First good ride on the new venture today.
royalstar09 replied to royalstar09's topic in Watering Hole
Yeah I twisted the rpms up between gears pretty high I thought (5,000). Not sure where a good shift point is but that was working well. I used the cruise momentarily, but being new on bike I cancelled quickly, just wanted to feel how the cruise reacted. I will be putting quite a few miles on this week hopefully. -

I am fortunate. Wife has never said anything about what I spend. She has seen me "polish turds" and make good money, so their is a lot of trust their. I have pipes, ign cover, spare power outlet (for special project), shorter windshield, license plate lights, and few other small things on the way. nothing I own is ever "done" -
What a nice bike. I was slightly nervous at first. The ride is great. Handles good. Felt a little "light" in the front end to me for some reason, but I am sure that will go away. Has pretty good power for a big bike. Definetly needs pipes though.........

It is inside next to the headlight. Its fastened with 3m tape or equivelant, wires are zip tied. Its aprox 3" X 1 1/2" maybe 1" tall. Here is the pic I found by quick search. When you said garage door opener it seemed logical and bingo. here it is. Thank you so much. I can remove it next time I am in their. http://ridersdiscount.com/forum/flash_2_pass/flash_2_pass_motorcycle_garage_door_remote_system_2.jpg http://ridersdiscount.com/forum/flash_2_pass/flash_2_pass_motorcycle_garage_door_remote_system_3.jpg

I have this little black box hooked into my headlight wires. It is an obvious aftermarket, or add on. It simple is a 2 wire little black something with no name on it, the two wires go from this llittle box to the ground and I think high beam power wire at the headlight. It has scotch lock style fasteners so I know it is not factory. Just cannot imagine how something that has nothing but 2 wires coming out of it "tagged onto" the headlight wires does anything, but I know its not put there for looks LOL Again the headlight wires are NOT cut and this thing put in as something the power is running through, it is simply tagged into the wires by use of scotchlocks which I do not like.

I bought it from Big St Charles motorsports. It was just traded in on a new Harley. Title was from Illinois, one owner. If I am understanding this correctly maybe the origoinal owner had it listed for sale somewhere??

Are you going to the bike expo this weekend. Wife and I are considering coming that way. We bought our 09 from Big St Charles Motorsports last Tuesday.

New CPR Training, "no mouth to mouth"
royalstar09 replied to FuzzyRSTD's topic in Safety and Education
I have studied, and like this concept a LOT...... we have not, as of yet, incorporated it into our program, but I can tell you I am not as focused on immediate airway as I used to be. I carry a barrier which is disposable and goes in my keyring if my med bag is not available. A normal breath is such a small amount of used O2 that doing good, proper, affective compressions allows enough O2 in without the "risk" of mouth to mouth. All that being said if I am not 100% certain or cardiac issues I am tossing an oral airway in after checking for any obstructions and if its a child all bets are off, they get the book thrown at them. With the introduction of the auto pulse and this new method i thinkthe numbers will soar in how many recover from cardiac issues. I am fortunate enough to be able to visit with three people I performed CPR on out of 5 we were called out to in 2010. -
Tell me about it. We had anywhere from 18-22" depending on where you measured.

http://www.wgem.com/category/176396/-wgem-honor-flight SCROLL DOWN THE LINK..... their are 6 videos. Video 2 shows a short clip of the escort. Take the time and watch all 6, you will never be the same. I rode in one of the escorts. You have to watch these videos. It is such an honor to escort this bus from St Louis NON-STOP to Quincy Il. Missouri Highway patrol, Illinois Highway patrol, and every local law enforcement and or fire department blocks, and or escorts through every stop light, stop sign, or anything that could interrupt this bus. It literally never stops. Every overpass has bikes lined up and getting into the formation to do their part. If anyone ever gets a chance to ride this escort, please do. Come this way from St Louis area and you are welcome to stay at my place for the night to keep from traveling back in the dark. THIS SUMS UP THE ESCORT BACK http://www.wgem.com/global/video/flash/popupplayer.asp?ClipID1=5194647&h1=WEB%20EXTRA%3A%20WWII%20vets%20return%20back%20to%20Quincy%20%28Honor%20Flight%20IV%29&vt1=v&at1=News&d1=895567&LaunchPageAdTag=Food Recipe&activePane=info&rnd=99411461

I looked hard, maybe the wrong way. I searched Mo and Missouri yielding tons of post that have the word Mo or Missouri, none of which were people that mau be close to me. Just post in general containing the words somewhere. Have not found a member search option yet.

This is one of many videos we run. Sort of puts things in perspective when coming upon a emergency scene on the roadways and are especially dangerous for bike riders. People are focused on whats going on and not what is in front of them. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EQxZClobIdU&feature=related]YouTube - "It's no Picnic"[/ame]

I searched for Missouri in hopes it would yield some members close to me, but did not that I could find. I am in North East Missouri. New London specifically, Hannibal is my neighboring town most are familiar with. Looking forward to some nice rides with my wife this year. Would be great to ride along with some other Venture riders.

Does anyone here sell them? If not which one is a good one to start with? I searched and searched and found tons of dvds calling themselves ride like a pro. Id like to use what is recommended by the members here.

electroluminescent dash light
royalstar09 replied to royalstar09's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Nope these bikes do NOT have bulbs. They have a electroluminescent sheet which to this point from what I have researched has kep anyone from changing their backlight color. I am hopeing to be able to offer a way to change the colors if people choose. -

nothing wrong with it. Changing the backlight color from the factory white, to blue.
