  1. i saw where one such identified concealed permit owner was harrassed by his neighbor. He shut them up by placing a sign with a large arrow and the words: Yeah I'm armed but my neighbor isn't...
  2. Kevin, So... the castle doctrine? kicks in for motel stays (when carried unloaded to and from room in a locked box) and then in a loaded state, on night stand. When it's on my bike, I carry unloaded in a carry on bag in a keyed 4" x 6" lock box. this bag is also locked into one of the saddle bags or trunk. I have a current conceal pistol/revolver license from WV.
  3. YADA, yada, yada... So what they are saying is, conceal carry permit holders from out of state can conceal carry in their vehicle( on their bikes???) But, If you leave vehicle for any reason, you must lock up in our ABS saddlebags/trunk, which can be opened with a well placed swift kick... I normally carry the concealed weapon to my motel room and place "loaded" on the night stand.. believe your more likely, to need it there, in todays world. Kind of defeats the whole reason for conceal carry...
  4. You all need to do "a lot more riding".....
  5. Folks!! The situation on getting ammo is getting really tight, but this morning I lucked out and was able to buy two boxes of ammo. I placed the boxes on the front seat and headed back home, but stopped at a gas station where a drop-dead gorgeous blonde in a short skirt was filling up her car at the next pump. She glanced at the two boxes of ammo, bent over and leaned in my passenger window, and said in a sexy voice, "I'm a big believer in barter, old fella. Would you be interested in trading sex for ammo?" I thought for a few seconds and asked, "What kind of ammo 'ya got?"
  6. I also had a state job, but when i checked into keeping my medical benefits they quoted me something like $1200 a month .... Get all numbers "in writing" for you both, for healthcare before you pull the trigger.
  7. Think long and hard on this one... Health care - will you still you have it, if, you retire at 55... probably not... I'm 55 in excellent health and pay $700 a month with $5000 deductable... and it goes up every year. Obama care kicks in Jan 1st,2014 ... who know where the rates are headed?
  8. Is it BLUE?
  9. Does it have two or three wheels?
  10. Hopefully innocent bystanders weren't involved...
  11. Skid... Don't worry bout me I'm good for an all dayer... (figuring a 12-13 hr ride...just so i get back before those deer come out at night) If I start out at 7 am will be in Grantsville by 9. Snowshoe by 12:30 I'm leaning towards the smaller route as we could pickup 4 bikes by the time we hit I-79. CalhounWV, Skid, Yammer Dan (would pull approx 6 -7 hr ride 10 am 5 pm) Traveling up 79 to 33 we could pickup Yamaha Woodsey and crew.(8-9 hr ride, 10 am- 7 pm) Others have expressed interest from Wierton and falling Waters, Martinsburg but even for just a M&E at Snowshoe, it will be +9 hr ride. will modify this when i get back. It's my moms b-day and she wants me to take the truck and buy her some plants...
  12. here's something a little smaller... and I love rt# 33 https://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=Sandyville,+WV&daddr=Cedar+Creek+State+Park,+Glenville,+WV+to:38.8523542,-79.4272161+to:Snowshoe,+WV+to:38.422536,-79.9918155+to:38.356496,-80.339095+to:COWEN,+WV+to:Birch+River,+WV+to:Sandyville,+WV&hl=en&ll=38.820451,-80.172729&spn=1.144823,2.609253&sll=38.858959,-80.14801&sspn=1.144204,2.609253&geocode=FTyoUQId9fQh-ym9tq0AWvpIiDFpuRpRi8f78Q%3BFZhKUQIdCCUu-yFGUQG7LICcfymDIKi7g35JiDFGUQG7LICcfw%3BFQLXUAIdcAlE-yn3sMVfnNVKiDEClOaFKYQLKg%3BFYsmSgIdO2Y7-ymZ41tCx3BLiDG9AjJrrmPyjw%3BFQhISgId-Ws7-ykn-5uhxHBLiDFahzjF3LvDOQ%3BFRBGSQIdaR82-ymd0zfwuI5LiDGSpKURNQRiPw%3BFVEVSgId1sgy-ym5sDUqkPFLiDGhCI8F7TVNKQ%3BFZtxSwIdZsYv-yk9U9pwqONLiDG5OU6Y_BBpRA%3BFTyoUQId9fQh-ym9tq0AWvpIiDFpuRpRi8f78Q&oq=cedar+creek+state+pa&mra=dpe&mrsp=2&sz=9&via=2,4,5&t=m&z=9 What do ya think?
  13. Sounds good to me... I just added Cool Springs Park "C" to google maps link above. I will most likely be the only one to do the entire ride, unless someone fairly close meets up with me in the morning. Tried to loop back to I-79 so folks could get back home quickly if needed.
