  1. Things that come to mind: - loose connection on bulb, you would see burn marks on the leg(s) - Bad ground on bulb wire - Cheap bulb,,, I'm with you, not cheap to test it out - Check voltage at 3000 rpm, max s\b about 14.5 volts Solution? Put in a reg bulb for a while and see what happens.
  2. Did your mother never tell you to PICK UP your feet? I know, it's easier said than done.
  3. Your symptoms indicate a coolant leak. Best get it checked by a refrigeration tech and have the leak fixed, if possible, and then new coolant added.
  4. Could be that you have the power going to the lights and are switching the ground wire, that way there is always power at the lights but it won't flow until you close the circuit with the switch.
  5. On the first gens there is a washer in the clutch setup, that if you get it in the wrong place, things will not work. I know the second gen is similar but not sure if it's exactly the same. The first thing I would check though, as mentioned, make sure your kick stand is up.
  6. Congrats you two,,, wondered how long this would take, And Again. When the Meet & Greet & all the hugs?
  7. Just keep in mind that 75% of the tires life in in the first 25% of tire wear. That's why we so often hear, I just looked at it recently and there was lots of tread left, and now it's bald.
  8. Don't have a noise that I can hear, but then I put the original washer back in,, maybe that helps???
  9. It's a sign of things to come, so in the meantime, CONGRATS to Taters and there's hope for you Tom.
  10. Looks good so far, but we need to see more,,,,,, hope you enjoys it.
  11. What can I say,,, we are VentureRiders!!!!!
  12. Careful Steve, with posts like that you could end up with more friends,, and that means more ice-cream!
  13. Wow, that was a long story, and it's not finished yet. Glad I was able to read it, and although it took two posts to get it in, I was ready for part 3. So Ray, let us know as part 3 develops, God does not quit working after 2 parts.
  14. Reminds me of the old Dodges, back in the forties and early 50ies, the left hand wheels had left hand threads on the wheel lug nuts,,,,, now why was that?
  15. Come home one day with a brand new Lexus, and the next day a Ferrari, and when she screams at you for being so darn foolish you argue a little, whine a bit, tell her how life is passing you by, but eventually tell her that's she's right, it's too much, better not spend so much. Then in a day or two take to see the new bike you like, tell her it's a Yamaha and it's much better, safer, trusted, more economical, cheaper on insurance, cheaper tires, costs less to service, looks better, rides nicer, more dependable, decent resale value and bound to get better, and you are being harassed by the VentureRiders and just can't take it anymore.
  16. Ever hear of side cutters,,, oh wait, they is sharp too,,,,,, best ask the neighbours to come over to help.
  17. Prayers for you David, and maybe He will come through with a surprise for you. Please keep us posted on the developments.
  18. Check to make sure the carbs are seated properly on all 4 manifolds, and all clamps are tight.
  19. You might have an electrical issue, where the circuit heats up and then the connection comes apart,,,,, check your fuse box next time. when it shuts down, immediately check for power on the load side of the fuse box with the ignition turned on. You'll need to take a multi-meter along for this.
  20. Sorry I tried, but am not on FB.
  21. This could be a real serious pain for you,,, all the trouble of finding the right adhesive and then getting to stay on. I suppose that's why we don't see that piece very often, most guys just find it a big bother, it needs careful tending, and you always have to keep an eye on your scoot in case it should fall off or go missing. The solution I purpose is to send it to me for save keeping. I have a special spot for such items and would not mind in the least to oblige you. Want my address?
  22. Need a link to vote.
  23. The Canadian Medical Association has weighed in on the new Prime Minister's health care proposals: · The Allergists voted to scratch it, but the Dermatologists advised not to make any rash moves. · The Gastroenterologists had a sort of a gut feeling about it, but the neurologists thought the Administration had a lot of nerve. · The Obstetricians felt they were all labouring under a misconception. · Ophthalmologists considered the idea short-sighted. · Pathologists yelled "Over my dead body!" while the Paediatricians said, "Oh, Grow up!" · The Psychiatrists thought the whole idea was madness, while the Radiologists could see right through it. · The Surgeons were fed up with the cuts and decided to wash their hands of the whole thing. · The ENT specialists didn't swallow it, and just wouldn't hear of it. · The Pharmacologists thought it was a bitter pill to swallow, and the · Plastic Surgeons said, "This puts a whole new face on the matter...." · The Podiatrists thought it was a step forward, but the Urologists were pissed off at the whole idea. · The Anaesthetists thought the whole idea was a gas, but the Cardiologists didn't have the heart to say no. · In the end, the Proctologists won out, leaving the entire decision up to the asses in Ottawa.
  24. Looks like there was protection, the wires did not melt, it was the fuse holder, so looks like a poor connection or short in the fuse block.
  25. You're doing good bud,,, looks real good,,,,, so when's the next one.
