  1. The final plan ended up that my roommate and I are driving her Chevy Cavelier towing 8' x 12' trailer with the Dragonslayer Bike tied down to Pa via Sklid-in in WV and MeanDog's Memorial in WV. Picking up Ebay bike in PA on Monday and taking the scenic route back. Chris don't know it yet but I think I'll let her drive the cage, trailer and ebay bike back via interstate and I think I'll ride the Dragonslayer back via the Skyline Drive/Blueridge parkway route. Lucky me.
  2. Just for your info, Larry (way2muchfun4u2) the starter of this thread had a wreck on his bike totalling it out. I bought a 84 VR from him off ebay for a parts bike. But, according to his wife/girlfriend he's had some serious injuries and is not riding at this time.
  3. How much did the bike on the trailer weigh? How did it handle towing it?
  4. Did I do that??????? my bad???????????
  5. Yea, that too. Great information from very knowledgeable sources in these threads. But sometimes I can't help but wonder if I over post. If I'm not riding I'm thinking about riding and to keep from talking too much I write to much.
  6. General Concensus of opinion believes I would be crazy to attempt such a feat of madness. I quess I knew the answer to this all along and I'm not going to attempt to do it. I just thought it would be neat if I could do this trip that way. Time to consider other options. Thanks for the input. __________________

  8. I have been told I can be somewhat infectous.
  9. My bike trailer is the same one as yours, reckon it would carry a VR?

I may not attempt it on this trip but I believe my next venture idea has been hatched. Just think of the possibilities. 13. Thought about that and that might still be an option. Considering the cost of gas I was trying to maximize ride time and minimize travel expenses. Box truck from Pa to Ga one way is about $600.00 plus fuel at $4.00 plus per gallon with truck mpg what 6 to 10 mpg.
  14. Just occurred to me that this thread hasn't heard from original poster in a while. whozleft asked a simple question that was answered in the first reply. And the rest of us have been going on for days with our own articulate dissertations :rant:on the intricate details and nuances for the hydralic actuated clutch engagement system. While I find all the aforementioned disserations highly informative, helpful and entertaining:detective: I can't help but imagine what Whozleft must be thinking if he is even still monitoring the thread. As a writer I know I'm as guilty as anyone :whistling:of going on and on and struggle with my wordyness ( :icon_smile_questionis that a word?) every time I write. My only defense is just that because I'm a writer I love to watch myself talk.
  15. thanks Condor, big help
  16. Not really, been there done that, weren't no fun. Don't wish it anyone else either. Just wondered if it were possible.
  17. Not sure how many are on my side at this point in time. That's why I'm asking the question. Just wondered if it was possible.
  18. I'm trying to get a non running 84VR from PA to GA. What I really would like to do is ride my 87 VR :7_6_3[1]:up there via Blue Ridge Pkwy/Skyline Drive towing a trailer that I can load 84 VR on and tow back via interstate. Is it possible to come up with some trailer configuration considering weight/load distribution to safely tow one VR with another one? Does anyone have any experience doing this, is it possible. Does anyone have any advice? __________________

  20. Once again saved by the experience of the experts. Had not thought of suppressing and retaining the plunger. I'll give it a try. I found a pair of lock ring pliers at sears that comes with interchageble tips. But, none of the tip sets are long enough so I was planning to make a longer set out of two matching allen wrenches and filling points on the end. But, you said you notched your pliers, can you post a pic showing the shape of the notch on the plier tips?
  21. Yea you ought to, Condor. Or better yet since i'm about to do this on project bike when new slave shows up maybe I'll use your method, take pics and post. However, I'm still wrestling with getting the c clip out of the master to rebuild the master.:bang head:
  22. Sorry, I forgot to mention the bike has been sitting foir a while and is not running and will need to be towed. Thanks anyway Guindalf
  23. On an earlier thread I posted that I had bought an 84 VR off Ebay from a fellow member. Now I'm weighing options on how to get the bike from Central PA to Atl, Ga. And I was wondering if any members from that area were planning a trip south by cage and would consider picking the bike up and towing it south. Of course I would offset thier travel expenses by paying them for thier time and trouble. I would also be glad to meet them down south closer to Atlanta if they were not planning to come to or through Atlanta. Any takers?
  24. see my recent thread "New Project bike xvz1200 Yics?" There is some info on bleeding system, speed bleeders from Condor He is the speed bleeder expert according to experts.
