  1. Before you do any of that, check that the squelch on the CB radio isn't causing it. If it is set too low, it will try to received distance signals and cut the radio and etc. off. Either turn the CB off or set the squelch on 20 and see if it still happens.
  2. Just sent you a test message. Seems to have worked. I uploaded it from my computer though, it may be different if you are trying to link one. Will test that later. Make sure the image that you are sending does not exceed the maximum size.
  3. At long last, we finally found a few hours to take the Waverunners out on Sunday. We were only for maybe 4 hours but it sure felt good. First time they have been on the water this year. Both batteries were shot so I had to replace them. Wasn't as bad as I thought it would be though. $55.00 each at Walmart. I was worried about the gas after sitting since last fall but they fired right up and ran great. I put a can of Seafoam in each one and topped the gas off and had no problems at all. It was short but fun. Maybe the only time we'll get them out this year but at least we got them out. Almost time to winterize them now.
  4. @Flyinfool the pictures have been restored.
  5. Ohio changed their law a couple years ago. It was previously shotgun only. Now you can use a rifle that shoots a straight case handgun round. Not sure if the 444 would fit into that category or not as I've never seen a handgun chambered in that round. Don't know exactly how the law actually reads.
  6. I've owned a couple of Marlin 444 over the years. They are fantastic brush guns.
  7. You can get an adapter that converts it. It has a headphone jack as well as the charging jack. Here is one example. https://www.amazon.com/Lightning-Adapter-Earphone-Charging-Silvery/dp/B073WCJX5J/ref=sr_1_20_sspa?ie=UTF8&qid=1506311768&sr=8-20-spons&keywords=headphone+lightning+adapter&psc=1
  8. I think it looks good but still not the riding position that I prefer. I just like the feet forward cruiser styling. That foot under or back position just hurts me.
  9. You have to look all the way through from the opposite side but you can see them. Use a flashlight if you need to. Unless they have been removed at some time, the screws are covered with brass caps so they won't look like screws. You have to use a long slender screwdriver to pry the caps off.
  10. I use the color tune with the tank and airboxes in place. I do unbolt the tank just to raise it enough to remove the dogbones for access to the front plugs.
  11. I think it's as good a place as any. I would be happy to create a forum for it if you folks think that is best but don't think it's really needed.
  12. I think there actually used to be a Venture Sighing function. I don't think it was a dedicated forum but a map or something that somebody had created. I can't even remember. It just seemed to have gotten overlooked in an upgrade somewhere in the past but wasn't used very often.
  13. Sorry, I've never owned or ridden the VStar so can't help with a comparison. I will tell you though that it doesn't sit as low and many here have complained about it being top heavy at parking lot speeds. I've never really felt that it was hard to handle at any speed but I'm 6'2 with long legs. There are things that can be done to lower it and seat modifications help also. I love the second gen Venture and think that it is one of the most comfortable bikes I've ever owned but again, I have long legs.
  14. That is a bit rich. Especially for somebody like me who doesn't even have the ones that I own activated. I'll just stick with Pandora and IHeart.
  15. Yes, here is the link: http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?24246-Set-the-Float-Levels-on-QuickSilver
  16. Not something I would pay for. Not that big a deal. Was kind of cool to see what kind of weather other members are experiencing.
  17. You got them my friend. Praying that everything goes per plan and our Lord guides the hands of those tending to her. Give her our love.
  18. Found the page but it's returning database errors if I try to create a sticker. Also, I know longer find it linked from their home page. Maybe it's just broke and not a priority for them or maybe they are discontinuing it. https://www.wunderground.com/stickers/classic.html?query=San%20Francisco,%20California
  19. Looks like the weather links that many of us had in our signatures have stopped working also. Just removed mine from my signature. I didn't look to see if they have changed something or just stopped providing the service.
  20. I do agree that you get more tech with the Yamaha. As you pointed out, some things are not even available as options. Not everything that you list are extras though. The new Road Glide Ultra comes standard with Sirius, Bluetooth, Intercom, ABS. I don't know if they still have the CB or not. It was standard on my 2013 Road Glide Ultra. Yamaha blows it away though with things like traction control, parking assist, etc.
  21. Dang....I think my 2005 is likely my last bike but you just sold me on something that doesn't exist.
  22. Ohio has no emissions test or for that matter, any type of inspections for motorcycles. There have been a number of new bikes introduced over the past few years that are air cooled and I'm sure that the manufacturers have done a lot of research to make sure that they meet the standards. Yamaha is pretty well known to produce their bikes for a 10 year run so I'm sure that they expect this new one to meet any standards for at least the next 10 years.
  23. I would have to do some real soul searching to make the decision. Indian would be out of the running for me. Just not really a fan. It would come down to either the Harley or the Venture. People keep saying that the Venture is less money but I don't see it. The nearest Harley would be the Road Glide Ultra. Suggested MSRP starts at $26,399.00 The new Venture Suggested MSRP is: $26,999.00. I know that discounts are available on the Harley and I'm sure that they will be on the Venture also. Price is pretty much a dead wash. The Venture has more of the latest tech features though.
  24. FANTASTIC! Can't wait to read your report on it.
  25. That's pretty common. Especially at that volume level. I typically keep mine around 12 or so. That is why a lot of us use the Mic Mutes though. Most of what you hear is being picked up by the microphones. Turning them off when you aren't using them makes a lot of difference.
