  1. Making our way home. I think it looks pretty good right where it is though. Thanks Brad and Don! http://i470.photobucket.com/albums/rr70/utadventure/502b666b9d22272992929865b1527dc3_zpse9361ccc.jpg
  2. Happy birthday Big Jack
  3. Will do! See you this evening....get some sleep Dave
  4. Don- See you in Cortez!! Dave:322:
  5. It looks fantastic guys. I can hardly wait to meet up with Don this weekend and start it's trip northward! Dave
  6. 87 octane is the recommended fuel. Anything higher is just a waste of money. Dave
  7. When bleeding the rear/front left (pedal) brake. Do the rear, then the left front and then the bleeder valve up by the steering head!
  8. You could make it a plate. Utah doesn't require small trailers to be licensed. You can but not necessary.
  9. I had a similar issue. I taped the float bowls but continued to have overflow issues. I read another thread on the site that suggested a short air blast back through the overflow tube to dislodge anything that might have been stuck. One treatment and never any more problems. Dave
  10. I love mine! The 10 round clips have issues with stovepiping or FTF, including mine. Stick with the 8 round clips if you decide to get a spare. Dave
  11. 1 1/8" socket fits perfectly on the nuts to remove the handlebars and 17mm hex to remove the caps. Got my 17mm hex in a three pack set from Harbor Freight.
  12. Here's a good resource: http://bludolphintravel.com/gmg/marshallmod.htm
  13. To remove the handlebars you need a 12mm to release the crimp bolt, if memory serves me right. To remove the large nut holding them down is 1 1/8" socket. The midpoint nut is a 17mm. Dave
  14. Got some ideas from hubbsfd this morning I'm going to try in the morning. Thanks!
  15. Some of just can't move forward....another even longer story there. PM has been sent. Dave
  16. Me too, me too! 1 - 5" patch, USA Dave
  17. I'm looking for a Novell expert that can help add a drive to an existing RAID5 Array? The story is longer than anyone would want me to add here but I would love the opportunity to talk with anyone that knows how to do this! Dave
  18. Great looking patch.....looking forward the final and cost info! Dave
  19. Glad to hear you have your ride back. Ride it hard! Dave
  20. When it dies and then refuses to restart..... turn the key on....can you hear the fuel pump ticking? It will only do so for a few seconds and then will stop. turn the key off and then back on.....does the fuel pump tick again? If so, your starving for fuel. The fuel system isn't keeping the carb bowls full while you're going. Could be plugged petcock (switch to reserve), bad fuel filter, pump going out, carb problems, etc. Good luck! Dave
  21. Bike B! More things to not work or to go wrong on bike A. Dirty shows his overall care of the bike. Personally, I'm not one for a lot of bling....I have a stock '86 and the closest thing to bling is the dual firestik antennas I changed to. The stock stator in the 1st Gen doesn't have a lot of extra room for extra power needs. Bike A is overpriced, especially with all of the work that is needed. I paid $2,800 bucks for my '86 in 2005 so I would an '89 to be less than that today. Hope it works out for you! Dave
  22. Yesterday I helped Sam work on his Silverwing (when he needed) and decided to see if I could figure out the motorcycle jack in the spare time. We also had my 5 grandsons over while the ladies went to a wedding shower (ages 2 to 10). I undid the screw with the phillips head on it...nothing, empty. Removed the screw with the hex head and got a little bit of fluid. Put both back and decided to try it out. Pumped it and it went up a little and nothing more. Waited a second in between pumps and it would go up each time. Soon the grandson wanted to pump and ride the jack up. Well, something must have been a little plugged inside because after all the boys had a ride and got the pump it up and down a few times, it worked just as it should. Fun and work all at the same time. I feel a little like Tom Sawyer. Dave
  23. Mine has done the same thing. Must be internal to the jack.
  24. Jan does this all the time. Carefully remove the existing zipper and go to the local material store. They'll should be able to match you up with a new one. If you aren't comfortable with sewing in the new one, a local seemstress will do it fairly inexpensively. You've already done the most painful part. Dave
  25. PM SkyDoc 17 (above) and he'll make sure you get what you need! Dave
