  1. I never use anything,, so far so good, and the one tractor I have is close to 40 years old.
  2. If there is a notch, then I wouldn't tighten them. If it slips into the notch while you are riding, you may have 2 legs that would be moaning. Like was said, loose is nothing compared to tight.
  3. When you want to sell a complete bike on this forum, it's kind of like preaching to the choir,,,,, hey we mostly all have one already, and unless your name is Dan and the price is real cheap, we're only interested in what it is, what you are asking and what it looks like. But buying one??????? nah, not interested. Now parts on the other hand could generate some real interest. So I guess we still love you,,, well maybe at least a little bit.
  4. Got to find my ducks and then get them in a row,,, later today maybe. Lights are on, wheels are tight, won't need the trailer I think.
  5. What is it that you're so upset about,,you got it right and now, so does he,,,,,, tent for the scoot, and,,,, well he needs to sleep well, to stay safe, doesn't he???
  6. Just file a small 45 degree angle on the leading edge of the pads,,, problem solved!
  7. Best to go to the JBM site and follow their instructions. Takes a little time, but pays off in the end.
  8. YEP!
  9. Seal All will work but only for a short while, because it will harden enough to cause more more problems,, been there, done that. Best to get new diaphragms from: http://jbmindustries.com/index.html They work great and the price isn't all that bad. If you have pinholes now, it will only get worse as time goes on. Don't be penny wise and pound foolish.
  10. I'm up for one in Ontario,,,,, but,,,, need to find a place where everybody is TOGETHER and is affordable,,,, I'd even do it on my own,,, but then I like those sort of things, and my wife is a big help. I would need volunteers to help put, run & find rides etc, and there would be no draws or prizes. It would be organized for us to socialize and enjoy each others company. And oh yes,,, the food has to be excellant!!!!!
  11. Put in a can of seafoam to half tank, ride it a bit, let it sit overnight, ride it a bit again, let sit a bit some more and then RIDE IT. Let us know if it helps. Could be some crud in the carbs and this process might help.
  12. My lips aren't moving!!!!
  13. A thought came up in my mind, but somehow I don't think I should post it,,, well not yet anyways,,, I'll let somebody else take the hit first. Come on Yammer,,, say it.

    Help!!!

Tried calling them, but they was closed.
  15. This was a great rally,,, yes the committee did their part, they sure did! It takes a lot of hours, headaches, loss of sleep, changing ones mind and in the end there are all those glitches to deal with. As riders we didn't notice any of the above, but the committee did. Thanks to you all for planning this all out. BUT:::::: this would not have turned out without us being just us. We are a welcoming group, we show respect for each other, we care for each other, we don't dwell on somebody else's differences, and we don't mind helping each other,,, or other others for that matter. It's the type of site (group) we belong to. The stage is set with our on-line guidelines,, and how we deal with each other on-site. We have taken on the attitude that we are a family, and that showed up big time during the rally. Thanks everybody for giving Marca and I such a great week.
  16. Before you do any repair, make sure you clean the coating off first or things won't stick very well, it also helps with adherence to roughen things up.
  17. If you see a sign post that says, Brantford,,,,, you're headed in the wrong direction, but a meal and drink can be had,,,, and I know N O T H I N G about Harleys.

    Help!!!

Now that you mention it,,, I remember,,,, we looked for members in the Sault but came up empty, if I'd thought of it I would have called. Dave Howson has a shop on Bruce Street and happened to have the right bearing on the shelve, or a spare wheel on a bike stuck in a corner, or we still might be there waiting for the bearing shop to open, they were closed Saturday, Sunday was a not likely, and Monday was a holiday.

  20. First I would check that you do not have a drain on that battery, that would be my first consideration. Then I would check that the bike is charging enough. Only after that would I worry over the charger or whether the battery is toast. Just because it shows only 4 volts, doesn't mean that it is done in. I'm not at all sure about float chargers, and why one can be used and another not. I've read different opinions on the whats and wherefores, and so far am still confused as ever. I've never used one, just leave my battery in the bike, park it for the winter and fire it up again in the spring, 5 years on a Dekka, and no issues so far. I do have a heated garage.
  21. get the Carb-tune from England, everybody on the site seems to be very happy with it. http://www.carbtune.com/

    Help!!!

    Always do,,, even twice today!
  23. Don't know for the Kawi, but on the Venture you put a punch or diver tool into the one end, push the spacer over to drive out the bearing. We usually have to drive it out using the inner race, so the bearing will be screwed royally. One end has a collar on the spacer to keep it in place, so if it doesn't work one way way, try it the other way. It may also take a little persuasion to get it to move over to accept the driver tool.

    Help!!!

So I'll tell you how it ll came down. Pulled out of Green Bay yesterday, bike felt funny all the way to the Sault, even stopped once to check out strange noises, but could find the cause. Got on the road this morning and about 5 miles out of town I get crunch, crunch, in the rear end, and pulled over. No doubt as to what was happening now, a bearing was on it's way out, just hoping that it was the roller bearing and not the needle bearing. Ben and Marca and I headed back to the Sault and stopped at a service station looking to see what could be done. After about 15 minutes I decided to look for a u-haul to get us home when this guy pulls up in a jeep and says,,,,, you all got a problem??? Well we did and thanked him for his concern. He wasn't put off so easy and told us that he had a parts Venture in his garage, so if he could help at all, we would be welcome,,,,, 2 hours later I was back on the road, brand NEW bearing, and all the help I needed. Thanks to Ben and Dave Howson the local guy. We then attended the Bush Plane museum much to Ben liking and tomorrow we head home. Just after supper I get a phone call from Hal, wondering if we need to get picked up, and he was 1.5 hours south of us,,,, wow, what a bunch!!!!! Now aren't you glad I didn't speech at the IR.
