1. In case you are listening. Some of us bike riders who like the Touring bikes are getting a little older. Traffic congestion is getting worse. And it is not at all unusual to get stuck in a slow moving traffic jam. So how about a clutch that is a lot easier to pull. Since you are building hydraulic clutches the amount of effort needed is just a decision that you made. So how about one that is very easy to pull and accessory springs for the handle for those who want more stiffness. My wrist thumb and forefinger are killing me. Mike
2. All I can say is 'well done'. Mike
3. So that's the best way to bring a BMW to a stop. Mike
4. Welcome to the forum. It's always nice to have another Aussie aboard. Mike
5. Thanks for the info. Sounds like it is worth a try. Mike
6. Lewis I have never been so happy as I am now that I am retired. I hope everything works out for you as it did for me. Just remember picking daisies is far better than pushing them. Mike
7. For small bolts and screws not in plastic heat from a soldering gun will release the blue loc tight. If you are loc tightening screws into body parts then good luck as the loc tight might dissolve the ABS. Screws tightened into ABS may tend to pop when loosening even if thread locker is not used. Mike
8. I use a ball head Allen wrench. Then I use a large box wrench for additional leverage. I slide the large 9/16 box wrench over the short end of the Allen and use it like a lever. Has always worked for me. Just be careful not to strip things. Mike
9. Yes I used the Dremel. No I did not get any popping. I like the sound really well. Mike
10. I did the mod on the stock mufflers. I have been very happy with the sound. Mike
11. I am not sure what is going on. Pulling the carb heater fuse should not cause noise in the cb. Turning a switch off should not blow a fuse. Somehow your switch is grounding out the circuit. Mike
12. How did that work out? Mike
13. Part or model number please. Mike
14. I purchased a pair of battery operated gloves (Gerbings) from Cabelas. They work real well in keeping my hands warm. They claim 2 to 8 hours depending on which of four settings is used. I found they are good for about 4 to 5 hours on the low setting. So a couple of spare lithium ion batteries makes me good for the day. Mike
15. Yea my math came out to about 7.5 but things are never ideal. So I would figure about 4.5 to 5 hours if it was mine. Anything beyond that is gravy. Mike
16. 4 to 5 hours. Mike
17. Yes those are the ones. Mike
18. When opened these provide excellent air flow. Mike
19. You can also modify the flasher to solve this issue. That said I put leds in the front and left the bulbs in the rear and let her flash a little fast. Gets attention. Mike
20. Sun shinning? You must be at a higher elevation. For those who might be unaware. Western Washington has been in some kind of inversion where temperatures in the mountain passes have been higher than the lowlands. Go figure. Sea level, cold, foggy and drizzly. Camp Muir half way up Mt. Rainier warm and sunny with temps higher than Tacoma. Snoqualmie Pass 65 degrees and sunny. Seattle 49 and fog. Mike Camp Muir
21. Wishing you the best recovery possible. Mike
22. More chrome, often referred to as safety chrome, is always good. More expensive chrome is even gooder. So there you have it. You just can't spend too much on bike chrome. Mike
23. Vibration reduction. Mike
