  1. Its setting with fresh gas with Berrymans in it now to get a good clean, And I use Marvel Mystery oil in pretty much everything I have. Got into the habit of using Marvel Mystery oil from my Dad he used it in everything from lawn mowers to heavy equipment.
  2. I pulled the plugs last night and put some oil down the cylinders, the old plugs looked good when I took them out. When I got home from work today I put it in gear with out the spark plugs in and turned the motor over by hand until it felt limbered up. Put a battery in it some fresh gas spark plugs back in, once the gas made it threw the carbs it took off and sat and ran:banana: so far no leaks from the carbs and it ran pretty darn good for setting so long, Now that I know that it is going to run, its time to change all of the fluids, get the brakes working and some new tires and take it out for a spin.
  3. It is the 900 with high and low range,
  4. My new Honda, hasn't seen day light since 2002 when it took its last ride to Sturgis, This 1981 Honda 900 Custom belonged to a life long friend and I also thought of him as my second Dad, and he was also our son Oscars foster Grandpa. He passed away February 24th. I am going to miss him a great deal, he guided me threw some ruff spots in life and taught me a lot of how to be a better person in my life. I sure hope that he will be proud of his old 900 when I get it all done, I am sure going to enjoy my time riding it and thinking of him.
  5. Yesterday we had rain, hail, freezing rain and snow, heading over to plow one of my roads, the Town Ship next to us put this sign up. Does this mean that Spring is really going to come.
  6. I got up to 10 degrees this morning, and the same for tonight, and snow for tomorrow. I was working in the shop today with the Venture pointed towards the door and I am pretty sure I seen it give a big shiver when I opened the door to bring in some more fire wood.
  7. Wonder what would happen if we gave that machine of Flyinfool a good drink of antifreeze maybe it would just spit out rain.
  8. Its looking like I have to put the plow on the truck for one last round of snow, Sure wish that door would get shut tight and cut off the Fools fuel to that darn machine of his, This sure makes for a lot of work for us, Have to bring more wood in to stay warm threw these next chilly nights, and a good thing I didn't put the shovel away. It would be nice to go threw one week of the same season other than winter.
  9. I am not on call again until November:banana: so maybe I can spend some more time on here other than quick looks to see whats going on. Come on Spring I am ready for some campfires and some riding. Orlin
  10. Prayers sent
  11. That's a nice looking ride, both of them, I do like the looks of the Stratoliner enjoy the ride. Orlin
  12. It does sound like you need to flush and bleed the clutch, I have had a couple of Ventures develop the same symptoms and that is what needed to be done. And oil on the bolt that you have in the picture, my first thought would also be a leak in the valve cover gasket. and when it warmed up it would appear to look like it would be bubbling up from there because of the heat. 13. Eastman is not far away from our place, I had thought real hard about going and taking a look at it but just not ready for a trike yet, Might not be a bad future investment, see there I go thinking again, that and the 2nd gen is alittle lonely. Have to just say no, sure is hard to sometimes. Orlin
  14. That's a pretty nice looking ride, are you going to bring to Wisconsin for us all to see. Enjoy the new ride.
  15. I see that it has a fairly tall wind shield on it, I had one that I was working on and the owner had the same complaint about speeds of 70 to 80 miles per hour, I went threw everything I could think of, And I changed the windshield out for a shorter stiffer windshield and it was the difference in night and day. Maybe setting in the sun has made the windshield more flexible and when up to those speeds you are getting a flexing in the windshield and it is going back into the handle bars and giving it a unsteady feeling. A set of leveling links is a big improvement, and for slower speeds and town riding and in the curves a 130 front tire. For getting up and running great a new set of spark plugs first thing change the oil and sync the carbs and run some Sea Foam or another that I like is Berrymans its stronger but it doesn't seem to be as hard on the spark plugs. Good luck and enjoy the ride. My 2000 was my best Venture that I have had so far. Orlin
  16. For a real nice finish and sealer I like to use Wizards Power Seal.
  17. Wishing you the best, and you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. Orlin
  18. I use Turtle wax Chrome Polish and Rust remover, and also No7 Chrome and Metal Polish I find works as well. If I have spot where the welds are I will use a small plastic brush a stiff tooth brush will work also to help break up the rust. The pictures I put on was just a fairly quick job because I wanted to show a how good the Turtle wax would do. Big pits or if the chrome has flaked off there isn't much you can do. Orlin
  19. Happy New Year everyone, It got above 10 below 0 so the internet works again 2018 must be off to a good start. Orlin
  20. You and family are in our thoughts and prayers. Orlin and Sharon
  21. I have hauled a few Ventures in the back of pickups and didn't have any problems. But I didn't use ramps to drive up on, I to would find a place to load so it would be as level as I could get to drive it in. Just watch some you tube videos of people loading their cycles in pickups. If you look around you can find some good deals on a 8 or 10 foot trailer. It will take one time of the cycle taking a flop and you maybe getting hurt to make the trailer a cheap investment Orlin
  22. Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas Orlin and Sharon
  23. I hope that someone steps up to the plate, We hosted last year and even with all of the rain and having to change some things around, and missing some riding and getting in some more of the area it was still a good time. Don't be worried about hosting, Keep it simple get some good volunteers and have fun doing it. Where ever it is at I hope that the dates are so that we can go. Orlin
  24. Now that's a cool idea, we would get to take a boat ride across the big pond. I have been wanting to do that again. Orlin
  25. I have noticed the same around here, It must be spreading hope it keeps on spreading, Merry Christmas
