Glad it's getting better. I've had similar stuff happen, even had a stone or something bounce of a tree and hit me in the head. A little different take on safety though I don't follow it like I should. A young man of 9 yrs old asked if he could mow my lawn a few years ago. I finally let him do it after talking with his parents and while we were on vacation. He did a great job so has now been doing it for 3 years now. 2 years ago I heard a story that one of the 'professionals' in the area had lost vision in one of his eyes because of debris so I gave him a pair of saftey glasses while talking to him and his parents. I told him it is his decision but I wanted to make sure he knew the risks. He wears them 95% of the time now when he is doing the lawn. A Lot smater than I.

I read the news for the first time in several weeks, mainly because I'm sick of the BS. Any way the wife looks at me funny and asks "Are we still free?" Simple answer, "do I still have ammo?"

Thinking more I had both saddle bacgs off as I was doing a full bolt check on the bike. I had to replace several chrome platted bolts and yes I used loctite on everything I did.

If I remember right I took off the back seat and used a low profile swivel head to get in there. Luckily my son who is a mechanic had stored his tool box in my garage between jobs. It's been a while since I had to do that. 5 - 6 years. also looking at that picture, is that a crack avbout 2:00 from the bolt head?

The more I think about this the more I remember my uncle's late 40's Indian with a suicide shift. The only Bike that scared the crap out of me. I only got to ride it once when I was about 16 or so and when I put it into 3rd I thought I was going to dump it. really took knowing how to shift that thing before riding it. It looked something like this but I seem to remember it basically with primer on it as he had rebuilt it. I would love to have this but he passed away and my aunt sold it.

What's on my list -- anything I can throw my leg over. It's not so much of what but where at this point. Haven't been able to ride in many states so I would like to hit an many as I can while I can still ride. I would love to be able to take a month or 2 and ride the TAT too.

I have an old Police .38 Special that I would carry, it was my uncle's pistol. That thing is spot on accurate. I can pick it up after a year of not shooting and still pop center at 15 - 20 yrds with a few rounds. My Wife has a .380 semi-auto. I've never really been fond of the smaller Semi's though as I think the tend to jam or misfire more than say a .40 or .45.

Funny, all my kids had a disposable car as their first. My daughter had a Saturn SC2 coupe that was a salvage title. My nephew pulled 2 from a junk yard to rebuild it. She drove it until she was out of college, the roof liner was falling and she'd put a quart of oil in it every month or 2. Drove it from Central MI to Chicago, NYC and FL a few times. Her friends called it the "Purple Mile Eater". My oldes son had a jeep wrangler I picked up from a friend who was going to trade it in. He sold it to me for the low ball price they wanted at the dealership just to piss them off. He sold it while he was in the army. No Accidents so far for the kids. My youngest son was a different story. I found a 1996 Chevy Cavalier convertible and you would think that would qualify. Here's the catch, it had been modified as a low rider and actually appeared in Low Rider Magazine for a Phenix AZ tour. This thing had mirrors under the hood, even some of the engine area and underbody suspension was chromed, Daytona single knock spoke rims on adapters a white ghost paint job and was actually a pretty little car. I got it for under 3K. We put some work into it like putting seat belts back in it and he was on the road. Did well for 2 years then he said someone cut him off and when he swerved to miss them he hit the curb. We all that chrome work underneath was messed up bad and it just wasn't worth getting it back to where it was. I got 4600 from the insurance company because I had paid for a little extra insurance. I used that and got him a high mileage Lexus for 3K. Cool I'm up about $500 after all the work on the Cavalier. What does he do - throws a rod trying to do a burn out. I went and found the biggest POS for under a grand. Anyone could out run that thing let alone worry about him doing that. Never bought him another one after that.

1st Gen Bikes are those from ~1983 - 1993 2nd Gen bike ~1996 - 2013 I believe the passing lights are the 2 lights on either side of the headlight on the Gen 2s. Someone correct me if I'm wrong Click on the history tab to see a history of the line. -

Bluetooth communication - my Cardo Freecom review

Another great review. It's nice to see reviews that are purpose driven also. Myself and a few that I ride with have the Cardo Packtalk Bold series. Love it overall but I like my music on the speakers at the moment. I don't connect it to the SVTC because it would only work as a set of headphones and does not take over full mic/headset capabilities of the system. Would be nice if it did. I have to admit though I have not spent a lot of time trying. -
On iPhones its under Settings/Privacy/Health. By default it is off. I check it after every single Apple update, like the one that installed last night. As far as taking my phone into any location, I carry mine just about everywhere. Primarily work related but sometimes it is used to take pictures, search isle / shelf locations etc.

