This is a great letter from a Colts fan , a must read!!!! It happened... The Colts have made it to the Super Bowl. Quietly, humbly, efficiently they came out in the second half and delivered the knockout blows needed to beat the pesky New York Jets. Every Colts fan has been salivating for this for two seasons since the last trip to Miami . Every Colts fan is ready, ecstatic that his team has made it this far. As the clock ticked down in the AFC Championship game, the realization hit me that another Super Bowl win would fully validate the career of my favorite athlete (do I need to say his name?). And then... The Saints come marching in—guns blazing, classy group, everything you could want out of a football team. Everyone knows the story, Katrina hits, devastating the city of New Orleans ... Who do the people turn to but their lovable loser football team. They back them, despite the fact that they’ve never been to a Super Bowl, that they’ve had more losing seasons than I’m sure fans care to recall... The city pulls itself up from its bootstraps, and this team gives it something to stand behind, to root for, to be so proud of. Which then leads to the question many Colts fan ask themselves... Why did we get stuck playing the most likeable football team in the history of lovable losers? I won’t cut corners here I’m die hard. I hope it’s a great game. I hope Peyton throws for 400 yards and five touchdowns and solidifies himself as one of the all-time greats. In the end, this game is different from any of the others. I don’t hate the Saints. In fact, I’d say they might be my second favorite team. I don’t want to see Drew Brees being carted off the field at any point in the game, or any other Saints player for that matter. I don’t want any questions about who the better team was when that final whistle blows. I want a hard-fought battle between two of the classier organizations in the NFL. I hope both teams walk off the field with their heads held high. I hope fans of both of these franchises cherish this game, this season and the careers of so many great players who will take the field on Super Bowl Sunday. Which brings me to admitting maybe the hardest thing to say as a Colts fan... If we gotta lose to someone, might as well be you guys... There, I said it. Now I look like a sentimental softy. I’m sure my die-hard status will be in question to many a Colt’s fan... I don’t care. Your story is amazing and your team might be bigger than any one game or even the man(ning) I have idolized since he stepped onto a football field. Best of luck to all of you, the team, the fans, and the New Orleans community. I’ve rooted hard for the Saints every game of the season, how could you not? This will be the exception. In 1885 in Kingston; there was a group of British soldiers that were bored and decided to play a sort of hockey that we use today. That's how hockey was invented. Hockey wasn't invented by on specific person or group. hockey is played with a stick. for hockey However, it is generally accepted that Scottish settlers were the first to play it in Nova Scotia in the late 1700s. At this time there was mass emmigration into Canada of people from the Highlands of Scotland who imported many of their traditions, culture and pastimes. Ice Hockey became a Winter version of a game known as Shinty which has been played in the Highlands of Scotland for centuries. There are many similarities, most notably the stick or caman. The word 'puck' is also derived from old Scots, meaning to hit. There is also an unofficial game still played in Canada which is known as Shinny, a name derived from Shinty. There is also a claim that Hockey is a relation of Hurling which started in Ireland as the sport of Hurley. However, the conncetions are tenuous as mass emigration to Canada form Ireland did not occur until the mid to late nineteenth century. The equipment also differs considerably. Of course, there are other stories.Some say the MicMac indians played a form of hockey in Nova Scotia when the Europeans arrived. In Windsor, Nova Scotia, there is a school called Kings View Academy. A teacher there supposedly took his students out to the pond behind their school and asked them to make up a sport. The game they played became hockey.Another interesting story says that ice hockey was first played in 1885 by British soldiers stationed in Canada. Guards who were guarding the Parliament building in Canada used to sneak off to a nearby field and play ice hockey. Some say they started by whacking rocks with a stick to stay warm. Two towns claim that the first game of hockey was played there. The first is Kingston, Ontario, and the second is a small town in New Brunswick, both of which are in Canada. It is generally accepted that the current rules for hockey evolved from students at McGill University in Montreal ("the McGill Rules") in 1875. Around 1920 the NHL was formed by Canada. It grew. Rules evolved. For example in the 1920's you were aloud to pass forward.

I got home yesterday from a 10 day business road trip out west, my wife and my daughter are sick, I'm fighting off a cold or something?, my dog has a terrible case of the fleas, & I find out due to "Corporate Restructuring" my job is in serious jeopardy. I finally get home in the evening, no beer in the house:bang head: , and I sit and watch my beloved Tarheels drop their third straight game. At least my hotrod is still in the garage, I think I heard it crying last night wanting me to take it for a ride. OK, I am finished venting. Thanks for listening. Dave

I just got a G1 last week.. I have not used it yet, but downloaded GPS Tracker, it has an associated web site so friends and family can keep track of where you are when off on a trip. I also have installed Google Sky Map, NBA game time lite, movies by fixter, and My Coupons. So far I have only loaded free apps. Anyone else with an Android compatible phone?

It was a gorgeous day here today, went to mid 40s f and sunny so I decided I would go for a nice ride around the parks. Wins 2 Losses 0 Offense and defense started sluggish, but developed a rhythm quickly into the first quarter. They got one safety on us, because they punted the ball to the 2 yard line, Jamar (QB) tried to get the ball out of the end zone, but didn't have enough time. We kept putting the points on the board though. The Maulers talk a lot of trash despite losing their first game 70-6, and losing to us 59-2. Final Score - Bruisers 59 Maulers 2 My mother and stepfather rode their Harley's out from Michigan to watch the game and hang out. We had a good time riding up and down the Mississippi shoreline. My venture didn't get too many miles though. All of our babysitters were out of town. It wasn't a total bust, we got a 91 Sunbird Convertible, and got to cruise along with my parents with the top down. Bridge City scored a touchdown and a field goal right away. I made two mistakes by hiking the ball over the QB's head twice in a row. The bruisers defense was excellent, giving the offense a chance to get acts together and started putting points on the board. We developed a rhythm, and the game went really well. The knights were kept to 9 points until the final 5 seconds of the game, where they had a break-away pass for a touch down, but it was too late for the Knights.

OK, its official now, Business Week, mag. has finally said the the Ethenol Industry is an economic bust. And the stuff actually lowers MPG on most vehicals. Nothing but a political shell game !!! ( but we all knew that ) :stirthepot::stirthepot::stirthepot::doh::doh: And, they added that the stuff is damaging a lot of engines !!!:witch_brew:

I went to the game this morning. It was the earliest game in LSU history, anywhere and especially in Death Valley. We took care of Ap State pretty easily, even though it was billed as the "Clash of the Champions".

I'm thinking of catching a game at Progressive Field (didn't you guys used to call it Jacobs field?) on August 30th. I've been able to watch my Seattle Mariners in Chicago but I'd like to go to Cleveland to see a game. It's an afternoon game so it starts at 3:55 P.M. So, do any of you Northern Ohio folks want to watch a baseball game? I'd love to ride up and catch a game with some of you guys. Bob

Didn't tell y'all that a couple of weeks ago I was at my local club watching the Keno numbers coming and going on the screen. Now I know this game is all about luck and chance, but I started to see a trend in numbers clumping together in blocks. So I thought - "What the heck. See what change I have in my pocket and pick 6 numbers. You never know." Found $3, so I took 3 $1 games with the same 6 numbers for each game. Blocked 27 28 36 37 38 and 39. You're never going to guess what happened. You got it. $1,800 there and then. Spent it already. That was about the third time I'd ever played the game, and haven't been tempted since.

Cowboys now 5-0, BTW Texans are also 5-0. Do I see a Texas Super Bowl??? Excellent last two seconds of the game, Folk makes one 53 yd field goal to get called back then makes the second to win the game. Way to go Cowboys.
