  1. Soooo, when you let it run outside it was on the side stand, did you happen to do that waiting for the train as well?
  2. I would think clogged air filters maybe, or did you change your air filters to another brand?
  3. Sounds like you have had this thing apart before, and that all the extras are now already displaced and there is no need to discover anymore parts that take up useful riding time looking for them.
  4. Yah,, I could do that,,, all I would need is to have is a proper measuring tape, proper sized wood, a new saw that cuts straight, a nailer that shoots straight and not too hallow or deep and then the painting I can get done. All my tools are from another planet I'm sure, they never do it right on this planet. And oh!! my wife will have to design it. Nice work,,, carry on!!!!
  5. Good news indeed!! Maybe you were stressing your knees out with all the weight and then the exercise, you wouldn't be the first. Hoping it improves for you and that it stays that way.
  6. Don't fool with the air filters, put the OEM back on.
  7. SO what brand of tire was that?
  8. I don't know whether you done this or not, but try to move the bike under power and then play with the front brake to see if you can better pinpoint the sound, it could be coming from elsewhere. You might even try to start at the top of an incline so you can shut the motor off to help locate it. More often than not the rear tends to make more sound issues than the front. And make sure the radio and such are completely turned off, completely turned off and helmet unplugged.
  9. Somethin doesn't jive here,,, I read that you have a poor memory,,, so why did you remember that other obligation,,,, don't make sense to me at all,,,, it is MD EH!!
  10. If you get a small flexable light you can often see more than with a reg flash light, you need to be able to stick it into places that can't be seen with the naked eye so to speak.
  11. Warm up the engine, doesn't want to be hot, just warmed is good. Take out all plugs. Screw in the tester. Open throttle and spin engine for a full reading. Do this again and then move onto the next cylinder. Mark down your readings, 1st and second. Compare readings. If there is a low cylinder, check it again, and if it's still low insert a squirt of oil and check again. If it comes up on the reading you have a ring issue, if it stays the same the rings checked out good.
  12. Back then: We recycled our milk containers Bread bags were waxed paper and used for lunches We didn't have garbage pick up, it was burned in the barrel, only the town folks had that happen and we couldn't really understand why Meat came wrapped in brown paper Glass bottles went back to get refilled Butter came in 'paper' wrappers as well as margarine Buddy came round once a year to collect any left over metals, and gave a new ball point pen for an extra plow share If a car was rusty, it was known to be well used and stayed that way If the neighbor needed help, that was more important than anything, even church, and that was ultra important. We drove fast cars, sometimes even more than 60mph. Those were souped up and you had to be careful and a good driver. We spent half the summer putting up hay, and the other half was used putting in grain and straw. Summers lasted a lot longer then. If buddy's car broke down 50 miles from home we towed it with rope and chain back to where it belonged and fixed it ourselves. An old car didn't have rocker panels, it started most of the time, ran on used oil, had bald tires, a cracked windshield, rust on the roof and missed a muffler. Mom kept worn out jeans and when she had enough left over material, made a new one, or patched another one. New rubber boats before winter, and then were cut down for shoes the following spring.
  13. Yah I read that, and then read it again, and then considered the fact that Mr Freebird is getting on in years and might have us mixed, for I could not for the life of me think that he would even start to think such thoughts about me. I even asked around and still came up with the same conclusion, so I figured it had to be you he was referring to. It actually kind of saddens me really, but things being the way they are and we not having seen each other for some time,,,,, well you know!!, come to think of it, Freebird hasn't seen you for a much longer time,,, so where would he get such ideas,,,, now I'm befudeled.
  14. Ahhh you couldn't hijack this thread, it's all about bikes and an old one at that,, being even a little bit Irish would not interrupt that kind of conversation.
  15. I think something has been lost in the translation. Are you saying it does not fit?
  16. You got Dutch blood in ya somewhere.?.? What a great idea.:happy65:buuuuut that brings up one problem,,,, we'll be missing out on a party and food!!! Best maybe you delete your post and keep those thoughts to yourself maybe.
  17. I would try to let it run in the garage with a fan feeding fresh air on the RR and see if it heats up.
  18. Don't worry soo much Mr. Freebird,,, Saddlebum is quite harmless, he's old enough now that it takes him quite some time to decide on what it was that he had decide on,,, but don't worry about that too much either, he'll eventually talk his way out of it,, or into it.
  19. Seems like it might work out then I'll see if I can get @saddlebum to have a chat with her That'll keep her busy for at least half hour.
  20. Nice ride!!! Now what's the chances that I can take up your offer of a test ride this year and does it come with a good lookin passenger?
  21. Made it, even with Marca along. Got to see some good friends, but somehow missed out on some of the GoodByes,,, oh well, saves time next round, we won't have to spend much time on the hello's. Great place to hang out
  22. Might even make it yet
  23. I know, I know, there is a lot of stuff on those shelves, always looking for something new and different, but this stuff is fresh, well kind of fresh meaning less than 12 months. Now paint is another story, I've been trying to get my paint down to a usable level and was doing pretty good and then I ran out of white,,, well now!! do you have any idea that white is not necessarily white and to get to the right one kind of loads up the shelve again??? My kids will have a hayday when they get to divide the spoils.
