  1. In honor of today let me say thank you to those who served.
  2. That's exactly what I could see happening here. 4x4 trucks crosswise of the street. They will run people driving in the left lane off the road, brake checks, etc. so dirt bikes wouldn't stand a chance.
  3. The whole chase thing is a sticky situation. I've seen departments stop all pursuits, then it seemed like too many people took it as a get out of jail free card and tried to run from everything. I don't know the best approach to it. Lucky I live in a small town so we don't see these mobs run atv's and dirt bikes like this. With the number of redneckes with big trucks on our roads I think problems like this would be solved without police help. Enough crushed bikes would curb the issue.
  4. Wow. As hard as it is to go 24 hrs straight riding I can't imagine it on a dyno. The boredom alone would be murder. Hats off to him and a good cause.
  5. Nor will it be the same afterwards if my suspicions hold true
  6. I finally hit it big and won. 4 whole dollars on a ticket that only cost me $6.
  7. I put one in my 86 because I knew I was going to buy a 2nd gen soon and saved a little cash. I don't have enough miles to give much opinion but works so far. If I was keeping one long term I'd go with Dano's mod. Haven't heard anything that would discourage me from that investment.
  8. Just my 2cents here but before I jumped off the deep end I'd pressure wash that frame to inspect it better, then I'd start measuring for square. If it measures up then you have options to which is easier, fix yours or frame swap. On that note since you don't have a history on the old frame I'd check it too.
  9. I'm definitely not great with carbs. This is the one thing I hope to address on mine at MD with some help.
  10. Congrats on your the 1st ride. I feel your pain on the shoulder...........literally. I finally let them cut me almost 3 weeks ago, living in a sling for 6 weeks. I've started some light therapy that will ratchet up in a few more weeks. Other than boredom and PMS it hasn't been bad. A couple days of moderate pain and since then it hurts less than before surgery. Good luck with yours. I did get restless about 5:30 this morning and walked out to the shop. Turned on the gas, pulled the choke, touched the starter, and let her warm up for a while. It sounded good but it didn't help with the PMS.
  11. I just read of the passing of Arlen.
  12. Very handy piece of equipment. Great for everything from engines to loading heavy things in the truck.
  13. I'm not real knowledgeable on what you need. I recently went dark for the first time and only have a few hundred miles on it. I've never ridden with a sidecar so I'm completely lost there. As far as the wheel I've not heard of a replacement rear that would work, need the gurus on that one.
  14. And you didn't lose the powerball. PS I didn't fill one out either. My daughter is in the running to win with hers in her med school class though, one game out of first. She can win $300 if she wins.
  15. Still got a few cousins in Greenfield and Fortville area.
  16. Since Belmont moved to the OVC it's been a heck of a rivalry with Murray. I really don't follow basketball much but this Morant kid has the country buzzing. I see you're in Indy, I was hatched just east of there in Greenfield.
  17. Our local 12 seed Murray State put a beat down on 5 seed Marquette. I had to eat crow when Yammer Dans W VA beat us last year, sure was fun messing with Dan though.
  18. There are few options to choose from, the BFG is popular and is nearly an inch smaller in diameter giving you somewhat of a lower gear. I went with the Nexen being taller as I installed leveling links and didn't want to lose height. The Nankeng is the same size as the Nexen if I remember correctly. I think there's a couple more but these are what I looked at.
  19. Yep the smart one. I probably play lotto once or twice a year when the pot is huge. That really makes no sense when the small pots are enough to change my finances pretty drastically. Go figure.
  20. You got it right, one step at a time. It's still winter for most of us and everybody is suffering from PMS and rider brain is in overdrive. Give it a month, bikes will be rolling and the suggestions will slow up a little. As far as the PMS we get to ride most of the winter here but I'm 2 weeks post-op and the bike won't get to move for at least another 6 weeks. I don't know how those snow bound Yankees park them half the year.
  21. Nobody won it so I guess I'll try again. I'm persistent.
  22. KY is pretty easy with only an ID-OD inspection needed. You take it to Sheriff's dept where they compare the VIN to the title and record the odometer reading. Vehicle vin only. It costs $5 to do it at the office or a little more if a deputy comes to you. The biggest headaches I've seen are if you don't have the seller sign the proper transfer paperwork which have to be notarized or the sellers name has changed. I ran into that on my RSV when the seller had remarried and signed her new name on the title. It was instate but 75 miles and a couple counties away. It took me two days to get in touch with her (that scared me) but she just faxed a copy of the marriage license to our courthouse and all was good. Another weird one was an older Mustang I bought for my oldest, transfer went fine but the new title came in showing less mileage than the car. 10,000 less if I remember right. I called the courthouse and since the car was 15 years old they didn't worry about it. I sold it to a friend for his daughter later and disclosed that, she crashed it so no big problems.
  23. I matched one number, that won't buy no bike parts.
