  1. This was my first bike week with not only the RSV, but riding all over with my wife on back. Was good to get away. The weather this week is expected to be perfect, so naturally I won't be in Daytona this upcoming week. I left Friday and just came back a short while ago. It was in the 40's with raw winds when I left Friday. Anyway... Saturday morning My wife and I went to the international speedway where they had test rides for Kawasaki, Victory, Suzuki, Yamaha and Indian. I rode the victory vision a few years back, and among the kawi bike was the vulcan voyager and the FJR. I chose the 2014 Indian Chieftan. this bike rides like a bicycle. easy handling, low to ground for us shorter folk, but not cramping the big guys, balanced well, has radio, cruise, LED lights. push button/key FOB start, trip meter, digital read out. 5.5 gallon tank that prefers premium. this bike was FUN !!! radio was loud, shifting and braking ultra smooth. I was making super tight, hug the line turns in first gear and not a hiccup. same for down the road when I was making speedier turns and it just stayed where I wanted it. Of course for me, I always want to see if I can make a tight u-turn, so towards the end ( so they wouldn't kick me off), I waited then made a nice, smooth, easy u turn. The bike handles like a ballerina. it was truly a pleasure to ride this bike. Like Victory, they are owned by POLARIS, and they made a sharp looking and smooth feeling bike. Later on in the afternoon I met with Steve K and his wife. (M61A1MECH ) they treated us to a nice Mexican place called La Fiesta, which is a must for anyone who like Mexican cuisine. Sadly we parted ways afterwards, but I always like getting together with them. they are both wonderful people. I had not seen another venture until this morning, when in the same facility I was staying at had a gray venture parked close to mine. We took off for Destination Daytona on Steve request. today was picture perfect weather and we got there early. On the way out, the lines getting in, were 1-2 miles deep and counting. We all know these events are catered for the HD crowd, and more power to them. As usual, either J&P and Kuryakyn had metric stuff, but anything custom, was 90% geared for the HD For me, being able to ride in the chaos with my wife on the back, safely, riding the Indian and seeing Steve and Marilyn made it so worth going out there. My RSV, named Patrice, handled the crowded streets, parking, etc like a champ. Slow speed riding was not an issue as previous thought it would be. Patrice handled main street and the surrounding areas like a champ. if anyone is reading this and in Daytona, please ride one of the 3 Indians. You'll love it. And dine at La Fiesta.... Thanks for reading
  2. Sorry to hear about your loss. Prayers to you and your family.
  3. Hey Mike congrats on your new home! I am on board with all those that said about moving, it stinks. We will all wait for you to settle in. Good luck
  4. I know others like the MP3 and iPod, which I do have an MP3. However, I for one really like my CD player as I can burn mixed tunes and shuffle and just have a grand ole time. I wouldn't want to be without one.
  5. That is real nice looking, and I am OK with that coming out. Hope it is NOT air cooled. Will it have a cassette deck??
  6. If it indeed is an air cooled bike, wouldn't that be taking a step backwards?
  7. thought and prayers for you and your family.
  8. interested in the carb covers. I will progress from there. please add me to the list
  9. With over 1300 views Dan, this better be a good one!!!
  10. Randy, Thank you for your input, insight and generous offer. If not for the commitment to the IR, I would be at Asheville as it is one of my favorite places on the East coast. Sadly, I am not in a position where I can take too much time off so close together. I will keep this on the radar for next time.
  11. For those on this site who are not familiar with Steve/ M61A1MECH, let me fill you in... He is an extremely kind and giving person, both he and his wife. He does TOP notch work! doesn't take short cuts and is very thorough. If you get anything from him, or meet him,you will see he is an awesome person, who takes pride in his work. You will not be disappointed. ( Steve, was that all I was supposed to say about you)?
  12. well said Brian, and BTW you were missed today. A great ride to webster
  13. My advice would be to add on a LED light bar to yours and save the money to take your girl out. I have one on mine, came with the bike. Does it light up? Yes. Will it catch anyone's attention to make them pay much attention? Not in my opinion. These are a costly accessory that is more cosmetic than practical, IMO. I asked Steve to work with me on a light bar add on, and that makes a HUGE difference, not just in visibility, but in wallet!!! That's my
  14. I would also recommend dental floss for easy and methodical removal of badges
  15. YAY!!!! I contributed a technical piece that the gurus said was right!! Woo hoo.....
  16. When the bike is running the rods will move up and down to the engine. You are looking to be as accurate as possible with carbs 1&2, 3&4 and then sync L.side and R side. Maybe someone else can chime in with more knowledge, but you still will have them " jumping" slightly. When hitting throttle, they will jump higher, but should settle down fairly quickly and evenly.
  17. I was thinking the same thing!!! Sending it to you ha ha...
  18. Nice bike for sure
  19. Totally agree with Lilbeaver and cruiser. Any anticipation and or light gripping will have the mark go off to the left or right if a lefty. Practicing dry firing ( check and make sure no ammo or mag-as some guns will fire with a bullet in chamber and no mag) It takes some practice, but remember, breathe, smooth trigger control and hold the gun afterwards. After some time your body/ gun will adjust to your natural comfort level. A. .40 will pull side to side and usually a .45 will go up, or higher. Short barrels and short grips also are part of the equation, so it's important to find the right firearm for your hand size. Good luck and safe shooting....
  20. Come down to certain parts of Florida, where there is not a crown of a particular band of car. THEY ALL drive like that in my area. Cataracts surgery, poor or no eyeglasses, hunched over the wheel, air tank in next seat with the line in the nose, smokers, wanna be gang bangers in a lime green 1979 2 door caprice with 55 inch spinners. It never ends here... Try getting behind or better yet driving a Chevy aveo. Worst car on the planet. Makes the Prius look like a Ferrari. 0-60 MPH in little under a week....
  21. Looks awful from the pic. Maybe better in person...
  22. Bought a used 765T off Fleabay, 70$. Came with mount, suction, cigarette lighter. Works very well. Not waterproof so a good ole Baggie and a rubber band keeps it oh so dry. Very inexpensive solution, IMO
  23. Do the therapy.... That's going to help for sure. Good luck.
