Thanks everyone for the advice, I think I will keep shopping around, like several have said if I have some doubt I should not buy even if it is a good deal. I had replaced my stator and R/R two years ago with the high output ones from Buckeye and about 3 months ago I had a R/R go bad so I bought another one from Buckeye and it was bad out of the box (undercharging), so he sent me a new one and it lasted about 500 miles before it started overcharging so he sent me another one and it has been on the bike for a day now will see how it works out.

I am thinking about a new bike and really disappointed in the choices out there across the board.

Came in from the garage the other day really frustrated at my bike (charging issues) and my wife told me to just go buy a new one. I have looked at several other bikes including Harley Ultras, Victory both the Cross Country and the Vision, Indian Chief, Voyager, ST1300, Concourse and Gold Wing but none of those seem to fit me and my wife as well as the Venture. The issues I have is since a new Venture would be exactly like my 99 I would be paying mostly for a 5 year warranty an ipod and a different color and of course everything working properly. I have found a leftover new 2012 for 14900, not sure if that is a good price or not but I just can't seem to bring myself to pull the trigger. I have not totally discounted Wings but have not found one with a seat yet that would comfortably fit both he the wife and me. Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated.

We rode abut 300 miles Saturday and I am looking forward to getting up your way since the weather has started turning nice. I like riding year round but flat roads can get boring sometimes.

I tried some new stuff last time to fix a crack in one of my lowers called Plastic Weld it's a putty made by JB Weld and has held up real well so far.

My local dealer matches all web prices and they stock them so I usually pick them up there. Ask yours if they match the worse they can say is no.

I was thinking about selling mine and doing the same thing as you and I was thinking I would be lucky to get 4K out of it with 55K miles on it but I would not sale my trailer. You can get a leftover 12 right now for 15 to 18K. I just have a real hard time having a bike payment when I have not had one in so long.

I am with Brian, my wife says the aftermarket shield puts more wind on her than the stock. A Corbin seat will raise you up so you may block some wind off of her.
