  1. Thanks Condor. Got my battery today. Now, can you send some warmth and sunshine? RR PS. Yeah, you probably can. It will just take 3 months for it to get here.
  2. Snowing faithful now about twice a week. I think we get more winter in feb and march then any other month. I got mud knee deep out here when it's not snowing. Bike been setting for 4 months makes for riding skills getting a little rusty.Nice to know my first maneuver will be that creek.Water still cold in march.
  3. hi all could anyone tell me at what milage should you change the u-joint on my '99 rsv? i have over 42,000 miles on mine, it seamed ok when i pulled the rear end, driveshaft and swingarm off and greased everything a couple of months ago. fixen to put about 2,ooo miles on it next weekend and will to going to the international rally in july. just rather change it now than on the side of the road. thanks in advance don

    Only 5 months to go!!

HEY!!........the 2008 VentureRider Rally is only 5 months away!!!! HURRY....get registered!!! Buy a patch!!! Reserve your campground or motel!! Come see some of what Ontario has to offer!! Buy your raffle tickets for the Bushtec trailer that Squidley seems to think he has a chance at winning!! Bwahahahahahaha.....like that's gonna happen!!
  5. I just noticed today that my left lower fairing has a crack in it. About halfway down going about 2 inches towrds the inside. I can't see any areas where the lower may have been hit by anything. Has anyone else had this problem? The bike is just 3 months old... Jerry
  6. Greetings, I was just wondering for storing the bike over winter is it better to have the gas tank full or pretty close to empty. Mine just has 2 bars showing on the guage right now. I was thinking about that gas just sitting there for 2 to 3 months. If it was better to start the season with a fresh tank. Or does it make a difference. Thank you. bossman
  7. why is it that you have to pay your insurance on time or your policy will be cancelled, but if you have an accident (Sept 6 2007), it takes so long (4 months and waiting) to get the cheque for damages to my bike that the other party caused.
  8. Guys...need some input here if ya'll don't mind. I'm lokking at buying a 1992 Ford F-150 XLT extended cab fully loaded and not a 4x4. 5.8L engine, auto trans with trailer towing pkg. color matching canopy. Extremely good condition (from what I can tell) and has 180000 Kms (just over 100000 miles) It's got the captains chairs, air cond. cruise, tilt, pw & pl ... near new tires, new battery (I helped the guy install that today). I'm gonna test drive it tomorrow. What I need to know is what kind of problems these ford trucks are prone to. What should I be checking for? I've only had 2 ford trucks in my life, the first was a new '76 which I only kept for 6 months and the other was a '78 that I bought in '85 and I only kept that for 2 months...(traded it in on a new Mazda). This Ford I'm looking at is on the second owner...he's had it for almost 3 years. The first owner used it mostly to tow a camper trailer to Arizona once a year and back. While there, it basically sat for 3 month's. The current owner also towed a trailer but they bought a bigger trailer so the went out and got a bigger truck. He's asking $4000 OBO here's a pic
  9. Despite 26 degree temp.....Took delivery of my RSV this morning; did my pre-ride checks of the bike; and hit the road. Put 350 miles on her today and it was a sweet ride I tell ya! I am very impressed with the handling and power of this RSV. It meets all of my expectations and then some. Now I get to spend the next 2 months cussing our Winter weather here and doing the "wax on-wax off" routine with the bike. C'mon Spring...... Ride safe all......Regards....Boomer
  10. I am new to this website and new to RSV. 25 years ago when my daughters were born I quit riding. The Girls are married and it was time to return. Two months ago I bought a 2000mm, I have loved the looks, styling and was patient and willing to wait for one to cross my path. Everything that I heard said this was the best ride out there especially for the passenger. Because I was away so long, I took the advice to get my ride skills back so in the last 2 months I have put on about 2,000 miles (city & highway) and feel comfortable with my skills again. However, I have been reading on this site the last couple of days how hard it is to carry a passenger. I am very confused, did I make a mistake or was my research correct? When I get my wife back the bike after 25 years and we lay it down, there may not be a second chance to make a good impression. The question is this, is it that hard and what are the any tricks?
  11. I've looked through so many threads on here that now I'm confused. So I'll just ask a direct question in hopes of getting a link. I want to buy the Sirius SV3-TK1 Stratus receiver for my 05 RSTD. What I'm looking for is a handlebar mount for that particular receiver that also will hold the antenae. Like the XM roadie has. Any help will be appreciated. Also want to let folks know with Sirius you can buy a years subscription, get an extra month free and can put your service on hold for up to 5 months without being charged a reconnection fee. So during the winter months those of us who are fair weather riders won't be charged for service were not using. Mike
  12. Finally getting a few things done on the RSTD:) 1) Have had my VIP trunk on for several months 2)Installed 2 sets of blinking break light I-pod LEDs on license plate bracket. 3)installed KROMEWERKS mufflers (waiting for 30 degree slash tips to be delivered) BOY I LIKE THESE PIPES. 4) Installed engine bar brackets. You can stand on them bars now. 5) Installed break/turn/stop lights on lower edge of VIP trunk. Havent hooked up yet ---will do that tomorrow. 6) tried to order rack for VIP trunk:confused24: ---was told new rack coming out in a couple of months --said old rack was cracking trunks. DID I SAY I LIKED THE KROMEWERKS MUFFLERS:cool10: :cool10: ---Buzzard
