanderer came over this morning to mount his tire on the bike and Sleeperhawk assisted him! Got all the greasing done, etc. and tire was mounted. Then Wandered assisted Sleeperhawk with putting electrical wiring back into the fairing. When Wanderer and Patricia started to leave, they discovered the car battery was dead, so Sleeperhawk help jump start the car! With the tank off, Sleeperhawk went ahead and changed the plugs. Sleeperhawk ran the temperature line to the engine but ran into a small leaking problem. Pecker just happened to come by a little while ago and is going to see what fitting he can get tomorrow, an 18mm x 1.5 that fits the temperature sending unit. Soo, we are finished for the night. At least I had a chance to get my hands dirty, cleaning around where I could! "quote by kj4v - How much time?,and cost?" The time is not yet over as Sleeperhawk spent the weekend working on his bike as well as Wanderer's bike, but off and on all weekend. As far as the cost goes, Ponch has yet to let us know how much it is going to cost! Sleeperhawk spent $30.00 for the guages at Auto Zone.
  10. Sleeperhawk has fed the oil line down and is in the process of connecting the line to the bike. Really good going so far! Sleeperhawk just started up the bike with the oil pressure line hooked up and it works! The first oil pressure guage shot is with the choke on and the last is at idle!:happy65: Wanderer came over just a while ago and is working on getting the drive shaft lined up. A few pictures this morning! A little chilly outside though! (well, for here anyway!)
  11. Aww, we will be in Alabama next weekend, would have loved to have had you guys here! Maybe next time?!!!!
  12. Winding down for the night. Sleeperhawk has the instrument panel wired, in place and bolted down. Next step is getting everything hooked up to the bike, but right now it is time to relax. Tomorrow will be the rest of the story!
  13. Sleeperhawk said to tell you he is doing his best and he will be more than happy to help ya. And he wants you to do your own drilling!!! PS. Dave38X changed his name to Pecker (for really real!)
  14. David, it's almost as if you were here, your instructions are sooo good!!! The panel looks really good on the bike! Sleeperhawk has the instrument panel fitted to the bike and is beginning on the wiring portion right now! Wanderer and Patricia had to leave after lunch so he will be back later today or tomorrow to finish up with the tire and mounting it on the bike! Here's some updated photos!
  15. Sleeperhawk is in the process of installing his new instrument panel. He had painted it this week and it really looks good! Pecker came over to help and supervise. Wanderer and Patricia came by a little while ago to get the rear tire removed and Ted was taking it to town to get a car tire mounted on the rim. He just got back and they are in the process of putting it back on the bike. More pictures to come later! (By the way, Sleeperhawk cringed at the first drilling into the front panel!)
  16. I am so sorry, Riderduke, I thought he recognized you too. Ahem, Riderduke (David) was most defintely present and I believe Mini-Muffin (Margaret) was already recognized!!!
  17. We had Ladybug69 (Wendy), Bugfish69 (Jim), aamcotrans (Rob), Venturing Sole (Dave) all from Virginia and Wanderer (Ted) who lives here in Columbia! We had a great time!!!!
  18. Rob, remember your Schampa ski mask that we made a special trip to the Biker flea market on Saturday so you would be warm on Sunday? Well, it's still here, safe and sound for ya, unless you send me your email address! It was great meeting you and hope you will come back soon! Riderduke, you did good in wanting to come down south! It was great seeing everyone and look forward to it again soon! Thanks for making our weekend super special (weekends are always special!)!!!
  19. I am a little late in posting this; I guess because I don't know how to handle not taking a lot of pictures at the Barber's Motorsports Park Meet and Eat. It was rainy while we were there, so I didn't take my camera. But we met Pick and Redbeard at Cracker Barrell Saturday morning. Then Blackjack and Randyr joined us there for breakfast. One of our stops, I found some Blackjack gum for Blackjack! I think he liked it!!!! Pick and Redeard were unable to come with us because of a prior commitment so off we went to Birmingham. The vintage show was great; there were a lot of vendors with a LOT of old parts and some really neat old bikes! We got to watch old vintage bike races and unfortunately while we were there, three bikes crashed, all in the same area. The slick track may have had something to do with it. The riders appeared to be alright, except one walked to the ambulance. We had the fun of watching stunts on the Wall of Death - I have attached a clip of one that I found, (its not the same group we saw), but it will give you an idea of what they do! They had go carts going around as well! Really cool! [ame=http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-1425957770881170950]Wall of Death Motorcycle Stunt[/ame]# We rode around the park on the tram and then it was time to meet my daughter Jacque at the Bass Pro Shop right next door! Wow, that is a really cool store (I have never been in one!)!!!! We left there to eat at Jim N Nicks in Trussville and enjoyed some really great BBQ!!! Great company, great time by all!!!
  20. As much time and effort you have spent on so many bikes, it is so heartwarming to hear of you getting this bike. It is truly a gift of love and I know you love having it! No apologies needed, Brad!
  21. This is a two-minute video of a soldier being greeted by his dogs after returning home after 14 months in Iraq. Have tissues handy. http://blogs.chicagotribune.com/news_columnists_ezorn/2008/10/via-rich-miller.html#
  22. You and your family are always in our thoughts and prayers. Bobbie and George
