I think you have a great point in the "worn out the first day from riding"... Probably would be a good idea to save the best ride/destination for the last day of the rally and to limit the rides to under 300 miles total

It's a possibility... Was going to ride to Seattle, WA with my brother-in-law to see his son this past June and it kept getting delayed. Will most likely do it around middle of next June... probably do Whidbey Island and on way back, riding south in the Rocky mtns.

Cool beans... I was at the Cody international in 11. Remember it well. The temps getting there, were in the high 90's-100's. Once there though it was very comfortable. Enjoyed every moment of it with you, Black Owl, Tom, Ponch, Bubber, Redneck... and on and on.Great Rally To be fair, it's a five day ride to get to Washington state from the east coast.. That's 5 out, 5 at the rally and 5 back at a minimum(assuming 500 mile days). For most that's un-do-able for all but the really hardcore amongst us. Most... people that have to work, only get three weeks max vacation... Would also love to see the Grand Canyon... but imagine that's pretty hot as well.. If it's in the south, it almost has to be some time other than summer. To durn hot! That's why I was hoping someone would step up to do it in a central location like Colorado. easily assessable to all and the weather in the passes is nice and COOL..... Moot subject now... I'd be interested in a ride(s) like that though and will be following it closely... Vail,CO is 1500 mi. from my back door and I'd be there in a heartbeat if that were a destination...

Might be nice for a ship or better yet a Sub...

Don, That's correct I did make the offer for 2015 but when no one else was stepping up, put WV in for 2014. Now that Brake pad and AKRefugee has stepped up, it will not only give our members a choice, but hopefully, allow some of our western members the chance to attend an IR. It's all good...

If I were to "guess" ... would probably be due to the welds. The rear pipes have welds all over them and if you look closely, that's heat treat silver paint, not chrome that's covering the spotwelds and mig welds.... I know cause i just wire wheeled mine and used the same heat treat silver paint.. Rustoleum I believe... Trick i learned from running two cycles, take pipe apart pour oil inside, drain and reassemble. It will smoke for about 15 min but the inside will be "good to go" for a couple of years... Also: Short trips causes condensation in the pipes that doesn't burn off and will eat your pipes from the inside out.

Yup, Kevins (dacheedah)wife had to be back Thursday as school started last Friday. To top it off, the school doesn't have air conditioning. Kevin(akrefugee), ask if they give a Harley discount... Hey, it worked for me Sunday...

Not to mention the fracking that's going on up there... Colorado would be a MUCH Better choice, although I love the Mt. Rushmore area...

Folks, I truly believe it would be a good thing to alternate regional locations for international rallies every other year. If folks would rather come to WV for next years rally, I'm in. Thanks Gary, any help would be appreciated...

+1 I likie! Tennesee, Kentucky or WV for the east side. Would be willing to host one next year if we could do both . I know for a fact I could get enough ride captains and tail gunners to make it happen. Plus its at least 10 degrees cooler in the mountains, We could have one at Summersville or Snowshoe WV or ???

Would love to attend but between the IR, Vogel and all the work that needs to be done around here, I will unfortunately, not be able to make it. It sounds like a fun time though...

As previously stated, I'd really like to see the rally out west in 2014. Perhaps in 2015, If I could get some volunteers from WV without too much arm twisting... we could host one in Summersville, WV. It is centrally located to all the sights and has excellent camping and lodging possibilities....

I like the area in the winter and spring and fall, but Florida, in July/August is pretty warm... Downright HOT if your on a Harley... Is it possible to change the month the rally is held? My vote would either be the Rocky mountain area, or Grand Canyon. Would also like to see a "travelling" International Rally some year.

As many of you know I recently purchased a Bunkhouse camper in Wisconsin last Sunday. Jeff and I (mainly Jeff) had to install a new wiring harness due to piss poor wiring job on the camper. He also fixed a problem on my bike. This took +5 hours? I wish to thank him for the many hours he spent working on the camper and bike. Also wish to nominate him for an exceptional member award...
