  1. There's a button on the left hand handle bar that squishes (mutes)the sound for you. It might have been pushed and now by accident you pushed it again.
  2. Don't know about the Royal Star, but the Ventures are 1st gen from 83 to 93 with the 83 to 85 being MrkI and the 86 to 93 being MrkII because there is a change in engine size (1200 to 1300) and the bags are different. From 99 to 13 they are all 2nd gens, all the same except for color, they even kept the cassette deck even though the kids had no idea what they were used for.
  3. We are not only pickers,,, sometimes we even dicker, and occasionally we snicker, some of us are slicker, and infrequently we have a kicker, but I have yet to notice anybody licker, and if I continue on, you'll all think I'm sicker.
  4. I could say you won't be sorry for going to a trike,,, but then it is each to his own. For us, we test rode a Spyder for a day,,, a whole day, two up, and that was a mistake. I should have got used to it first on my own and then added a passenger. Then we rode a Hannigan (B2 Dad's) to compare the difference. We found a lot of similarities, and at the time the Spyder only had 2 cylinders so had vibrations which we found to be disagreeable. This year CanAm came out with a 3 cylinder, we went to try it and I was sold,,, except for the price,,, ooooooo that was a hard pill. We now have 3000 miles (5000km) on it and don't want to go back to the Venture. This thing is stable, fun, smooth, (not quite as smooth as the Venture but quite acceptable) and has reverse... a real reverse,,, got to be careful. It tracks real well, (a feller needs to do an alignment on the front for this to happen), mileage is 36 American, 43 Canadian. It now comes with a 1330, 3cyl that pumps out a fine 115hp. Lots of get up and gone. Crank this baby out and you'll be glad you have something to hang on to. Lots of good features on the Spyder, but price is not one of them. For us it was, that slowly on, things were getting harder to do, mostly Marca's knee at this point, and if I watch my friends they seemed to be having this thing about getting old, so I figured I was going to hit the same patch in life someday. As was told to me, you are better to make a change when you are able, rather than after you have to, so the switch was made,,,,, made a lot of sense, and,,,,, worked.

  17. I now have Orange Pledge: Water, isoparafin, dimethicone, octylphosphonic acid, nitrogen, polysorbate 80, sorbitan oleate, polydimethylsloxne, aminomethyl propanol, fragrance, proprietary acrylate thickening agent, methylisothiazolinone. Guess it must be alright, the only thing I know what it is, is the water, and that fragrance stuff, the rest must be to get the bugs off.

  20. I hear it helps to ride closer to the line when crossing under the camera. Don't know really, I only support the highway when it suits me, and that is not very often. I know if you have snow on your rear bumper from backing into a snow drift, and it's covering the plate, you get no mail!!
  21. This is how I set my floats: Install the needles, fit the float in position, turn carb upside down. Now look at the float at eye level. The curved indent in the top-center (now bottom center)of the float, should match the round circle in the main jet body that is left there from casting it. If it's not right then bend the tab to make it right. I did mine this way and then bench, wet, checked them. None needed to be re-adjusted.
  22. If you turn your handle bars all the way to the right so that the master is above the hose connection at the master and then slightly work the handle as you tap the connection, you'll find that the air will be encouraged out of the master. This should only take you about 5 minutes of work. As mentioned, keep everything covered. Also, slightly means slightly, only move it a little, not enough to push any fluid down to the slave, just enough to compress that little bit of air at the top. It might also help to put a jack under the bike to raise the left side a bit more so that the master is that much higher.
  23. Buy a Spyder,,,,, problem solved!!! ooppps this is a Venture site,,, sorry about that!
  24. So???? did you find some help yet?
