  4. If the bike checks out, carbs, valve adjustment etc. and if you still want a little more umph when you stomp it at speed. You might consider the v-max differential swap. How to is in the tech section. There are several posts on the subject. I did it and have been pleased with the result. Mike
  5. Look carefully for a screw, nail or tack in the tire. With no squirm on the tire they will sometimes seal themselves, for a while. Then when you least expect it they will leak again. I carry an extra couple of screws in my tool bag. On more than one occasion I have used said as a temporary tire plug. Mike
  6. Third is good to a little over 90 mph. I have never maxed out forth but I know it is good to well past 100. Mike
  7. Looking around the side of your windshield will often blow the water drops off your face shield. Mike
  8. I think NASA has a few surplus ones they will part with cheap. Mike

  10. Yes I had a lot of problems with my Dyna 3000. My bike ran fine with the stock module and like crap with the Dyna. I sent it in to their service dept. twice and they just sent it back saying it was ok. I finally had it checked by the local Yamaha dealer and they confirmed the Dyna was bad. So I sent it to the president of Dyna with a note and never heard back. Mike
  11. First make sure you are not inadvertently bumping the shifter. Then warranty. Mike
  12. Reving the engine at a red light can help the magnetic strip sensor under the street recognize the motorcycle. Something to do with the higher varying stator output at the r&r. So now you know why it is ok to rev. Mike
  13. I have a pair of Road King mufflers I never used. It turns out I am quite happy with the mod I did on the stock mufflers. For me the sound is exactly what I was looking for. So if anyone is interested I am giving away the Road King mufflers. I never used them. They are a little scratched and have a few light abrasions from sitting around for a few years. I would rather not get into shipping. So I am hoping someone local wants them. Mike
  14. First thing is sync the carbs. Mike
  15. Sounds like a bad ground or loose connection. Wiggle test time. Mike
  16. Well not having an excessive current draw certainly limits the possibilities. The stator, the connections or internal in the r/r are possibilities. It might not be a bad time to call Buckeye and discuss this with them. Mike
  17. And to think they both could have been famous. Mike
  18. I am planning on attending. Mike
  19. You need to check the current flow your system is using. You will want to check at the output of the R&R. Check with the bike running and all of the accessories you normally use turned on. This will tell you if you are pushing the regulator to it's limit or not. If your current flow is excessive you will need to decide what you can do without. If it is not excessive then your problem is within the regulator rectifier system. Mike
  20. They went out of production years ago. My understanding is they were manufactured by an individual not a major company. I have been looking for one myself and I came close a couple of times at auction. But lost out. So good luck to you in your endeavor. Mike
  21. Download Irfanview which is a free photo editor. Open your photo and click on 'resize'. Adjust settings to whatever size is required. Go to 'save as' and save your photo to a new name. I just add a letter to the old name. And there you have it. Mike
  22. The whole idea is to go fast enough to get there before you leave. That way you will always be safe. Mike
