I had thought that Freebird had put it very nicely, although I did have a thought to add to his comments, but then I came up with the idea to leave well enough alone,,,, until,,,, the previous 2 additions. Now I need to jump in and wan you of what is to come. You had best get yourself a good set of hip-waders, and that has nothing to do with the fact that often times newbies are sacrificed for pond-monster fodder food,, but has more to do with keeping your butt out of the BS that seems to flow freely. I really think that the real reason Don has this event is to fertilize his lawn, and fertilize it does with the likes of the forgoing speech makers, add Saddlebum into the mix and it sure can get deep. So you'll need to bring a workbench, bench press, brake, drill press, vice, sledge hammer, small hammer, nuts, bolts and screws, grease gun, used oil container, air-compressor, air-impact gun, headlight aimer, tail-light adjuster, summer air for your tires, antifreeze taster, new brake fluid for your clutch, tire alignment corrector. Don't worry if you don't have it all together though, most of the others that show up don't either.

Clutch re install problem help please
Marcarl replied to Srbrown's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Shouldn't have to worry about it. I think the point of pulling the handle before you start is that it wouldn't happen after you have everything apart. I never pulled mine and everything worked just fine. -
SVTC paint issues

Seeing as you bought a brand new scoot, you shouldn't have to deal with swirls and the like. That is a defect, and although you might think you can solve it, you'll only get as far as having it look like you solved it. Buff it and then buff it again and she'll look good as allgetout, but then give it a good wash with some soap to get the wax off and all the swirls will be back. To get the swirls gone you'll have to 'grind' down the clearcoat with some 2000 or better grit and even then it'll be kind of dull without a constant application of wax. If it were a used machine, I'd say,,Buff it and be happy, but brand new out of the factory??? no way. -
Oh I think that might work. There are restrictions on guns and amo, I not sure about dynamite. Could you make it look like chewing gum? And oh! I don't want a big hole eh? everything needs to be neat and trim when ur done. And you don't have to worry about the neighbors, most are old and by the time they figure they heard a noise it would be night time and nothing left to see. and if the stump ended up on their roof they would have to wait for somebody else to tell them it was there, and none of them can see that far anymore,,, so quite safe that way.

Nope, second gear issue went away mid 85

Not the news I was wanting to hear. Was hoping that Dan was going to find a good trike that he could ride, that he could sell the rest of his scoots (am I a dreamer), and then take it easy and enjoy other things in his life. I was also concerned for his little brother, and praying that that issue would get proper attention. I guess at this point we need to continue to hold his family in our prayers, for well being and for comfort and guidance for the future.

Thinking about that,,, the stump is still there. Thinking about having a pulling contest at our M&G, you are coming aren't ya?

Got a chipper this morning, now it's all cleaned up. Weeelll except for the spot in the lawn, the stump and some firewood. Neighbor had a small tree come down as well, so he helped chip ours and we chipped his and took it to the dump for recycling, cost near $100cdn, next time I'll bring it to Michigan lol.

Had a bit of a breeze today, Marca took the day away and when she came home she found something different, and then blamed me for not looking after the place properly. Last time she gets a day off!!!! We had 2 off them blue spruces in our front yard, now we are down to just one. Do they have babies? Took us about an hour to chop it up using my old Haliday chain saw. That sucker got heavier over the years, didn't used to be so hard to lift.

Now I'm a Canadian and I suppose that might have something to do with my opinion. I have seen the Falls from the Canadian side more times than I can count, and yes you get to see the American side right on and can get somewhat close to the horseshoe. But the best experience my wife and I have had is from the American side. Not so commercialized, able to walk right up to the river and enjoy the time being there. If we were to go again sometime, it would be American side. But then again, if we hadn't been before we would go both sides, and take a Maid of the Mist boat tour, maybe walk in behind the falls. We would not be taking the cable car over the rapids, because Marca would not go by herself. We would visit Old Fort Erie and spend some time in NOL. But, best of all, we would most surely let other VentureRiders know where the place was for a M&G!!!!

And that's when the fight broke out!

Spouts??? what do you use them for?? we learned how to fill without a spout and wash the tank off as we progressed. After that we lit a cigarette to wait for evaporation.

Difficulty finding neutral

All it takes for this to happen, is to have a wee tiny little air bubble at the head of your master cylinder. It all makes sense the way you describe it. So to fix that? Bike on center stand if you can do that, handle bars all the way to the right so that the master cylinder reservoir is above the head or attached brake line. Put a large rag under the handle bar area, a large thick rag, take off the reservoir cover and check the fluid level to be no more than 1\2. Now with the handle of a screwdriver tap the head of the master cylinder and the connector to the brake line as you slightly, slightly now!, move the handle in and out. Keep an eye on the fluid and you should see an air bubble come up. If not, wiggle the handle a little more deeply. If you are too aggressive with the handle movement you run the risk of breaking up the air bubble and it will stay where it is. -
Well if that's the way it is??? CONGRATS to you two, and may many more blessings come your way.

What kickstand? Is that something new?

Almost clapped at the screen!!

Does all that work for a 5th trailer as well?

I was always very happy with my 85, but I did have to fix 2nd gear. It's pretty much identical to the 83-84 but has a few good upgrades like larger passenger seat, larger trunk. It still has the calm shell bags which I thought were better than the top loaders of the 86-89.

Ya got to find a way around that problem Ben. If you were half as good at being Dutch as you are in writing speeches you would have the problem solved by now. Just let that Dutch blood flow a bit, knuckle down and put some thought around it and provide us a solution. Me on the other hand have no problem with giving the Americans a bit of our goodness, I see it as a bit of a payback for all they do for us. They take our SnowBirds, take our leftover snow and cold, buy our oil (let's not go there), and there are a host of other things that go South from time to time, and it's all because of them!!! So take it as you wish, but keeping them happy makes momma happy and if momma ain't happy,,,,,, you know the results.

Sounds real good Joe, bet it had something to do with the pressure you put on the dealer, who then pressured the rep, who thought it might be wise to make a phone call and eat some humble pie. But now, me being Dutch of Dutch decent and having just a little of that red still flowing in my veins, might have suggested to him that waiting is hard, very hard, but going out to buy a brand new Wing could be very easy. They hadn't delivered not even close to ON TIME so maybe a bit of 'see how sorry we are' would be in the offering. Glad you are happy at this point, and I am sure waiting to see that machine roll onto my street.

And here I heard somewhere that we have Free Speech in this country,,,, looks like it's costing Saddlebum some!
