  1. Actually the group was well behaved this time! I would have expected around the third or fourth response someone say "Leave her home next time!" Seriously, yes clutch basket whine is a common problem with these bikes. We usually just accept the George Jetson sound as normal. Mine makes a chirping sound to tell me it's happy! It does not affect the performance of the bike at all but it can be annoying for sure! As mentioned see if you can convince your dealer to replace your basket. Welcome aboard!
  2. Yup! Your headlight fuse is under the left side cover under your seat...
  3. Jonas, for automobiles we are allowed eight, but for bikes it may be six...
  4. We are taking I80 to I355 to I88 to I39. Not sure how far we will get Saturday but Rockford is a possibility depending on how far we get Friday. I355 travels well but has a toll every few miles. I like to avoid Chicago like the plague...
  5. We are taking I80 from Cleveland...
  6. OK it's not Draggerman's RSV...
  7. Gee, just yesterday I replaced my PITA to get to filter! I went to Auto Zone and found a metal one about the same diameter and stuck the rubber mount on it halfway up as far as it would go before it hit the center seam. Sorry, already threw the box away, the filter cost between $4 and $5, can't remember if it was $4.69 or $4.99...
  8. Replace your 22 year old stock springs with Progressive brand springs and you probably won't need air. There are several areas where the air can be leaking. I would start with the O rings inside the collars around the shock tubes. You also might have a problem with the solenoid on the CLASS leaking, loose air hose or split or cracked hose. All the rubber and seals are 22 years old...
  9. The dash is an '83, the only year with that particular style CMU, and it is a Standard, not a Royale, no CLASS. IMHO it is overpriced...
  10. Reiny does it have two horn buttons and aftermarket headlight? If so I know whose it was and it was well cared for...

  17. Yup, Wayne is right, you are going to get different opinions mostly on personal preference!! I for one like the linked brakes and wish my 2nd gen was linked (before it was triked). Never had any problems with slow speed maneuvering with my 1st gen...
  18. Well, seeing as you only disturbed the rear light socket, I would start investigating there...

  23. Not entirely true. If you leave the Kury's end caps off and buy the appropriate 14mm nuts and grind them down and epoxy/force them into the grips you can use them. You just have to cut the rubber ends of the stock grips to act as filler. That being said I sprung for the Kuryakin weights for a better look and less McGuivering...
  24. The wrist thingy is separate but screws on to the end cap of the grips. I ass u me you are referring to the throttle rocker type thing. They can be found on Fleabay and run under $20. If you are referring to the end weights, same deal but they are around $50...
  25. :sign woo hoo:
