  1. From experience: Yes - it is worth it to drain it down a little. I used to fill mine to the mid point in the window and it makes a mess in the air intake. Oil will seep out, usually on the left side, down the sides of the carbs. To clean you have to pull the tanks and the plastic air runners on top of the carbs.
  2. There are a couple of guys who mounted an additional trunk to match the upper one in the same manner as the cargo rack. Still will need lights. There is always the discussion of whether or not the license plate is visible or needs to be visible
  3. The high end GPS and blue tooth headsets, maybe?
  4. Safari at home and Chrome at work - no problems
  5. You should be just fine. I just put the "30" on mine last week
  6. I had hydro lock once. Left rear cylinder filled with fuel and luckily the piston was at the top of its travel so no damage. I shut the fuel off EVERY time since then.
  7. If you are using a swivel I am guessing you are removing the plugs with the fuel tank in place? If so, it may help to pull the tank first to make it easier
  8. E3's front and rear. Got 'em from Jake Wilson
  9. Sarge, I think the bolt under the saddlebag has to come out from above, right? As I recall one has to remove the saddlebags which is no big deal, only four bolts for each one.
  10. Puc, Try a little Sea Foam on your cereal in the morning. Seriously, hope they figure it out!

  12. I'm looking for trunk rack also. CarbonOne, I don't plan to paint or powder coat. I like chrome!
  13. Jake Wilson has been the best spot for me. Ship quick with low prices
  14. "instead of getting that list of hardware at HD or lowes, why can't I just get this??" I think I paid around $25.00 for the 42S at a local O Reilly auto parts store and your links show a higher price. The hardware is needed to connect the fuel lines and still keep the location of the new pump in the same area on the bike as the original fuel pump. If not already stated, with this pump you will need to be get in the habit of turning off the fuel at the petcock when you turn the bike off. There is another aftermarket pump mentioned in other posts you can use that does not require turning off the fuel
  15. As ACE suggested - if they are stock mufflers with the original tips they are adjustable. If aftermarket we can maybe help,if we know the manufacturer

30,000+ on a MR Gasket. Just have to be sure to turn fuel off every time
  19. There is a nice new Bass Pro 1 1/2 to 2 hours north of Decatur in East Peoria (I74) if you end up on that road when you head to Rock Island. If you like motorcycle museums there is nice one (National Motorcycle Museum) less than a mile from J&P
  20. The V8 was cool but there was a V12 created by the same guy. Two inline 6's stuck together
  21. It's hard to say this and I can't even believe I am even thinking it of a Venture or Tour Deluxe, but that is ugly!
  22. Just changed my rear pads for the first time at 31,000. Fronts still have half or better left. I did switch the rear side to side once at around 20,000 to even them out
  23. The difference in the links is 1/4 inch shorter than stock to increase the rear height by one inch. There is a write up in the tech section that provides the dimensions
  24. I have had the same type of fuse and the same meltdown occur on my garden tractor. It was caused by the same poor connection at the fuse as MikeWa mentioned. No short further down line, just the heat buildup in the fuse box
  25. The dealer in tomahawk Wi has a 2013
