  1. Both. Dion and Steve are extremely valuable sources for your lights and needs. Dion, is like a portable road service and Steve is also unbelievable. If any time they can help you or work with you, you can not go wrong!!!!
  2. Yes Dan and I am deeply appreciative of you calling me to inquire. Although others may not know why, that means a great to me. You're awesome. Bring your 2nd. Gen to Florida anytime. Trust me, it'll make it...
  3. Eck is one of the nicest people. However, I must admit that there are many excellent people on this site. Eck and Konnie are on that list. Friendly, knowledgable, easy to chat with. We all love Eck!!!
  4. TO ALL... THIS IS NOT ME THANKFULLY. YAMMER DAN just called me and had no clue what he was speaking of.... I certainly is my year and model bike, however is am not sure who this bike is affiliated with. All I can say is thank you to everyone who has been thinking of me. I am A-OK in that regard.... Puts things in perspective. My wife just lost her job, and this is in the middle of buying a home. We may not get it now. Although we are having extreme difficulties, it doesn't reach the level of this individual. If I can find out more I will post. My BIL is a deputy and my neighbor is a state trooper... Thanks again for your caring. Another reason why I won't leave this site. B---
  5. Ha ha..good one Vincent. Actually, a older chap in Sebring, Florida.... That's Dion territory ... His wife fell in love with the kawasaki voyage and I guess after 8.... Yes 8 wings, he wanted something different. He really did take excellent care of this bike. I miss the RSV, and was on her today and will be again tomorrow, but I had to try the wing now, while I was still able to pull the trigger. It comes with a bevy of chrome and options. Some IDK, if I would have thought of... Stay in touch stranger
  6. Sorry to be late on the band wagon.... HAPPY BIRTHDAY DON!!!!!!!!!!! :cool10::cool10:
  7. Both of us can take jokes just fine. My brother is much more refined than I am...
  8. Puc: I'll have you know, not only am I NOT a traitor, but all I need to do is call my Tennessee Mom (Patti) and tell her you're picking on me. Your parking spot will be out at the road!!! Also, another known fact...I am such a traitor, that I have added my NYC brother to the list of venture owners, so it's still in the family..... So there...:happy-emoticon:
  9. Thank you Wade, that is very nice of you. I have no intent on leaving the site. As for my posts, being valuable....eh, ...ok. HA ha... While I have the GW, don't think I am just forgetting the venture. That's what led me here. And, not every bike is for everyone. I have a learning curve, but I will always appreciate the site, it's members and the bike that brought and keeps me here
  10. Just a reminder Mike, last year I was parked 4th, which was in front and on top! If I recall correctly, I was front and center for all to drool... This years she's better because of diamond cut, and your excellent tutoring of those LED country lights.... You'll see her at the IR....
  11. Buddy, You, Peg and the bike look great. That's a nice shot of the family....
  12. Mike, I want to but can not. One of my coworkers' wives is schedule to have a baby this week or they will induce. He has priority to take the time off first. Sucks yes. As of now, no. Never say never...
  13. That's a good one. Not quite like that, but may feel like that, because it is way different than my other bikes.
  14. Well that is awesome news. I probably have 5-8 pounds of yours with me...text me towards end of week. I'm going riding Saturday morning
  15. Tell us Dan how you REALLY feel??
  16. Looks like we both need to get on the seat, Brian. I have been riding to and from work, but been in lockdown last 3 weeks... Maybe Saturday morning? Back to websites diner??????
  17. Ok... Some of you may have remembered some 6-8 months ago, I was close to busting a Goldwing and trading in the RSV. At that time, and with some opinions and insights from those I am comfortable with on the site, and my beautiful wife, I elected to not buy. I did not regret the decision, as the RSV took me through many states, showed me towns and places I never knew! successfully handled the tail of the dragon!Vogel! but most and more importantly, meeting the best group of people bar none. And I'm not just saying that. I feel so honored to be part of this group, you have no idea. I would have never thought I would be surrounded with so much love, companionship and friendship from strangers, just because of a venture... My New York brother, Sunn, who will be at the IR with me was bitten last year with the MC bug. He has been eyeballing the nomad, the voyager and the venture. With some issues with people and bikes, he said no to the nomad. The voyager, I steered him away because of the legendary engine heat issues they fail to fix. So....it's the venture. And he and I are looking long and hard, mid nights, white, black, RSTD, etc. has me riding all over the state looking... I noticed a GW, from online that piqued my interest. Original owner, older gentleman who has owned 7 before his current one. One thing leads to another and.... I am a GW owner!!!! Sunn, who has been hinting about buying my bike, if I wanted. I made it easier, because he paid less than what I would sell to a stranger, but still a nice amount. This allowed me to get a pristine 2008, GW ABS edition with 28000, for a steal. Because of some personal hoopla with in laws and Mother's Day, I get my wing, in about 10 days. I have to see if the wing is for me. If it is not, I will sell and head back to venture or for something else. I have to figure it out through experience... So now both he and I have to learn our new bikes. Because he still lives in NY for now, the RSV will still remain with me and I still get to ride her around. I am sure once he gets settled he will be a VR member. He is coming back in June for 3 weeks to take her out and to learn. I have the ride like a pro book and cones, so we will both be working at getting better. Just know that I WANT very much to remain a VR member bc of the people first and foremost. I am a very loyal guy to people who look out for me and shown genuine interest and compassion. That's all of YOU!! Many thanks for helping me with my RSV and my bike will be in excellent hands as far as caring and maintaining her, otherwise I would not sell her to just anyone. He was warned about the top heavy and necessary proper techniques needed to handle her. I tried to get him on something else but he was going to buy a venture anyway, whether I agreed or not. he has to see if the RSV is for him like I do with the wing.... Another chapter and another journey, but I won't do it without you folks....if you don't mind:fingers-crossed-emo
  18. Gotta love Puc!!! He continues to find and post treasures of info.....thanks Puc!!
  19. Congrats Alan!!! Glad we rode together with your older one down at Vogel. Enjoy. Great looking machine
  20. There's an awful lot of motorcycles that need diamond cutting....
  21. Many thoughts and prayers not only to anyone on the site and their families, but to everyone affected.
  22. It seems each one of the replies is good in its own right and some of it is just trial and error. I spent close to 3500 miles last year in hardcore rain, going from state to state(not designed on purpose to ride in torrential downpours). I, myself use the taller clear windshield and have it coated with pledge, then found all-Kleer which I use on windshield. I ride with a full face, and crack it open visor slightly to deny fogging, also keeping goggles, dry. I will try the yellow hunting glasses next time. On the interstate, I stay 5-10 miles below speed limit, depending on where I am at, time in seat, weather conditions. It is important to stay relaxed. I also have on my FROGG TOGGS and use seal skinz gloves OVER my riding gloves. No issues. Boots, I have waxed and they are generally OK. There are times where I am in stretches of road where there is no place to pull over, so that option is out. Bottom line, is to ride your ride. Don't keep up with others if you aren't comfortable doing so. Proper tire inflation, as well as staying away from middle of lane, where oil build up from cars. Back spray stinks, especially from tractors. When interstate riding, at times, pull over at a truck stop or gas staton and clean off the windshield, head lights and visor.
  23. Hey Puc, Happy birthday my friend! Stay well!!
  24. Barrycuda