It's called Bluetooth tagging and it is becoming a 'thing' in stores. If your Bluetooth is on they have chips in the isles and if you stand in an isle for any length of time they can make a logical guess as to what you are looking at. These tags are also getting placed inside product boxes. Sort of like the anti theft strips in boxes. The close the box comes to your phone the more your phone registers it. They now have ones that don't require batteries so that is why it is becoming so popular.

Quite frankly the numbers posted are also skewed and in some cases completely falsified. Acquaintances of ours at church told my wife just yesterday that they went to be tested because a family member they had seen ~2 weeks earlier tested positive. They went to a testing station, filled out the paperwork but had to leave prior to getting swabbed because the wait was so long. They were told to come back the next day and they would be moved to the front of the line. They went back and were told their test was positive. They had not even been swabbed for a test. I don't know what they did but I would have called every single TV/Radio show if it happened to me just to expose the scam. A Politician's medical reference on a recent televised announcement/interview (I believe for Cook County, IL - Chicago) said very clearly that if you test positive for COVID and "die of an alternate cause then you would be classified as a COVID death". Everyone knows the Virus is real, not everyone knows or wants to believe the numbers are what is fake. They are substantially so if you extrapolate this out. I've listed before what happened to my own family in Ohio when my aunt died.

A gentleman gets into a taxi in a large but quaint town. He gives his destination to the driver and the cab pulls away. A little ways through the journey the passenger suddenly remembers a forgotten item and he leans forward to tap on the shoulder of the driver and shouts ‘Hey driver’.... Immediately the driver slams on the gas and begins screaming in terror. The cab is screaming down the street, tearing by other cars. It’s utter mayhem... Eventually the driver slams on the brakes, the cab careens into a parking lot, skidding around pedestrians and screaming children and the elderly. With tyres screeching and smoking to a stop, just inches from a storefront window, the passenger sees the driver with a sheer look of terror, ghostly pale as seven shades of life fell out the driver‘s arse. ’Wow, aren‘t you twitchy today’ says the passenger, trying to regain composure. ’Terribly sorry sir’ says the driver. ‘This is my first day driving cab..... I’ve been driving a hearse for last 20 years’.

I spent about 3 weeks lurking and reading everything I could find here on the SVTC, but I rarely commented. I found the encouragement that was freely given to everyone, regardless of their ride, the true selling factor. I was on a lot of other forums about the Venture and as soon as anyone mentioned a different bike people would go off. That does not happen here, we may get a little testy from time to time but that's part of being in a Family. That's what has developed here, Family. I've not met anyone here face to face, yet. I believe that will change as I've only been a member for a little over a year. The fact that I coughed up another $12 for another year says a lot because I'm a cheap SOB. This is the best $12 you will spend each year.

The 13 K miles on the SVTC was on the Factory Bridgestone Exedra MT. I got 18K Miles on the CT on my '06. Was on a trip when my fuel pump went out the only shop with the part wouldn't work on it because it had the CT on it so I had to buy a new MT for it. Wish I would of known at the time how easy it is to change the fuel pump on that bike. I would've kept the CT on it for a lot more miles.

Skip the 404's I tried 2 sets and got less than 6K on each one on my '06. I tried 2 Michelins during that time with similar results. All set at 34-35 lbs and checked weekly. I rode a lot that year, 18,000 miles roughly. 3 expensive tires in a year was disheartening to say the least. I went Dark on that bike after the 4th tire got less than 7000 mi. I put a ~18,000 on that CT before I was forced to change it while on a long ride. With the SVTC I got 13,000 miles out of the rear running at 39 - 41 lbs.

I noticed the same thing and it was consistent for the first 6000 miles so I just made the mental note and now use the TPMS displayed. Keeping the pressure on the TPMS around 39 lbs I got 13000 out of the factory tire. I am on my second tire using the Bridgestone and I am seeing the same pattern. I haven't been riding much the last month or so which stinks but each time I get on the bike now I check it. Riding every day I would only check the pressure weekly.