  14. Here's a possibility for the route: can modify to take advantage of the sites. Have never ridden rt#28 but it goes right thru Seneca rocks so... https://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=Sandyville,+WV&daddr=39.2385691,-81.4535019+to:Clarksburg,+WV+to:Cool+Springs+Park,+George+Washington+Highway,+Rowlesburg,+WV+to:Blackwater+Falls+State+Park,+Davis,+WV+to:38.8423654,-79.4128584+to:Snowshoe,+WV+to:38.422536,-79.9918155+to:38.356496,-80.339095+to:COWEN,+WV+to:Birch+River,+WV+to:Spencer,+WV+to:Sandyville,+WV&hl=en&ll=39.006379,-80.538025&spn=1.141828,2.609253&sll=38.929502,-81.095581&sspn=2.286062,5.218506&geocode=FTyoUQId9fQh-ym9tq0AWvpIiDFpuRpRi8f78Q%3BFam7VgIdQx4l-ynfNEDhlrNJiDFjjmvhhXL-Lg%3BFQVgVwIdKgo2-yl3fusJy2dKiDHgR8xwzh7pXQ%3BFWT8VwIdD6U_-yGTOvputre_nimJKbKICr1KiDGTOvputre_ng%3BFVjBVAIdBw5D-yFDmH6sQv57pimt-FSpPslKiDFDmH6sQv57pg%3BFf2vUAIdhkFE-ymHbKUoY9VKiDHskVwoJG7VUA%3BFYsmSgIdO2Y7-ymZ41tCx3BLiDG9AjJrrmPyjw%3BFQhISgId-Ws7-ykn-5uhxHBLiDFahzjF3LvDOQ%3BFRBGSQIdaR82-ymd0zfwuI5LiDGSpKURNQRiPw%3BFVEVSgId1sgy-ym5sDUqkPFLiDGhCI8F7TVNKQ%3BFZtxSwIdZsYv-yk9U9pwqONLiDG5OU6Y_BBpRA%3BFXASUAId164m-ynHZS7fiBpJiDGVUBeKZVwl9A%3BFTyoUQId9fQh-ym9tq0AWvpIiDFpuRpRi8f78Q&oq=cool+springs&mra=ls&via=1,5,7,8&t=m&z=9

  17. That they can double as dirt bikes?
  18. It would seem then, that one hand doesn't know what the other is doing... Regardless, 20 percent off, is kinda hard to resist if you're in the market for one...
  19. Time: Aug 25th with rain date of September 1st. Sunday was chosen as a few responders have to work Saturdays and have other commitments. Other weekends were not picked due to international rally and Vogel get togethers. Route: making a large loop thru WV I-77 N. to Rt# 50 E. to 219 S. to Blackwater falls will decide where to eat at Blackwater falls Rt#219 to Snowshoe Williams River Rd. to I-79 spent about an hour on mapquest this morning only to find there is no way to email the map.. it's broke...GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! more to come... Please respond if interested in this ride. Thanks Joe
  20. the steep switchbacks and inclines would concern me more than the gravel or sand. Just ask yourself, "if i had to turn around and come back this way...Could I?" .You don't want to be stuck 30 miles from nowhere.. I've ridden dirt bikes all my life and have taken them places that would make a billy goat puke...lol The RSV is a "BIG FAT HOG" comparted to a dirtbikes "mountain goat agility" ... you've got a slick tire compared to a knobbie and 1000 lbs compared to 250 lbs...not to mention no ground clearance or torque... After riding YZ250s and RM250s I bought a DR400 to do both street and trail... let me tell you, "I was extereemely dissapointed".... It also was a heavy pig that found the bottom of ruts, and liked to have scared me to death riding down steep inclines "out of control"(and this bike was only350-400 lbs). keep in mind it's a touring bike... designed primarily to be driven on a road... Prerhaps you could ask on other forums about that specific streech of road? Unless you can find someone that has done it on a touring bike I'd be very leary...
  21. Ya know ... Back in the day... The first one to do something like this... would have been referred to as a "SuckUp" Now it would seem, everyone wanted to be first? Seriously though, I know a lot of hard work goes into organizing one of these get togethers and wish to thank each and every person connected to this worthwhile event...
  22. I just got off the Phone with Susan from Rumbling pride. The 20% off isn't in effect yet, as it's a 4th of JULY special. She also said, she set up NELSON 10% to see how many riders from our club participated. Based on this number, she could go to her boss and perhaps, offer even a greater regular discount for our Org. She wanted to know if i wanted to wait and get the 20% off, and of course I said no... Hey it's only
  23. To late for me, but thanks for the heads up...
  24. Just order mine.. $143 for two premium aluminum fold down bar mounts. One for the US flag the other for our Venture flag...
  25. Empty hi rise parking garages, say after 6 pm or on a Sunday. They not only give you the opportunity for tight turns in both directions, but also throw in a few speed bumps for practice.
