  1. Brad wanted me to post up and see if anyone has an antenna for his 86' that he can use till his comes in!? His is on order, but won't be in till after we leave for West Virginia on Thursday! If you do call me on my cell, it's in my profile. Thanks in advance!!
  2. I hate to say this but i'm realy thinking about selling my bike to buy a camero.I will let it go for $2000 anyone interrested in buying leave me a message or call me at 716-223-0092 ask for corey
  3. OK folks.....I'm pooped tonight. Been trying to work on some things that you requested. One was to update the Assistance List....that is done. Another was to make the search button consistent. I also discovered that the Google search was missing so I added it back. Now, how many of you turn the forum side menus off? If you do, are they off for you now? I always leave them on but no in testing, they won't go off. I'll work on it some more tomorrow night.
  4. I rode to work this morning, parked the bike, covered it and went to the office. One of the other guys that rode today came in and told me that I had a nail in the tread of my front tire. I have Ride On in my tires so---Do I pull the nail out or leave it there? Should I wait till I get home to do it, just in case it goes flat? HELP!!
  5. Headed out for a ride yesterday and thought about stopping at the awful-waffle for breakfast. Pulled into the lot a did a nice low speed turn into the parking space...which was on a slight incline. I try to park "backed in" so when I leave I can just pull stright out. I now have the bike parked facing down the slight incline...no problem I think...just leave the bike in gear so she won't roll. Put the kick stand down and begin to get off when I feel that awful feeling something is just not right:confused24:. Slowly the bike starts to roll foward and as it does the kick stand folds up. I guess you can figure what happens next....As good fortune whould have it the front engine guards and rear bag guards did there job and prevented the bike from fallling all the way over. I practiced the "pick the bike up, lets try to look cool, ment to do that" technicque and sucessfully righted my steed with no damage to the bike....only my ego. Lesson learned...BE SURE the bike is in gear when parking on a hill or don't park going downhill. Just goes to show even after 30 years of riding you can still do something stupid. On yea....I decided to get breakfast someplace else. Had a nice ride (75 mile) after all that.

    Introducing myself

Hi everyone! I have purused this site multiple times; however, it has taken me a little time to join. I've been riding off and on with SledgeHammer for many years now. Although I have only been to one meet and eat; I have thoroughly enjoyed meeting many of the other Venture Riders. Of late, I had the pleasure to have Beer30, RiderDuke, MuffinMan, and MiniMuffin as guests at our home. The comraderie toward us and among each other has been very heartwarming. After completing the Color tuning and eating some of the best ribs I've ever had, we settled into playing Wii. This went on into the night for quite some time, as some of us are very competitive; I will leave it to the imagination on who this might be, but his initials are SH. I hope to get to know many more of you, and although I had made plans to be at the meet and eat in Williamsburg, VA, my niece has decided to throw my brother a surprise birthday party that conflicts with this event. It's very important that I be there, but I will miss being with you all. I even bought a new "She Devil" jacket for the event, but I'll just have to save it for another time. Ride Safe!
  7. what is the procedure for installing the barons handlebar extensions? I removed handlebars does not seem to be enough play in cables to put extensions in. Also do i leave the rubber spacers that that rest against fairing in?

