  1. The cousins' pathfinder started sputtering and stalling out fri while out running errands. Get it towed home and Mike and Trent started going through it yesterday trying to figure what was wrong. Alaura's stepmom, who previously had all the maintenance done on the pathfinder said the distributor had to be replaced within the last 4yrs. So Mike started looking at the simple stuff, plugs and wires. Well every plug is over torqued and the plugs themselves keep breaking apart as he attempts to back them out. He got the front 3 out (in peices) the 1st one on the back he attempted to remove did the same thing, he's at a loss of how to tackle removing the ones on the back. I'd personally be going car shopping abt now, but they need a car to commute to and from school and work and I won't always be available to take them. Any ideas? Could use a miracle about now. TIA Tricia
  2. My 2 cents here, I'm pregastric bypass now. At 39, I was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. I'm 5'6 and 215lbs (atm). I qualified for gastric bypass in June, the docs immediately put me on the postop diet to assist me losing weight until I have surgery. I lost 15lbs. The key is getting enough protein to stay full. Everyone needs between 60-80grams of protein daily. The body can only absorb 30 grams at a time, so it is best to keep portions small. 2oz of meat, beans, or eggs is abt 10grams. Try adding greek yogurt to your meals, I use it in the place of mayo in my chicken or tuna salad, it also adds protein without all the fat and sugar of other yogurts.
  3. My oldest is 14, the youngest is almost 2, none of my kids live with me, not by my choice either. Currently, I'm taking in 2 homeless cousins (not related to each other, both related to me) because family drama from the girl's mother forced them on the streets, literally, both fulltime college students with nowhere to turn. Alaura still needs to grow up a lot, she acts too much like her mother, who lives for drama, Trent is a good boy who is trying to get an education and get ahead in life. So, here's hoping I make a good impact in their lives.
  4. I'm in the middle of moving and will be back online regularly in a week or so I hope. I should be back around regularly after unpacking, anyone wanna come help me, feel free. Now back to your regularly scheduled programming. Tricia
  5. Same thing here, was going to look for house supplies since we are moving atm.
  6. Does anyone have a trailer and lives in Middle or SW GA that I can borrow for a day, 2 at the most? I need to run to Albany GA and get stuff my college age cousins have in storage there. It's the middle of the semester, and with work schedules and class schedules things are chaotic enough with them moving in with us. Mike and I don't have a trailer to grab a sofa, love seat, end tables, lamps, coffee table, and dining table. And Alaura's mother is unwilling to meet us halfway (expense and time) on getting the stuff here. So everything is left to me to go there and grab everything. It might not be for a week or 2 after I get finished moving. I really appreciate any assistance given.
  7. Mike and I won't be there. I'm in the middle of moving us and 2 cousins into another house (yay me) and probably won't be finished combining households for another week or so. I hope everyone enjoys themselves and take lotsa pics!
  8. If someone doesn't pipe up soon I will ask my husband to comment later today/weekend to attempt to assist you. He has successfully done data recovery on some of our systems over the years.
  9. The concept was an awesome idea, however from a biker's and computer programmer's point of view it's overpriced crap. It's not DOT rated. The visor is cheap with a google glass type insert. And the software from Mike's study isn't robust. His statement was the current release of the helmet is not worth the $1500 investment.
  10. I pop in and read threads but with hunting a new place to live and packing on short notice I'm not commenting like I used to, after I move and get the new house setup and all, All will return close to normal...at least til I have surgery.
  11. I have been taking the month off from the site....so y'all can't blame me for anything!
  12. I really wish Mike andI could go this yr. It is one of our bucket list trips. However between us moving AGAIN and my upcoming surgery I don't think it's possible this yr. Everyone go enjoy for us and hopefully we will see everyone at Vogel next yr.
  13. Wave @ warner robins ga as you drive through, or if you stop to eat in the area I can add more spots at the table. Let me know. Tricia
  14. I really wish Mike and I could go. I used to live near Eureka Springs and loved the area. I hope someday to go back and see all the sights.
  15. When Mike and I bought the caprice in 2002 My FIL gifted us a set of cooper tires. They were rated for 60k and high mph. I don't think they made it half the life they were meant to last and Cooper wouldn't honor the warranty. I had always been told use Goodyear and Michelín tires and we've had better luck on those. My FIL to this day still disagrees. It worse than what oil to use in the bikes here on the forums lol. After that I will never put coopers on another car of mine.
  16. I can't tell if it's akin to a tens unit or not. My chiropractor has been trying to get me to buy an inexpensive tens unit for home for more than a yr now to get some relief with my back between adjustments. My rule of thumb is, if you get relief and it works as stated and causes no harm, who cares if you bought into the product. I got some of those liquid filled insoles last yr and love them. Again, they helped my feet and back.
  17. Rick, Mike and I live in Warner Robins Ga, there's a sofabed here should you need one or just want to stop in for a hot meal.
  18. .... grr no fried foods fer me
  19. Agreed...we never have anything fun here dang it lol
  20. I agree with Condor and the rest about getting well soon. Have you been throughly checked for heart/lung issues? I have had asthma all my life but generally don't needs meds unless I'm sick with bronchitis. I've had every test under the sun for my heart and lungs in the last 14yrs (since I went on disability) and only last yr did I get diagnosed with congestive heart failure from tricuspid regurgitation. And other than needing a valve replacement in a few trs I have no idea what that means for me.
  21. Slightly off subject but looks like I have surgery next month myself, not joint replacement thank goodness. But life-changing gastric bypass. The plan was to have it late sept/oct, but the doc called today and said my tentative surgery date has been moved up due to my family doc unknowingly documenting weightloss counseling since last yr. I need to ask when I can be pillion again. I'm excited! They expect me to be 130-150lbs by this time next yr.
  22. I'm retired on disability so my day starts when da hubby gets up for work then I check my schedule to see if I have doc appts. (This week I had one every day including today) If I don't have appts the housework gets done. Somewhere in there I eat and sip my water. (Practice for my gastric bypass surgery in Oct.) I read the forums and check ebay for parts for the bike and caprice. I stay busy and not busy for now. Soon though I'm house hunting again as our roommate plans to sell the house soon....wish us luck.
  23. I know in Ga you can get a special license for agriculture to protect crops from wildlife. Dad had one to protect his crops from deer, rabbits, etc. Maybe you can get similar for your garden.
  24. Mike and I made it to Hardeeville SC where we are staying for the weekend. Wouldn't know a hurricane went by...Wish everyone in the path to stay safe. Hope it causes little damage and no loss of life.
