  1. I would start with your battery connections, take them apart and clean them. When you have them off, it's a good time to check the output of the battery, not just the voltage, but the output as well. Then check the fuses to make sure they are all clean and seated well. Also include the engine ground, I believe is on the lower right side coming from the battery. If you don't do this first you could be chasing this gremlin for a long time. Things may look good but you don't really know until you take them apart. Lets us know what happens
  2. Shouldn't be any problem I would think. If you can read instructions and turn a wrench the right way, you're more than half way complete. If you do run into something that gots you worried, just post it here and somebody will help you get into more trouble, kind of more or less, and usually within a day or a couple of hours.
  3. I would say that the monkey who's job it is to move that needle is in need of some warm-up juice. Maybe he's a bit ticked that you get your shot now and then but you leave him out.
  4. Ya but,,, isn't there a saying that goes: What's mine is mine and what's yours is mine?
  5. Ahhhh FINALLY we found him, or he found us, glad you is ok bro, it was just kind of strange having you offsite without any notice. Wouldn't have worried none had you not been going through the health issues things. Wasn't too worried about you really, more concerned about Tip in the grand scream of things. Good to have you around, mobile and typeable. I think it's time to move you to a smaller country so you wouldn't be so hard to find.
  6. Something else you can try, is to take out the faulty fuse and hook a trouble light between the 2 posts of the fuse. Leave the fuse out. Now when you go to use the circuit the light should come on, so you can now fool with the wires while keeping an eye on the light. You'll know you hit the right spot when the light flashes or stays on.
  7. You wouldn't be the first one to do that, and then find the problem elsewhere. You need to look below the dash, into the triple tree area where the steering head forks move. Bet there is a wire there somewhere that is pinched, but maybe only when the forks are turned, most likely on the right side,, but that is just a guess. You'll need a flashlight and you'll need to get down on your knees. Look from above and below.
  8. Opps sorry Don, didn't realized that sensitivity thing was back with ya. The rest of us get colds on a regular basis, some even gets bikes now and then, but you have to be blessed with sensitivity,,, must be a burden!
  9. I SURE do like the looks of them, and you ain't so bad either,,,,, I asked my wife for her opinion.
  10. The 2 places I would look first would be in the triple tree and under or around the trunk rack.
  11. One more answer. Deal with Dano on the clutch, you'll be super glad you did.
  12. If it were my scoot, I would replace the stator, it's getting dark on the bottom and that usually indicates heat, too much heat and so it looks to be replaced with a newer model. Gears look fine to me, but you could have a starter clutch problem and you can find that by removing the flywheel, that's the bolt you are asking about. Removing the bolt is the easy part, just turn it off with an impact, then comes the funner part, getting that hunk of metal to jump into a basket. SO! Remove bolt and store for later use, you will need to keep that hunk of metal in place later. Find a good solid puller, not a 2 point, needs to be a 3 point attach, squeeze it on tight making sure it is level, put a basket infront of the whole business with some rags insatlled, squeeze on the puller some more (I had a 2' bar on mine) and then using a solid piece of metal, I used a hammer, slap that silly thing right on the nut. Stand back, because if it lets go it come out of there in a hurry, might even take a day or two. I'm not sure what would happen if you applied some heat in the process, but I might be inclined to add that in if I were to make another attempt at it. Now you can see what shape your starter clutch is in because it will be right there in the basket for you to look at. Good Luck!
  13. http://slingshotinfo.com/wcf/images/avatars/77/718-77afdb9387c8e48eb9f15142b0b15164ff6398d3.jpg Is this the one you were thinking of?
  14. That's the number I got. White pages list it as well, but when I call message says disconnected.
  15. Just wondering on the whereabouts of Puc. He hasn't been on site since last Friday, and that is not like him. I tried his listed phone number, but it's been disconnected.
  16. It's the little round ball at the bottom that is causing all the problems, cut it off with a pair of very sharp sidecutters and the liquid will be all together. You could have just asked us you know, we have answers.
  17. My 85 and my Spyder won't have any issue with that road, they'd just be taking it easy so that their Master(s) could enjoy each and every minute of the time spent there. Now me?on the other hand? I'd be staying right PUT at the start of that journey. I know me by now, and driving off that road would be tremendous pull, one I would have to fight all the way down. Heights and me just don't get along much, so we have an agreement, we don't get together!!!
  18. Have you taken a shower lately?
  19. I'm using FF and had no issues, it popped right up. You could give me your bidder info and I could bid for you if you like. Anything there I might want?
  20. My first thought about your comment was: YOU!!! go sit in the lake, but actually you're almost right spot on.The 2 of the bike and the one of SleepyII.
  21. Personally I have had problems getting those screws to have much in the way of an effect without some instrumentation. What I used was a vacuum gauge on the same ports as you use for the sync process. You would be looking for the highest vacuum attainable, and then back off maybe an 1\8 of a turn to lean. I'm not sure if the carbtune would be sensitive enough to accomplish that. I use a single gauge, with a 4 ported manifold to do my syncs, and so once the sync is done I can do the screws, and then check the sync again.
  22. ALLL right!!! Now you got to the part that I'm and expert in!!! Need any help with the resting and eating?
  23. Thanks Sleepy, it was a good day and it all seemed to work out. Got lucky again! And you're welcome anytime. Glad you took at least 3 good pictures.
  24. I have no idea what it might show, but might I suggest doing a dry compression test on #3 , and I would do multiple tests seeing as the vacuum loss is sporadic.
  25. After I massacred my basket I think I just rattled the nut on with an air impact. Did that a few times and haven't heard of a problem yet.
