  2. I travel every week for work and use 1 carry-on roller case. I have found that using 'space-bags' or some generic version will save space and protect your clothes. Take an empty on as well and pack the dirty clothes after you've worn them and it keeps them away from the clean clothes. just my
  3. Thank you Owen for remembering them... and for reminding us.
  4. Thanks Annie. Amber (my wife) spends her evenings in her craft room (the most expensive room in the house) since I travel out of state Mon - Fri. She has been making cards and sending them to our troops for several years now. We send them out when she has made enough to fill a Priority Mail box (about 225 - 250 cards / envelopes). A few years ago we asked our tax preparer about deducting the expenses for the materials / postage, but were informed the the IRS says "the US Military is NOT a charitable organization!":bang head: It would have been nice to have the deduction, but that isn't why she does it. If she does sell any, it does help defray some of the costs.
  5. Thanks. She truly has a gift for creating these cards. If someone needs a card for a special occasion, let me know what it is, and she can probably stun you with a terrific card for it.
  6. My wonderful and immensely talented wife, makes greeting cards. I have been after her to make cards that you folks here at VentureRider would appreciate and she did! Since it is getting on towards Father's Day, that is what we started with, but with Don's permission, we'd like to offer these for sale here. Just $3.00 each (free shipping) and you choose the card and then the sentiment you'd like on the inside. We have B-day, Fathers Day, Thank you, and well... look 'em over, you'll get the idea. It isn't that we are trying to be the next Hallmark, but selling a few helps support her mission of sending these to the troops in Iraq & Afghanistan. To date, she has sent nearly 40,000 to the troops, so they have cards to send home.
  7. How to install the Buddy Rich Blue-tooth cable - alternate method... 1. Buy the cable. 2. Drive your bike (don't forget the cable) to Iowa City, IA 3. Knock on Jeff's door with a 12 pack 4. Beg for Jeff to help.

She was standing on a ledge where she was taking a breather during this, her first rock climb. As she rested there, the safety rope snapped against her eye and knocked out her contact lens. 'Great', she thought. 'Here I am on a rock ledge, hundreds of feet from the bottom and hundreds of feet to the top of this cliff, and now my sight is blurry.' She looked and looked, hoping that somehow it had landed on the ledge. But it just wasn't there. She felt the panic rising in her, so she began praying. She prayed for calm, and she prayed that she may find her contact lens. When she got to the top, a friend examined her eye and her clothing for the lens, but it was not to be found. Although she was calm now that she was at the top, she was saddened because she could not clearly see across the range of mountains. She thought of the bible verse 'The eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth.' She thought, 'Lord, You can see all these mountains. You know every stone and leaf, and You know exactly where my contact lens is. Please help me.' Later, when they had hiked down the trail to the bottom of the cliff they met another party of climbers just starting up the face of the cliff. One of them shouted out, 'Hey, you guys! Anybody lose a contact lens?' Well, that would be startling enough, but you know why the climber saw it? An ant was moving slowly across a twig on the face of the rock, carrying it! http://f397.mail.yahoo.com/ya/download?mid=1%5f40731%5fADFqv9EAAE2DS8n68Q2YFnMcXqs&pid=1.4&fid=Inbox&inline=1 The story doesn't end there. Brenda's father is a cartoonist. When she told him the incredible story of the ant, the prayer, and the contact lens, he drew a cartoon of an ant lugging that contact lens with the caption, 'Lord, I don't know why You want me to carry this thing. I can't eat it, and it's awfully heavy. But if this is what You want me to do, I'll carry it for You.' I think it would do all of us some good to say, 'God, I don't know why You want me to carry this load. I can see no good in it and it's awfully heavy. But, if You want me to carry it, I will.' God doesn't call the qualified, He qualifies the called. Yes, I do love GOD. He is my source of existence and my Savior. He keeps me functioning each and every day Without Him, I am nothing, but with Him... I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me. (Phil. 4:13)
  9. If you can find it, Johnson Clean and Shine... about a buck or two a can and it shines up nearly anything on the bike. I also like the Honda product mentioned before. I was told it is basically S100 in a can for alot cheaper.
  10. I have heard many a toast in my years and this Irish toast has been my favorite. "May those that love us, love us. And those that don't love us, May GOD turn their Hearts... And if HE doesn't turn their Hearts, May HE turn their ankles - so we'll know them by their limping!"
  11. Those hillclimbs were at my parents place... that is where I grew up. Who knows, I may have caught you or your bike if you were crazy enough to throw yourself at that hill. I was on the 'hill crew' a number of times.
  12. I can't name the bike but the farm looks familiar. I grew up and spent most of my life outside of Oregon. I lived across the road from the White Pines State Park. Have you ever been to the hill climb out there?
  13. I am an avid reader. One of my favorite stories ever is "Boy's Life" by Robert McCammon I have probably read it 7 or 8 times and enjoy it every time. I have loaned it out and forgotten who I loaned it to, so I have learned to buy it at used bookstores.
  14. Ron... please say you didn't take to the idiot Yamaha dealers in Vegas!! RideNow Powersports are the biggest collection of idiots outside of the US Congress!
  15. .... and how did YOUR team do?? I only saw 2 teams in the NFC Championship game! Besides, ya gotta hand it to a guy that hasn't missed a game in 309 consecutive starts. I am a Packer fan and a Favre fan.
  16. The tab on mine broke off... soooo, with a large washer bent at a 90degree angle and a glob of JB Weld and it's stronger than ever!
  17. 23... I shoulda done better.
  18. You could get there in this one... http://jalopnik.com/5437106/finally-a-sidecar-based-on-an-f4+f-wildcat http://cache.gawker.com/assets/images/12/2009/12/500x_wildcat_sidecar.jpg
  19. The wife and I just got back from seeing "The Blind Side' movie. WOW! What a terrific movie. It has Sandra Bullock and Tim McGraw and a football theme, but it is a story of life and success - not sports. :thumbsup2:
  20. I believe the term is 'a murder of crows'
  21. Some are havin' a tough time with it...
  22. Charlie, don't let 'em give ya a hard time. That is a great looking chub. Seriously... pack it in dry ice and send it on down to Nevada... we ain't got fish like that here. It would look even better on my grill.
  23. Just because ya can... doesn't mean ya should!!
  24. So when you get home, it would be a shame to just park that set-up and leave it to just sit there... wanna loan it out? Great vacation idea though. I try not to be envious but that is sweet.
  25. Anyone interested in going electric??? I just came across this on another site. Kinda cool. http://blog.wired.com/cars/2009/04/zero-takes-elec.html
