Guess the escapie is Eric, the other hasn't reported as of yet. Gas was for the other guy, and it wasn't an S10 but a Dakota seemingly, at least there was a Dakota sign stuck in the front end of our truck. As far as getting a lawyer,,,, nah, not going to happen at this point anyways. And as for comments, the only thing keeping you from making any is that the return might not be what you are looking for.

OHHHHH you guys are good!!!! -
This can be a hard thing to deal with this time of year, but then any time is not necessarily any better. May you all find many blessings during the time of mourning and funeral arranging. It's not a 'party' that we want to plan for or look forward to for sure!. Here's why I say: blessing. We just celebrated Christmas, which would be the birth and arrival of Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God. The reason He came was so that we would no longer have to face the fear of destructive death, but rather have the opportunity to accept His offer and pass on to eternal life. I think we tend to forget that fact. So if you have not met Him yet, and accepted that free ticket to heaven, then maybe you should give it some thought.

That is a BIG OUCH!!! May you and Linda find peace even in this event. Bad break for sure. We will ask for a speedy recovery for Linda and patience for you as well.
-
Looking forward to once again spend time with all you folks, but in the meantime,,,, Blessings as you celebrate this season.

It's that time of year again, always happens right around this time. We are all busy celebrating and then there are those who get forgotten. Why??? Not really all their fault eh, it just so happens that they were born about this time of year and so their birthday happens to land right when we are the least interested in the congratulations part. So HAPPY BIRTHDAY to all those who miss out on birthday celebrations because of Christmas. That doesn't make Christmas a bad thing at all,,, it's just one of those things!! Special wishes to Bob, aka @Dragonslayer.

May the blessings that come with Christmas be there for you and yours, and may the peace that is offered to all, be found in your hearts and minds as well.

I will move it for you. And Welcome:happy65: -
Sell it???????? are you nuts???? do you have any idea of what it took to get it to this point???? Original cost Lettering and paint Ready the back for cooling Install of cooling unit Not to mention the years and years and miles upon miles of driver training it has taken to get that boy to this point. It's only the 3rd time (that I know of) he's smashed one of my vehicles and he's just over 40.

I didn't do it, Eric, our 6'4" son did it. Says the tires slid on the road. He says he won't drive it looking like this, says the sign is all mussed up. I was thinking some foam and caulking might do wonders. He hit the back end of a S10 and that guy drove away, didn't even report it,,,, good reason for that though>>> No drivers license, no ownership, no insurance. He was 'parked' on the road with 4ways going 'cause he was out of gas, so when I brought him a can he wanted me to put it in for him,,,,?????????????? he's 30 yrs old or so??????? I said no way, but gave him instructions, now he knows how to open a gas can as well,,,, learn something new everyday I guess. Guess I got more work to do,, anybody interested?
-
What do you think?? Might this be attractive? Will it set a new trend? Is there money to be made? Will the big 3 be interested in me working for their design dept? Might have to hammer at that bumper for a bit though, I think it's a bit over done. Now that the parts are removed we can start a rebuild.

Sounds to me like you guys are all getting old,,, glad I can still be around to look after you all.
-
At least you did it at a better time of year than me, I did mine the day before the rally in Kentucky that we were going to go to. Mine healed up mostly, but you are older than me was at that time, so maybe you gets to sit longer than me. I had a week off, so was on crutches for that week and then back to work. Maybe it will work as well or even better for you, after all, sounds like your knee has more experience. Heal fast bro, or the next thing you'll be looking for on the internet will be a Spyder.

Common thickness of OE valve shims
Marcarl replied to jfman's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Actually as things wear, the cause of clearance issues, you would mostly be needing thicker shims rather than thinner ones, but in the real world it doesn't seem to work that way. It might even be possible that at some point, somebody, somewhere, could do the whole valve adjustment with just an exchange of shims already in the engine,,, just not very likely. Understand also that you are working on just one engine, but a shop will work on many different engines with many using the same size shim but different thicknesses. -

I found mine varied from the 60s to the 80s. You might also be able to reuse your own shims in a different location. If you don't have the shim you need then maybe you can do like I do and others do as well, and that is to take some of your extra shims to a local MC shop for an exchange. They haven't charged me anything for exchange, bu that is not the case everywhere, but most likely they will be cheaper than buying new ones and maybe quicker and easier.
