  1. We have a few glitches to work out, sorry if this has already been covered. We have a zumo, Q2 multiset, and a 2 iphones and our bikes are a rstd and 1100 v-star. We had no trouble pairing my Q2 with the zumo and then the iphone and the 2nd Q2 with my wifes iphone. If we're out on our own they work flawlessly, great reception to the zumo or phone, we're very pleased. When we're riding together Deb's is clear but can hear my stereo over the q2. Certain songs just have to be loud On my end I hear a lot of wind coming from her system. Enough that it prevents the system from going to standby. Deb's windshield is lower and doesn't have the same protection from the wind as I do. We need to lessen that effect?? Any suggestions? Next the zumo won't give voice commands to the headset when we're together and lastly after a stop and the zumo powers back up we can't talk bike to bike. By fluke we discovered if I try to make a phone call using the zumo and hang up, the intercom then works? We deactivated voice activation on Deb's q2 which allowed the systems to go to standby when there's a break in conversation. It would be nice to get the voice commands and lessen the wind buffeting. We have e-mailed cardo about the wind problem but haven't recieved a reply as of yet. Has anyone had any of these problems? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Mark
  2. I'm not sure I'd it's the same as a rstd, I had the same problem. It turned out to be just a worn bushing on the clutch lever. Mine has a two position switch the second disengages the cruise if you touch the lever. Because the lever wasn't fully releasing the cruise wouldn't engage. Try pushing the clutch lever out before engaging the cruise. Hope it's that simple for you. Mark
  3. When I had the problem and realized it was the craddle. I took it apart in my hotel room. Most of the openings are water proof, they are encased in apoxy, except the xm connection, if I remember right? I did see a slight discoloring on two pins that were side by side, one being the power. The ribbon connected on the inside too the pins was melted at those pins. I just assumed it was from water causing a short between the pins. Or it could be water getting in the craddle from the xm connection, though mine was dry inside. Mark
  4. Its cheap insurance to be sure. If your whole vacation is planned before hand on the gps, to lose it makes things interesting. The battery in the zumo doesn't last long. Maps on the side of the road sucks big time. Mark
  5. Fyi Last summer we toured Vermont. Rain, we got caught several times, cats & dogs. Anyway, my xm stopped working and the unit stopped charging. To make a long story short the connection to the mother board shorted out in the cradle. Water around the pins, I assumed? I called gps city at 5 pm and I recieved a new one by 11 the next morning. So i now take the ice bucket bags they give you in hotel rooms and put it over the whole unit/cradle when caught in the rain. Only problem I've ever had. Love my zumo. Mark
  6. I am concidering buying a Kumho, The darkside is very appealing, traction, cost, and tire life, but, a good friend asked me: If you had an accident with a car tire on your bike, would your insurance cover you? Anyone know? Mark FYI For canadian riders. I made a call to Primmum insurance. Asking about using car tires on a motorcycle. He laughed, "the dark side". He seemed to know all about it! Then said, "this is an unacceptable modification and if you don’t disclose this modification to the insurance company and are involved in an accident your insurance will be void, under material misrepresentation. You will also be tagged and not be able to get insurance for three years". He said most insurance companys will be the same. Please check for yourself.
  7. You want to be able to take the bike off the toy hauler, so you need something that works anywhere. I made a couple of notched wedges to raise the ramp a little, decreasing the angle. Hope this helps
  8. I've been getting 30's from the me880's. I'm not sure if I can explain this properly, but, I have noticed, that on the rear tire the inner tab's start to raise long before the treads are worn. My wife's bike doesn't seem to have the same problem. (same tread pattern) But she and her bike are a lot lighter. So it must be improper pressure?? Any thoughts as to the pressure I should be using? (rstd) Mark

    Thanx

I mentioned I was having a problem with my cruise control, when at the meet and eat in talbot ville last saturday (24th). Great bunch. Sorry, I'm bad with names they will come later. They mentioned the clutch lever. Right on, the second switch was still ingaged. Thanks. Weather held, even got in a small ride. Thanks again Mark
  10. Happy New Year I have a sirrius satellite hooked up to a mini amp on my rstd. My Wife bought me a zumo 550 for Christmas. Question is, If I get the antenna and switch to xm, does the antenna broadcast fm to the radio? Thanx Mark
  11. I wonder if you could modify your sissy bar, which would mean cutting it. But, the bonus would be a removable trunk Mark
