If the acorn nut was loose, you better check the neck bearing torque too, With the top nut loose it may have let the torque adjuster nut and lock nut loosen.

I bought an audiovox to install on my former Honda, I was going to use the crashbar tubes as a vacuum reserve when I did the install, makes for a cleaner install. I still have the audiovox setup around here somewhere.
Since nobody else will talk to you Bubber, I'll give it a halfa$$ed shot. There is one of the automotive performance ignition companies that makes primary wire splices, can't remember their name right now (it may be Bosch), cut the old wire near the coil leaving enough to add the splice, push the splice connector onto wire, add new wire to other side of connector and twist ends to lock the connector. The wires are bonded into our coils so it's this splice or four new coils. I have never used them but have read that they do work well.
