  1. Will be staying in west Asheville. All booked. Looking forward to this event.
  2. All is good with my wife and we will be there on the 15th God willing. Jana is taking the car and I am riding. We may stay at our son's AirBnB if available. Waiting on his reply.
  3. I believe I will attend. No comedy like Puc and very little Venture tech, but I need to go and I am close. Will see about a cabin tomorrow. Can my wife and I four wheel there? My knees are week and hard to control with a passenger. Solo not so bad.
  4. Are you now on warfarin? Had two pulmonary embolisms and on warfarin/Xaralto for life. Probably a precursor to the polycythemia vera. Keep us posted and the prayers continue.
  5. You never cease to amaze me with your memory and gab, Puc. Thanks for being here.
  6. That look very similar to the one I bought from Sears in 1996 after Hurricane Fran hit my then city of Wilmington, NC. That thing ate everything you could chuck into it, including limbs larger than they claimed it would digest. Go get it and clean up.
  7. I know that there are multiple cancer survivors on this site, what if we combine into a help group/prayer group. I began my cancer lessons in 1983 with T cell lymphoma. They took my spleen and went on chemo/radiation for two years. 2007 they told me melanoma, more radiation, 2010 another melanoma. Just a week past I now have Polycy Themia Vera, a blood cancer where I make too many red cells. I am not afraid to talk about it. So let's do talk about it.
  8. Puc, did you meet Jim Petty riding a 13 Indian? Looks like him in the last photo of the first post. I have sponsored him in the past but he is not running CannonBall anymore.
  9. Where did you find this? I believe I heard this once many years ago.
  10. I can only offer you the same prayers and thoughts that have been posted. So sorry that you and your family have to go through this. Three time cancer survivor.
  11. I like it but I need two of them. Do they have that many?
  12. Amen
  13. Love the pix, but in the first is that "flying carpets in the sky".
  14. Still cold today but 46 tomorrow and 58 Tuesday, even mid 60s end of week. I believe or at least hope that it is over for this year. I remember last fall some meteorological group claimed that the SE would be above normal temps and below normal precipitation.
  15. I know this has nothing to do with "Fool" but my well pump is froze this morning. Never happened in ten years but it is seven degrees this morning after a week below freezing. Next week in the fifties and even sixties. Oh well at least no snow.
  16. I went south in 1985 from Nebraska and have never regretted the decision. North Carolina has mountains, beach and decent weather. My children love it here and have growing family. Make the choice and leave.
  17. Oh hell, brings back bad memories Dan. Went through stress test-OK, then a heart cat-great, couple weeks later I passed out twice at home. Off to the Horspital, lots of scans/mri, blood tests. Bottom line...pulmonary embolism (blood clot). Scared the heck out of me. Now I am fine (this all happened eight years back), but keep checking and looking since this is a killer.
  18. I have experienced this wonderful greeting more this year. I received an email today from one of our federal politicians in my district and it ended with Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year. Had to post to his site that if that is the best you can do, I won't be voting for you in the future.
  19. So Mike are you in the market for an air cooled V-twin?
  20. Always tough to loose our pets. She will always be with you. I still visit Lil Bit at her grave (nothing brings tears to my eyes quicker).
  21. Not mad at all. Hasn't slowed me down, but there are some cars and pickups in the ditches. Obvious they used their brakes instead of steering through the snow. Actually it is quite pretty and the dogs love it. :snow2:
  22. I can feel for you, my wife has a 2015 Ford Explorer with all the goodies. I only drove it twice. Now my 96 Ford F150 is my ride. No distractions since I can find all necessary knobs and buttons at night and without taking my eyes off the road. Have owned it since new and only has 226k on the clock. Never a let down. Oh living in the past is grand.
  23. Been missing you, puc. Not the same without your oratory. Praying for your continued health improvements and you family. Thanks for being here.
  24. You will need to sync the carbs if it runs. Sitting around messes with them.
  25. What a group of self serving, sniveling whiners. I don't care whether I have been good or bad. I wait until my wife, Jana, is asleep. Then get her credit card and order what I want. Since I pay the bills, every month is Christmas.
