I'd just leave it 20-50. Has been my experience that switching to a lower viscosity oil will increase the otherwise unnoticeable clutch whine to a howl... Besides, the 20w will still allow for cold starts and after a few minutes it will be up to operating temp. IMHO.

Glad your ok... the bike can be fixed...LOL was you seated on the bike or on the left side? After years of dirt biking I got rally good at taking bikes off of trucks and trailers. With the bike turned off, put the bike in first gear and back the bike down the ramp while working the clutch(effectively the back brake now) and front brake.Plus you can even leave the kickstand down. The major problem of`backing the bike without it being in 1st gear, I can gaurentee you the front wheel will start sliding. maximum braking always takes place on the downhill wheel(s)

I'm no hvac guy, but for a $12 start capactor and $20 contactor it would be cheap enough to swap out. Just make sure powers off and the capacitor is physically shorted out with your screwdriver before you remove the three wires... Plus, if it doesn't work, you'll have spares for your new AC...

I don't think Kevin is into that Broke Back Mountain stuff either..

look to see if your headlight is plugged into a modulator. or, call PO. or, you could look for a switch that is not OEM. Most modulators can be turned off manually... I'm bettin its been modulated if it that steady...

Need some electrical input
CaptainJoe replied to Condor's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
make sure both the front and back are working... if one or the other goes out, it will flash faster... Same thing if you have a trailer hooked up. I have had to get stronger flashers to hook up trailers as the factory ones would flash to slow. -
Keep it up Mini.... You'll have Kevins wife going along with him after all...LOL:duck:

Dang Brian, I thought I was the only one that hauled mowers and such on the bike... Good for you...

I've got a pair of the mesh pants (black) and they are hotter than blazes over 80.. even when just wearing swimming trunks under them. Black sucks in the heat... Going to get the reinforced knee motorcycle jeans, once i find the old post on here.

Goldwing bufferting and passenger wind problems
CaptainJoe replied to Haber's topic in Honda Goldwing Tech Talk
If... I was hauling a passenger...(I don't cause Penny prefers to ride her own bike), they would wear a full face helmet ... She wears one anyway, but did some reading on the subject and found there are a lot of facial injuries from the passengers face impacting the back of the drivers helmet. just an observation As always to each his own... -
This could make a great soap opera... The continuing saga of "As the wheels turn"

Take off speed for a Cessna 150 is 65... But you are right, most trailers aren't shaped like a wing. The thing I'd be more concerned about is cross wind (from the side). The best looking trailer I've seen todate was at Dons MD 2 or 3 years ago. It was tear dropped shaped. Believe it was custom made so aerodynamic is the way to go... Better fuel economy, less drag. IMHO

+1 on that. Although, Of the two, I liked it best. You know, In a James Bond sort of way... But with all that shaking, like my BILs Harley, I was cringing and expecting parts to fly off... That, along with the "experimental rating" .... ummmmmmmmmmmmm. NO THANKS!

Guess the moral to the story is to be as careful were you park your bike as you can. I'm going to get a bright colored cover and park in a well lit space. The cover may also save me a scratch or two if it does get knocked over. something like this: http://www.compacc.com/p/Dowco-Guardian-Ultralite-Motorcycle-Cover?scpid=6&scid=scsho2819818 Also, never, ever park on an outside corner space. Use to work in the city and can't tell you how many fender bender/clips I've seen over the years, and a lot of them will keep on going.... Lesson learned at Krogers food store also taught me to park in a cameras view. Luckily a kind pedestrian was thoughtful enough to take the hit and runers license number and description. The Police handeled it to my satisfaction...By the way... they were averaging 4-5 accidents a month there... Most of the motels I stay at allow me to park under the carport or near it. Just have to be careful not to get your bike between the hydrant and motel or you could wake up to find your bike has been towed. Brian, the reason they pull out in front of you, is they know you'll stop, and they know you have excellent insurance with deep pockets... same for the cadillacs and other expensive cars... The morons are out there amongst us...LOL

Just a suggestion... When transferring files to your hard drive, rename the .jpg to include member name(s) "assumed left to right, back to front order" example: MickeymouseDonaldduckGoofeySneezyDopey.jpg Members info is still protected and it would put a face to a name when you view the pic. PS, I know this wouldn't be practical for large groups.

That had to be very dissapointing, being a new bike and all.. Good thing the cops came and took info... You never know what a person will do when given some time to think about an accident, and it is 1200 miles from home. When I purchase a cover for my bike, perhaps I should consider getting a neon green or fluorescent orange one... LOL
