1. Neat video. If you want to get a little faster response out of the 2nd gen check out the rear end swap in the tech section. In my opinion the v-max gears really light up the Venture. Mike
2. Museum of Science and Industry. Planetarium.
3. Second on 40 psi. Yes the steering is a little heavy and takes some getting used to. Mike
4. On my RSV there are two housings on the controller. An inner and an outer. The outer one doesn't really use seals. It is just a tight fit. I did not find a way to open the inner housing. So I just warmed everything up with the hair drier and applied dielectric to the internal plug. Mike
5. You sure that is the battery? Mike
6. My sympathies. BUT how slow is slow enough when running a red light or stop sign? 5 mph? 10 MPH ? And who decides this? Those we entrusted to make the decision have said 'stop means stop' not slow down. In Washington State that means three seconds. Mike
7. Actualy if you use LEDs in the turn signals on an RSV you do not need load resistors. Adding a .33 ohm resistor to the flasher will slow it down without increasing the current draw. Mike
8. A pot hole on a high speed interstate highway that is life threatening is unacceptable. The state, feds, county, city or who ever is responsible needs to get their -sses out there and at least put a temp patch on these. We expect these highways to be safe at interstate speeds 70 or more miles per hour. If that kind of danger exists it should be clearly marked and or repaired immediately. Mike
9. Can-Bus LED = 18watts. Regular LED = 1.5 watts Use a Can-Bus in a car designerd for regular LEDs and instant overload. Use it one designed for a light bulb ?? Try it and let us know how that works out. Mike
10. Yes I use LEDs on my bike. They did make the flasher work faster so I installed a .33 ohm resistor inside the flasher. This does not create the load some equalizers do. It just slows the flasher. Mike
11. There is a good article on this swap in the tech section. Get the final drive here, ready to go in. http://rmsportmax.com/gateway.html Mike
12. There is a good article on this swap in the tech section. Get the final drive conversion here http://rmsportmax.com/gateway.html . Mike
13. Fuel sounds about right. Your 6 gal tank will hold about 5.5 unless you punch the filler neck. Speedo error is about 7% Mike
14. Until you find something here is a work around. Turn the cruise on. Engage then disengage the speed control. Now in fifth gear you will have the OD indicator on and the yellow cruise resume light on. In fourth gear you will have the yellow cruise resume on with the OD indicator off. In third gear and below both indicators will be off. Not what you are looking for but it does help. Mike
15. Yes I was disappointed. Having been a fan of the original with Carl Sagan I was expecting an educational and exciting experience. It seems all this program wants to do is impress us with how grand everything is. Ok I got that in the first five minutes. I am still hopeful though. So I will give it another week. Mike
16. OK if you are going to lay it out and push it to the rev limiter. 1st gear to just over 30 mph. 2nd gear to just over 60 mph. Third gear to about 100 mph. 4ht and 5th you are on your own. I usually consider it as a 30/60/90 deal. Mike
17. Last week my cb quit transmitting. That turned out to be a broken #2 wire in the riders patch cable from the ecu. I got a new one under warranty and put it in. All was well until today. Yesterday I went for a ride in some heavy rain. This included stop and go and slow speed in the downpour. So everything got pretty well soaked. This morning the audio system went bonkers. The buttons had little or no effect. Inputs changed on their own. The radio turned itself off and on at will. Way cool. Of course I assumed water in the riders control unit. So I took the back off and removed the controller from it's housing. I was surprised to see that the internal unit was pretty well sealed and didn't seem wet. Now what? I added a little heat with a hair dryer and put a liberal dose of dielectric grease on the pins to the one plug inside the housing. Testing proved successful. Everything now worked normally. I don't know where the moisture was or how it got in but apparently it doesn't take much to screw things up. Mike
18. Mounted mine in the trunk. Yes it is controlled by the riders radio control. The built in unit on the bike will immediately recognize it as soon as you plug it in. Mike
19. It is difficult to explain excessive drag. You are turning the differential and drive shaft so the wheel will not be 'free wheeling'. Mike
20. I used the Asian blinker fluid that came with the LEDs. You just have to remember to poor it in from the bottom. Mike
21. I completed the modification to my signal flasher and It works perfectly. I cut the wire loop and inserted the 2 watt 0.33ohm resistor as instructed. The flasher now flashes correctly with the led bulbs. Pretty easy to do. Mike
22. You might want to check the carb sync. It is surprising how often this helps stumbling problems. Mike
23. +1 Tyre
24. Just remember. You pull the trigger on a new car purchase. You squeez the trigger on a pistol. Mike
