  1. I have mine since 2007. All paid off and enjoying every single time I ride. My Venture is here to stay.
  2. Once they start salting in our area, I also stop riding until we get a nice rain that wash all road salt away. 👌 Then it is time to ride once again. My only concern this time of the year is deer in the wee hours of the morning. Ride Safe Venture riders. 😐
  3. Sorry to hear about winter using early, but you can always revive the bike to life. As I've expected, the weather may be cool one day and then warm again. When I say warm - in the 50s 👍 I never winterized the bike. I take my Gerbings out instead. Rode at 30 degree temps in the am and pm and it felt great. Give it a try.
  4. Still here. 👍. I may not be posting a Lot, but I do get every single notification on my iPhone. I am keeping my venture. 😏.
  5. I have not noticed on my end.
  6. Our family live in the Islands of Luzon and they only felt some winds and no damage. Thank God they are all fine. South of Manila especially in the southern islands of Visayas are hard hit. The people of Tacloban and Leyte are hardest hit with loss of life. It is truly very sad. Sad sad sad. Tonight, we are donating to the Philippine Red Cross only as we want to make sure funds are given to the people who need them most. As a side note, Thank You to the US for sending marines from Japan, millions of dollars from Australia, Canada and as far as Saudi Arabia for recovery and relief efforts.
  7. Praying for both of you on a speedy recovery.
  8. It has been cool in the morning and nights. I love this weather especially on my Venture. Ride Safe
  9. Not sure how far you are, but I can ride early this afternoon.
  10. Think twice before you lower the bike. Consider ground clearance left after lowered. I am an inch shorter than you and did not lower my RSV. I am 180 lbs, button wife is 55 lbs lighter than me. However, I do take my 5'9" 200 lb 13 year old son for a ride time to time with no problems. Make sure any luggage you carry is balanced left and right every time you ride.
  11. Dunlops are good tires. I've used them on my Kawasaki... OEM tire btw.
  12. I've been using brickstones ever since and have never tried any other brand tire on my RSV. In fact, I am on my 3rd set and soon will be OB my 4th for the front and back anytime soon. No complaints on my end as far as the tires are concerned. Being 5'5" and 180 lbs., I do find the RSV easy to handle even at slow speeds. I guess this all depends on who you ask. We all have our own choice of tires and some depend on others to get reviews of the tire and what not... D404s are great tires and perform well on my Kawasaki. Either tire to me IMO are good tires for the RSV.
  13. Get well soon Rick. What what I've read so far, you have a wealth of information on how to store your bike for an extended period. Regards.
  14. Thanks for sharing pics.

Just looking at it I get nauseated. Wow!
  16. Good info. I needed a refresher.
  17. Yep! This is a great site. I've done all my maintenance with the guidance of all the members and tech online help. Ride Safe
  18. May Tommy Rest In Peace.
  19. Glad to hear both are ok.
  20. Congrats!
  21. Thanks for the pics. Nice ride.
  22. I will assume you are still in your "break- in" period. Hopefully your mpg will improve down the road.
  23. You are right. Your calipers may have to be rebuilt - some librication of some sort. Your mirrors can be replaced. This just remind us all how heavy our bike is. Always pay attention and be mindful of the weight. Glad to hear you are home with no other major issues.
  24. For some reason, I see very little difference whether I cruise at 65 or 75 mph.
  25. My 5 year old Yuasa oem had a sitting voltage of 12.4V with over 34K miles and every winter has been supplying me with needed power for my Gerbings. I know it would still start my bike, but I think keeping my old battery longer is on borrowed time. A premature death of the batt is imminent. So I decided to stay with the trusted Yuasa brand and now I also have the peace of mind as I ride far away from home knowing my bike will start with confidence.
