  1. Beautiful bike. Sorry I can’t help with the leak, but the experts on that will come along soon.
  2. I only ask because yes as @Condor says he’s a mainstay member and this is the time of year when his experience and advice is invaluable and so much appreciated and anticipated. Hoping all is well. I’m still new here and haven’t met any of you in person yet, but I have a connection with a lot of y’all.
  3. @YoungWayne that machine looks incredible for having been outside. As for warning lights…yep! The center computer gauge cluster will go through a series of sensor checks each time you turn the key to ON and a red warning light will blink and the fault will stay illuminated on the display until remedied. Changing the battery will almost certainly cause a fault as it’s looking for low fluid level, this can simply be eliminated by adding a resistor inline. Also the kickstand down will blink until you are ready to ride and put the kickstand up. If you put it in gear with the kickstand down it will shut off.
  4. Lubricate the switch before taking it apart!
  5. Look toward the end of this thread. Just went through this exact question a few weeks ago. After the bandaid turd polishing it works but still has a gnats hair movement from perfect.
  6. So do Milk Stouts or other Chocolate Stouts actually have milk and or chocolate? I’m allergic to dairy from Cows milk and have always wondered. Also having a Cows milk allergy has always presented a problem when an ingredient claims “milk”. From what animal did that milk come? Because it’s only Cows I have an issue. I haven’t brewed in like two years! I think you’ve inspired me to get back at it.
  7. @YoungWayne glad you got to make the purchase! You may not feel it yet, but in a year from now you’ll be giddy when someone else joins the site having stumbled upon a diamond in the rough such as you did. I’m sure you’ll see it along the way to getting at the carbs, but just in case take a look at the air filter. Mice made a nest out of my air filter on another bike one winter and a few had passed away in there, thank goodness I checked before sucking those little bodies into my intake. another thing to know as you get to checking things out the CLASS is it only works with the key in the ACC position. As for new rubber I agree with the above to get her running before investing, however if you need something so you can move it around the Shinko 777 are a great tire and won’t break the bank either. I got mine off Amazon.
  8. Haven’t seen any posts from @cowpuc in a while just hoping all is ok.
  9. I’ve seen the through the bumper access before but this doesn’t have that. The expedition access to the winch is directly above the spare inside the vehicle through the floor. I’m guessing this design allows for not having to worry about theft and a keyed access hole. Obviously with a truck bed this would be a bad design.
  10. @YoungWayne buy it before somebody else does! Worry about the questions and getting it running after you’ve got it in your possession. For 1k it’s worth at least double - triple that in parts. Not that I suggest parting it out, just saying if it came to that. I bought an 87 last year for just under 2k and I absolutely love the bike.
  11. You need a key? My main key just took a shit and am now using the spare as a primary. The broken one won’t start the vehicle or unlock or lock it; but I found a loophole to keep it as a reliable spare. If I use the remote start (separate FOB) and the door keypad to get in, insert the physical key into the ignition, it will run until l turn it off. This thread makes me want to test out changing to my spare tire on the 2014 Expy in case I actually ever need to.
  12. I knew this was a thing with some sports cars citing weight and space and claiming to rely on run flats, but I never knew it carried over to passenger vehicles. That’s ridiculous.
  13. Thank you all for the kind words and support. The fact that she didn’t try to hide it and feels remorse gives us comfort. We also notice a great deal of mood change for the better now that we’ve taken her off the anti depressants she was prescribed. They were causing the opposite effect, it’s crazy that “suicidal thoughts and tendencies” is a leading side effect of a medicine that’s supposed to make you not sad. It’s hard enough for a rational adult to recognize and admit those feelings let alone a teenage girl.
  14. We’ve all been affected by Covid in different ways. Some have contracted it and fought it or have been lost to it. Others have been the family and friends standing by as a loved one fought or fights the infection. Then there are those of us who have witnessed and or experienced the depression of being in fear of contracting Covid and being isolated for over a year. Since about November my 16yo step daughter whom I’ve raised since age six has been on anti depressants and seeing her dr. for unprecedented seclusion and depression. While some days were better than others she didn’t seem to be getting better and very early this past Friday morning around 1:30am she successfully and severely overdosed on acetaminophen. About 8:00am after I had been at work for two hours she came to her mom and cryingly expressed that she was so very sorry and told her what she had done. The kid then proceeded to vomit and my wife called me and we all met at the ER some ten minutes later. After some tests they said a high level overdose on their scale would be a count of 70 four hours after ingestion, we were about eight hours after ingestion and her count was still well over 100. She got out on an antidote and transferred to Children’s hospital for the over 20 hr treatment, then admitted to an impatient mental health facility. After dropping her off there like a little criminal I balled like a baby all night and the next morning, the inpatient facility was like juvenile hall rather than a hospital. She’s a good kid with zero addiction or substance abuse history. We busted her out on Sunday and has been glued to one of us at all times and is much happier to be home. She’ll be starting outpatient therapy next week. Sometimes you take for granted what you have until you’re faced direct in the eye what you love the most could be gone in an instant. We haven’t been out for a ride yet since she’s been home but maybe tomorrow. She’s all up for it now, but before Friday I hadn’t gotten her on all season. Last year we rode at least every other day. Some warning signs were there but we never expected what could happen.
  15. Good to know it’s an 1157. I’ve got a handful or two of them in my garage so I’ll toss a couple in the maintenance bag. Between Jeep wranglers and trailers I always made sure to have spare 1157 on hand.
  16. You didn’t pick it up for dinner? Never had buzzard but in a pinch I’d grill it up. any link to your windshield? I’m looking for a replacement.
  17. What screen and where did you get it? Mine needs replacing, it’s tinted and crazed and would be nice to see better.
  18. Hey @Freebird this prompted me to look at my profile and I noticed the “services offered” section is gone. When I joined a year ago I didn’t know what this forum was all about, but now I’d be more than pleased to help a member in need along their journey.
  19. Glad you got it figured out. I’ve long been under the suspicion that automotive design engineers are intentionally challenged by management to make the vehicle as least maintainable by the common owner to encourage return work to the dealer. For instance Ford had no other reason to put the transmission fill plug and dipstick less than a hands width from the exhaust pipe. Although as we’ve mentioned before, try getting a dealer to work on something over five years old.
  20. Consider new progressive springs. It took me a few hundred miles to feel them out but WoW what an improvement.
  21. Hopefully you got a Margarita too!
  22. How’s your oil level? My 91 F150 did a similar scenario when it decided to leak all its gear oil out on the highway and took a tow truck ride home. Different animal but worth checking.

I have cassettes! This was my test last year when I bought her. what I’m using with good results is this cassette to Bluetooth thing. Aluratek Universal Bluetooth... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XDDHXRN?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share here’s a clip from the other week during my speaker swap using the Bluetooth adapter. 24. @windrider1983 when you got it to the side and you say dropping it into first or second or stalled immediately. Do you mean with the clutch still pulled or trying to drive off? That would help narrow down the brake path. I didn’t get brake issue from your post, but I see where @saddlebum and @BlueSky are coming from if this only happens when trying to move.
  25. We have a lot of those out here. Pawn shops that is.
