    Can't say I have ever had that happen, not sure why someone would be so childish.

    I would go with the R/R I just went through several overcharging but I have an on board voltage meter so I was able to catch it before it toasted my battery and anything else. After you get a new battery fire it up and see what it's putting out if it's too high the R/R is your culprit.

    This is still around, got another call today I actually irritated the guy enough for him to call me an A hole. I told him thanks I try real hard and he hung up. Bottom line beware of this scam.

    Guess I have an issue too because both of mine click every time I turn them on and have ever since I owned them, guess I got some bad dope sorry for spreading misinformation I could have sworn I had read that somewhere before but I am old and forgetful so who knows.

    Had been thinking about putting a trailer hitch on mine but maybe now I should rethink that.

    When you say headset cord do you mean you cut one off a pair of headsets? If so I would try a new cord first. Unless it was an expensive set of headphones those cords are not the greatest when it come to repurposing.

    The pump is gone to click for 5 seconds regardless if the bowl is full or not when you first turn it on you just don't always hear it it will be more noticable if the fuel is low or has been off.

    I have troubleshoot a stator whine three times (different bikes) in the last two years and the culprit all three times has been the three bolts that hold the stator have come loose and it is vibrating against the rotor. I have found that you really need to clean the bolt holes and the bolts for the Loctite to adhere well.

    Since that is the only lead that is bad the toggle switch should work just remember to turn it off each time. I also like DJH3's fix

    It's Part #6 in the link: http://www.partzilla.com/parts/search/Yamaha/Motorcycle/2006/ROYAL+STAR+MIDNIGHT+VENTURE+-+XVZ13TFMV/ELECTRICAL+1/parts.html I would jumper them on the switch side of the connector, Connecting a wire across both wires before the plug would probably be the easiest if you are comfortable doing it. I have also took jumper leads and connected Red,Brown/Black,Brown/Blue together and Blue/Yellow,Blue/Black together on the wiring harness side just for a test to verify a bad switch.

    The Blue/Black feeds the ignitor unit, so I am inclined to say your switch is bad it's not the tumbler that is causing the loss of contact. If you feel comfortable with it you could jumper those two wires and see if it will start or once you get a good reading plug it back up and see if it will start. A new switch is around $180 or you can do the bypass mentioned before. 2nd opinions?
