    It's only 4 hours from me, might make a nice weekend ride.

    I would ride 20-30% you will probably not get too wet if at all, however it depends on your comfort level do not ride if you do not think it is safe for you to do so. Another item you may want to look at is it 20-30% chance of rain or is it for severe weather? Rain is one thing lightning and high winds are another.

    Must have just bought it and not had a chance to get tags and insurance before they picked it up.

    I usually fold everything the best that I can and Iron it out in the hotel. With the jacket I lay it on top folded loosely in the trunk, if it is cool enough you can always wear the jacket under a light windbreaker.

    You do not have to completely remove it, I just find it easier if you do.

    My wife and I outweigh you by a considerable amount and even with no air in the shock have never experienced what you have and with no marks on the tires or fender I would check over wiring to make sure it was not burnt wires,I have had that happen before due to a PO mod.

    Can't say I have ever had that happen, not sure why someone would be so childish.

    I would go with the R/R I just went through several overcharging but I have an on board voltage meter so I was able to catch it before it toasted my battery and anything else. After you get a new battery fire it up and see what it's putting out if it's too high the R/R is your culprit.