  10. I copied this from my local chapters forum of the SCRC. Please read and if you wish leave a message on her web site. Keith. Good morning, I would like to ask everyone to do me a huge favor. We would like all of our members and guests to go to this website and leave a message for a special young lady. Angelica has little time left but has an incredible outlook on life. Please check out the website and her story. We are assisting on this fundraiser in the background. I have been asked to take her for a short ride on the 12th during the fundraiser to help cover the costs associated with illness. So get on there , please and sign her guest book. She reads it everyday before bed and I want to fill it up with SCRC members. http://www.azmiracle.com/ Regards and a very Merry Christmas to all of you http://people.delphiforums.com/nofear37/John_Tricia.jpg "This country has lost control of its borders. 11. Eating Tips for the Holidays 1. Avoid carrot sticks. Anyone who puts carrots on a holiday buffet table knows nothing of the Christmas spirit. In fact, if you see carrots, leave immediately. Go next door, where they're serving rum balls. 2. Drink as much eggnog as you can and quickly. You can't find it any other time of year but now. So drink up! Who cares that it has 10,000 calories in every sip? It's not as if you're going to turn into an 'eggnog-aholic' or something. It's a treat. Enjoy it! Have one for me. Have two. It's later than you think. 3. If something comes with gravy, use it. That's the whole point of gravy. Gravy does not stand-alone. Pour it on. Make a volcano out of your mashed potatoes. Fill it with gravy. Eat the volcano. Repeat. 4. As for mashed potatoes, always ask if they're made with skim milk or whole milk. If it's skim, pass. Why bother? It's like buying a sports car with an automatic transmission. 5. Do not have a snack before going to a party in an effort to control your eating. The whole point of going to a Christmas party is to eat other people's food for free. Lots of it. Hello? 6. Under no circumstances should you exercise between now and New Year's. You can do that in January when you have nothing else to do. This is the time for long naps, which you'll need after circling the buffet table while carrying a 10-pound plate of food and that vat of eggnog. 7. If you come across something really good at a buffet table, like frosted Christmas cookies in the shape and size of Santa, position yourself near them and don't budge. Have as many as you can before becoming the center of attention. They're like a beautiful pair of shoes. If you leave them behind, you're never going to see them again. 8. Same for pies. Apple, pumpkin and mincemeat - have a slice of each. Or, if you don't like mincemeat, have two apples and one pumpkin. Always have three. When else do you get to have more than one dessert -- Labor Day? 9. Did someone mention fruitcake? Granted, it's loaded with the mandatory celebratory calories, but avoid it at all cost. I mean, have some standards. 10. One final tip: If you don't feel terrible when you leave the party or get up from the table, you haven't been paying attention. Reread tips: Start over, but hurry, January is just around the corner. Remember: 'Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body. But rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in hand, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming 'WOO-HOO what a ride!' Happy Holidays!
  12. If Santa was Redneck He’d prob’ly still be kind Though putting children on his knee Would not be wise of mind If Santa was Redneck His way of spreading cheer Wouldn’t be with gifts by sleigh But by Chevy full of beer If Santa was Redneck The chimney he’d forego And leave the beer out on the porch Where the frigerator goes If Santa was Redneck No cookies would we leave Just a can of Copenhagen He could roll up in his sleeve If Santa was Redneck We’d know it when he came The belching, scratching, passing gas There’d be no one else to blame If Santa was Redneck Christmas day would be a blast We’d all sit out upon the porch And pass around the Pabst :rotfl::rotfl:

    Trunk or no trunk....

Greetings all, So I've seen several ventures without the trunk and I kinda like the look. Before I attempt the eight bolt modification I was wondering if anyone in here has already removed the trunk and if so can you share some pics with me and explain the process?? I plan on putting on an aftermarket seat but leave the antennas in place so I still get good reception...any thoughts would be great! ....and yes my wife might not enjoy the ride as much but if it's a long trip I'll need the trunk anyway and back on it would go. - Dave
  14. :900[1]:I'll be heading out west from Casper, WY on the 14th or 15th for a week. Since I'm travelling solo I would like to invite anyone interested in joining me for a portion of the ride. My plan is to leave Casper and either cross South Pass and cut down through Flaming Gorge or down through Medicine Bow and Saratoga. Either way ending up at Vernal, UT. From Vernal to Duchesne then either Colton or Huntington, UT to Fairview, and then Nephi. From Nephi to Ely, NV. From Ely either US-6 & 95 or US-50 but ending up at Sparks to Susanville, CA. From Susanville to Redding then Arcata. Then up the coast to Crescent City and turn inland to Grants Pass, OR to visit a friend. From there to Roseburg and Coos Bay to visit family for a couple of days. Leave Roseburg probably on the 21st heading east (route undecided) across southern Idaho to Jackson, WY and back to Casper by the 23rd. Anyone like to make suggestions or ride along? PM or email me. Note that I avoid riding the concrete slab if at all possible. Just takes all the fun out of it for me. I ride anywhere from 300 to 600 miles a day depending on what looks interesting and camp out along the way. Jeff

  16. Jake came home on leave this weekend. Last night he and his girlfriend were traveling home on his bike (just a few miles) and a deer ran out in front of them. They were not able to stop and hit the deer. Jake has +/- 50-60 stitches in his head and will not be able to get back on base before his leave is up. He has been in contact with the Staff at NAS P-Cola. We will take him beck when he is released from the hospital. Loraine and Jake both have quite a bit of road rash. Many sore days ahead for the both of them. No broken bones. I'm Praying for their full recovery and that they go easy on him at the base. Many Blessings so far, They are both breathing and have no broken bones, Thank you Jesus. He called me at 12:59am wanting me to come help him, I called 911 from his phone at 1:05am. Thats pretty good time. I was in bed and had to drive 3 miles. Pict #2 is deer hair sticking out from between the wheel and the tire.
  17. Should you turn the fuel switch to the off position when you're not riding, or is it OK to leave it in the on position? Thanks, Big D
  18. I want to purchase a battery charger for my 06 RSV. I want to leave this on all the time so when I pull into the garage I can hook it up to the extensions. I am not too swift when if comes to the the "electricals" of the bike (I can wire my house...but know nothing about the electricals of a bike). So I don't want to damage the battery. There are battery tenders and battery tricklers. What do people recommend, why, and what do you have. I'm not sure of the difference. A very popular product in this area is called Battery Tender. It has 3 versions: Battery Tender Jr; Battery Tender Plus; and Battery Tender Jr. Waterproof. I have a full battery charger at home, but I want something I can attach to the battery and just leave there and plug in if I don't ride it for a week or 2. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks Painter
