  1. ME TOO
  2. :rotfl:
  3. Plan is to ride from Paris to Tellico rest up and hit Cherohala and the Dragon first thing in the morning. I had to ride from Cooke City to West Yellowstone in the dark, it was not something I'd want to do again, them Bison just appear out of nowhere! They blend into the darkness real well. The following year I almost got caught in the dark there again, wasn't my fault this time... who would have figured we'd get slowed down in August by a snow storm barely made it out of the park before dark.
  4. When we go, that's our goal... smaller house, bigger garage and hopefully no close neighbors !
  5. On the way home we're going to do the rolling thunder run to the wall. So we'll be heading north out of New Bern.
  6. We try to do about a 60/40 split, surface hwy/ interstate. Scenic routes are always prefered, interstate in between, if it's not to far out of the way.
  7. OK Lenny, you convinced us to add another day and do it all I'll take a look at what you suggest but don't think time will allow it on this trip. We have been thru Little Switzerland before (in the cage) and would like to see it again on the bike. Another to add to the future rides down there. We will be going down there a few times a year now that the grandkids are living down there.
  8. After B2MOM & Dad's M&E we are heading to New Bern, Nc. to visit the grandkids, while on the way, we are planning to ride either the dragon or cherohala skyway (don't have time for both) I'm looking for guidance on which one to ride. We will be in the area mid-week so traffic on either should not be an issue. It will be the wife on her trike and me on 2 wheels. We both like the twisties, but also like scenic rides too. Opinions please. Then on to Rolling Thunder on the way home.
  9. You did a fine job, not a spot of fluid got loose, nice packing . Now comes the fun part, getting those bars and cables installed. Thanks again. Now lets pray for some nice riding weather.
  10. Are we still looking for a clown ? I think there's one in Ravenna, Mi. , I think he goes by the name of Clownpuc :rotfl: Let the search begin!!!
  11. A day is a day is a day.... You called it, I'll ride it My pockets will be full that day ! Great idea Eck.
  12. I'd like to give a big and to Sundayrider (Scott). He very generously sent me a set of cables and wouldn't accept any $$ for the parts and shipping. I owe you an Ice Cream and a Barley pop when we get a ride in this spring.
  13. That's always a possibility, one that will be looked at. I think most of the gas came out the overflow hose though, because I had the air boxes off and looked down the carb while it was overflowing and there was barely a dribble of gas coming from the needle. The idle circuit was spitting a little gas too. The plugs were fouled pretty good from turning it over with the straight seafoam in the carbs.
  14. Dirty injectors ?
  15. Well I think the seafoam soak did the job. Came home today and drained the carbs, flushed with gas then filled them up. Ran it thru 3 heat cycles with no problem. Put in new plugs and am now washing the K-&-N's , I'll put it all back together tomorrow and hope for the best. Next up is waking the trike from it's almost 6 month nap.
  16. I have the Flanders bars on the wifes trike, I really like them but don't want to spend that much again if I don't need to.
  17. I've got my fingers crossed that it does. With a little luck they'll fill all the jury slots early and let me out of here before lunch and I'll be able to work on it today.
  18. Jury duty in the morning, wish me luck Good Night.
  19. I have stored mine the same way for years, never a problem till today
  20. Thought I was going to get my first ride in today, didn't happen I uncovered the bike, checked tire pressure then went to fire her up, it started right away, I turned my back for a second and when I looked back there was a BIG puddle of gas on the floor fuel flowing out of the left front lower cowling look a little closer and it's coming from the overflow hose. Nearest I can figure is a stuck float, left rear carb I think. I pulled the seat, tank, air boxes and followed the tube to the left bank of carbs. I tapped on both carbs and thought I had it but nope, turned the key on and another puddle. So, I put the overflow tube into a coke bottle to catch the gas and ran the carbs dry, then put a funnel on the gas line and filled it with seafoam, turned key on and filled carbs with seafoam, the bike wouldn't start on seafoam so I misted the carbs with gas to get the seafoam into passages. Anything I'm missing? Gonna let it sit till tomorrow. It was stored all winter with seafoam in the gas and every other week I turned the key on to keep the carbs full. I really dont want to have to pull the carb rack if I can help it.
  21. I'm going to be swapping out my RSV bars for a set of RSTD bars and need the longer cables and lines. Does anyone have a set laying around from a switch to SS lines that they want to part with ?
  22. If you have enough of the shaft showing you can use a hose clamp to attach a slide hammer on the shaft and give it a good wack or two, it's probably wedged between the tube and ujoint. I use a coat hanger with a small hook bent into the end, go thru the hole Bongobob talked about to hook the ujoint and align it with the shaft when re-assembling.
  23. Jeff, are your old wheels pitted? If not would you want to sell them? I'd be sending them out to be powder coated. The reason I wanted new ones is because Jeannie's are pitted, the previous owner never took care of them.
