1999 Yamaha Royal Star venture running rough
Marcarl replied to FAAQ2's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
How much Seafoam per tank? If the carbs are plugged then a whole can in successive tanks would be called for. Why only 2 plugs? ah go ahead and do all 4, the two ou didn't do are feeling left out now! Carb sync might help, but if you can make sure the carbs are clean first, that is better. Don't be afraid to ask for explanations, often times we assume tooo much. -
Thanks for alll the wishes, it's nice to know you are loved and in this family, that shows. Special thanks to @Yama Mama for telling me I'm the second best hugger, of course I would not want to take the first place away from Moped, for he has to be and remain the best one. And as for looking a bit bamboozled??? well that is easy enough,, for we were nicely following the lead of our 2 guides for the day and watching what it was that they were up to. I cannot go into a long story on this, but I can say it was interesting. We had a super, super day.

Just got a message from Amy (Frogger). Bob is not doing so well, his pneumonia has gotten worse according to Becky. Keep them two in your prayers folks, they need our support.

May the peace that passes all understanding be yours as you reflect on the time you had together and as you can rejoice in having a friend for such a long time. May the two of you meet again in the world to come, and never to be separated again.

Whether the bike runs well or not, one 1,2,3,or 4 cylinders, it will always run 3100 or so at 55mph. It seems that the engine revolutions have a direct impact on the turning of the back wheel because those two items are like,, geared to each other, except for the clutch, which could slip I suppose and so cause a difference in posted revolutions.

To have had a friend for that many years is awesome. To feel the pain of loss is an indicator that the friendship was a good one and enjoyed for many years. True, solid, friends that can be leaned on are not that easy to come by, but going by your testimony, you were blessed by having someone so close. What you now have are memories of the many years you two had together, memories that helped you through good times and tough times, memories that helped to make you who you are today. It's my prayer that the future holds a reunion for you two, that both of you may be citizens of the eternal peace that has been offered and that then your friendship can continue forever.

2019 SpeedoDRD Re-design
Marcarl replied to RDawson's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Now lets see, integration, I think comes from the root word grat, which is the Dutch word for fish bones, inte means to involve with or become part of, and tion is a suffix that means it being acted with or upon. So what you are saying is that you are heavily involved in a fishy industry,,,, interesting!!!!! As for the 3wheeler needing some sort of speedo equipment??? I hear they are working on something that should work well, but so far even a used one from the Apollo couldn't keep up properly. No worries though, by the time you might notice that one is nearby, it's already long gone, so shouldn't have a lasting effect on your comfort. -

I was indicating that poor Ronnie was not to worry about how deep things got, and that if he didn't have a full body suit, that you would be there to bring him to higher ground if needed,,, my my my, how you all manage to read into my words is beyond me!!!!!!!!! but now that you brought it up,,,, all I can say, if the hipwader fits, wear it

Battery kees going out and gets hot
Marcarl replied to Buck Stalker's topic in Poor Man Tips and Fixes
Heat will kill a battery, not really the heat from a motor or engine compartment, but self generated heat from the battery itself, so somehow heat is being generated by the electrical system. Overcharging is not unheard of but it would be a rare thing in our bikes. I lean toward a poor connection as mentioned. Best to check things out as has been mentioned, for a hot battery can explode and cause all kinds of fun, especially if it gets on your person. If it were overcharging then you would most likely have some lights burn out. I would run the bike for a while at high idle, maybe 15-20 minutes and keep an eye on the battery posts for temperature. They should not significantly increase in degrees. -
If they had put gear #6 into those machines, the 1st gen riders wouldn't have any friends, they'd be left soooo far behind that when the 1st gen riders got done with lunch the others would arrive tooo late to even clean up the leftovers.

Throttle cable needs to be lubed and/or is running too tight. It does need a little bit of slack, not much but can't be totally tight. My question for the oil issue, did you have the bike idling on the side stand for some time maybe? Just a straw I'm pulling at here, seeing as you already checked the sight glass and air filters. Did you have the bike straight up when checking the sight glass?

Top of the list around here, it's an all day thing for Becky and Bob. Keep us posted Tom, we are very concerned.

So my day today will hopefully be much different than the previous 6 days. I plan to have this day be a day of rest and relaxation, of family time and some time to be thankful for having a day that is totally different from the other 6 days of the week. It was strongly advised many years ago to keep one day a week totally separate and not to worry about the work and other things that needed to be done or what we thought that needed to be done, so just to leave all that being just that and spend some time just being free from all that. Does that makes sense? Hope so. I'm having another freedom day!!

I don't think he is even attempting to agree with you, he is just being what he is best,,,, A Canadian :canada:!!!!trying to make you feel good

I'm considering a '99 Royal Star Venture, help me out.
Marcarl replied to luvmy40's topic in Watering Hole
Although they go by the same name, 1st and 2nd gens are completely different bikes, not that is a bad thing, but there is a difference.
