I had an uncle that used to have one. He always called it his "mudslide". I think that was because it always looked like it'd just been through one...

Prayers needed for my brother

Prayers sent. -
1. Sometimes I'll look down at my watch 3 consecutive times and still not know what time it is. 2. Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong. 3. I totally take back all those times I didn't want to nap when I was younger. 4. There is great need for a sarcasm font. 5. How the hell are you supposed to fold a fitted sheet? 6. Was learning cursive really necessary? 7. Map Quest really needs to start their directions on # 5. I'm pretty sure I know how to get out of my neighborhood. 8. Obituaries would be a lot more interesting if they told you how the person died. 9. I can't remember the last time I wasn't at least kind-of tired. 10. Bad decisions make good stories. 11. You never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment when you know that you just aren't going to do anything productive for the rest of the day. 12. Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after Blu-ray? I don't want to have to restart my collection...again. 13. I'm always slightly terrified when I exit out of Word and it asks me if I want to save any changes to my ten-page technical report that I swear I did notmake any changes to. 14. I keep some people's phone numbers in my phone just so I know not to answer when they call. 15. I think the freezer deserves a light as well. 16. I disagree with Kay Jewelers. I would bet on any given Friday or Saturday night more kisses begin with Miller Light than Kay. 17. I wish Google Maps had an "Avoid Ghetto" routing option. 18. I have a hard time deciphering the fine line between boredom and hunger. 19. How many times is it appropriate to say "What?" before you just nod and smile because you still didn't hear or understand a word they said? 20. I love the sense of camaraderie when an entire line of cars team up to prevent a jerk from cutting in at the front. Stay strong, brothers and sisters! 21. Shirts get dirty. Underwear gets dirty. Pants? Pants never get dirty, and you can wear them forever. 22. Even under ideal conditions people have trouble locating their car keys in a pocket, finding their cell phone, and Pinning the Tail on the Donkey - but I'd bet everyone can find and push the snooze button from 3 feet away, in about 1.7 seconds, eyes closed, first time, every time. 23. The first testicular guard, the "Cup," was used in Hockey in 1874 and the first helmet was used in 1974. That means it only took 100 years for men to realize that their brain is also important.

Windscreen
TDbiker replied to TheCoffsKid's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
I went this route: http://www.clearviewshields.com/motorcycle-windshield/yamaha/royal-star-tour-deluxe-2005-present/ I'm happy with the quality, and really like that it's a few inches wider than stock. Good luck with your choice. -
I thought this one looked interesting. Takes the risk out of loading and unloading by yourself. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear to be available this side of the Atlantic. Also unsure of the price. http://www.motor-trailer.com/eng/index.php

The next challenge

I'll be following this one... Looks like it'd be a nice match to the speedo. -
Why does the Y exhaust section rust first?
TDbiker replied to csdexter's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Last spring when I first started my '05 RSTD after sitting all winter I noticed a pinhole-sized stream of smoke coming from behind the heat shield below jug #1. I couldn't see an obvious cause so opted to take it in to the local dealer to investigate. He confirmed a hole or possibly even a crack at the "Y", so he ordered up a new one and installed it for me. All I can say is I sure am glad I have an extended warranty, 'cuz it sure wasn't cheap. He was surprised it was covered (as am I), but the warranty company authorized the repair. -
Aftermarket grips for 08 rstd
TDbiker replied to bjstone's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
Yes, the throttle grip moves as the cruise control adjusts the speed. I replaced the stock grips on my '05 RSTD with the Kuryakyn ISO's but haven't added any end weights. I haven't noticed any vibration without them, and otherwise love the grips. -
Sounds like a good idea. I would do my best to make it, as I never seem to be able to make PIP over Labor Day.

These are 2-seaters. Passenger sits behind the driver.

I just looked this up on the Dennis Kirk website and it says that the 6mm adapters we require don't come with it and are not available from them. Where did you get yours?

This doesn't happen to me after every ride, but it does happen. In my case, I have mild allergies, and I attribute my headaches to breathing all the dust & pollen while riding. So, I've started using an over-the-counter saline-type nasal flush product (sorry, can't remember the name) that I get at Walmart in the allergy medication aisle. Seems to help if I remember to flush out the sinuses right after a ride.

I have the mustang seat with backrest. The backrest post just slides into the slot in the driver seat. Mine didn't want to hold it's position so I contacted Mustang. Here's their response: There is an adjustment setscrew inside of the seat. Turn it clockwise to tighten the backrest’s height adjustment. You will need another person to help. They will have to push the seat foam down so you can gain access to the screw. See the attached information for its location. Attached is the picture. Good luck.

Yeah, he disappeared several weeks ago. Not sure what happened, he just seemed to have faded away...
-
Speaking for myself, it definitely has not gone away. I guess I've just decided to let the bike be the only whiner, so I've stopped. Glenn

I'm sure he would, however he is no longer a member here...

Sorry, I didn't realize I'd gone to the RSTD page. Here's the link to the Venture page: http://www.accessories4bikes.com/royal-star-venture-c-36_332_53.html?page=6&sort=7a But to answer your question, all the visors (headlight, passing lamps & turn signals) have the same part number regardless of the bike. Good luck, Glenn

Here is some information for your research: http://www.accessories4bikes.com/royal-star-tour-deluxe-c-36_332_52.html?page=6&sort=7a Scroll down near the bottom of the page. Good luck, Glenn

Trailer the bike.

I would also remove the windshield and run the straps as close in to the front forks as possible. It makes it easier to compress the front shocks. -
I've ordered a pair of boots, 2 leather jackets and 3 pairs of chaps from them over the past 3-4 years. I've been highly satisfied with everything, and they also had very good customer service. The first pair of boots were the wrong size (my fault), and exchanging them was no problem. I'll use them again.
