In 2010 I buried a good friend that was a lady rider. SUV pulled out in front of her on her way home from work. Her husband knowing I once was a nursing student asked me to read and translate the autopsy report. She wore no protective gear besides her jacket and helmet. Because of her we wear the bohn leg armor and icon field armor vests for chest and back. In Valerie's case it probably wouldn't have helped. She had a very cheap modular helmet that broke on impact. I do need a better leather jacket tho. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk

As one of the ladies who rides pillion I wear the gear. I don't care if I look sexy on the bike or not. If he loses the bike with me on it I may not clear the bike. Better safer than sorry. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
  8. Mike and I are on 840E somwwhere in BFE. We truly and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves this weekend. Thank you for welcoming us into your home this weekend. We hope to do more meet n eats in the future. Mike will work to upload his pics from the weekend later this week. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
  9. Would you believe I have the weirdest cat ever? She loves steak and chicken but will turn up her nose at fish. When we moved in with the roomie I warned him about Shadow being a food stealer. He left some steaks thawing in the kitchen sink one day, she decided she needed a snack and opened the pkg and took one, carried it all the way to her food bowl before realizing it was too big (she likes her meat chopped up) to eat. Needless to say the steak found a home in the trash and I had to grab another one from the store. Taking her would be bad, at 12 yrs old she's still a tiny cat of 7lbs. and with no tail, (she's a bobtail) there's nothing to grab lol. My luck, with all the people she'd just freak out and run.
  10. Monty is right, also like spybot search and destroy myself, ccleaner is good, you just opted in into one of it's sponsored programs. happens to the best of us.
  11. I've had it since yesterday afternoon abt 5pm, weatherman is calling for upwards of 6 inches by tomorrow morning. Again I say, Jeff what the heck did you do?!
  12. When you get to Georgia give all of us a shout. Most are in the Atlanta area. I'm in Central Georgia, am the housewife and can give you a good tour around Macon. If the Allman brothers, Marshall Tucker band, etc are/were your thing I have a few places to show you in my local area. If Air Force Museums are also something you enjoy I have one 3 miles from my house. I'll show you the local fare as far as food goes. I'm the local, my husband is from Connecticut, and I gave him the local tour 13 yrs ago, he decided to stay....must be the food...I swear lol.
  13. He will have room....this trip. Taking the van and towing the bike. We pick up the trailer this afternoon, got a really good friend loaning us his for the weekend. With my back the way it is, Mike didn't want it flaring up riding to and from Don and Patti's so he chose to *hangs head in shame* trailer the bike this trip. Van has a bed and almost all the amenities, save the bathroom. Bad part is the cat wants to go too and there's just no room for her this trip. I'm just glad we get some riding in this weekend, it's been all kinds of crazy since the weather warmed up.
  14. Actually I do have a hairdryer to go with the portable shower stall....along with a hair straightener...gel, hairspray, makeup and other crap lol.

  16. I could do the same, but the hair is unforgiving in that area, always oily and dry shampoo doesn't help at all. And my Mediterranean husband is worse than me lol. Go grab one of those shower bags at walmart, or 2 since you also have a +1. and we'll share.
  17. I have to plug the address into Mike's gps unit tonight. And we still have a few errands needing doing this afternoon. (Need to buy the camp shower tent still) My poor cat is freaking out at the prospect of being home alone with the bully cats all weekend, I think we need an RV so we can take her along lol.
  18. Mike and I have been together since 2001, married since 2003 and had everything thrown at us from the beginning. His parents didn't like me, my family didn't like him (Dad had already passed away and would have warmed up to him) Our "friends" didn't like one of us and often said we shouldn't be together. I was still mentally recovering from an abusive ex so I was often timid and walked on eggshells. I knew Mike was the one, and he knew the same about me. But with all the stresses of all of the above stuff and more I don't post here we were headed for divorce by 2008. We both had to learn to stop fighting the negs we saw in other and build on the positives. By the time Mike had the really bad wreck in 2009 with head injuries we were healing. In 2010 he wanted a motorcycle, something he had shied from previously because he knew his parents would give him a hard time about it. Our friend Howard, gnarly 1%er that he is, was Mike's influence in getting a bike. Mike looks up to him as much as he does with his Dad now. I hope those who have marriage problems can fix them.
  19. Jeff, What the heck did you do? I'm under flood warnings here in Central Georgia! I think Mother Nature is mad at us all for wanting to go to the B2's tomorrow. Well darn it, I'm going! bags are packed, trailer for the bike is ready, tools and such ready to be packed. Plan on rolling out of the driveway @4am and meet Dragonslayer in Chattanooga around 8am. Mike will need a nap when we get to the B2's since he refuses to let me drive the van with the trailer attached and 3am is very early for him.
  20. Does it count if my Dad owned it? I still remember the '67 caddy Daddy bought new, purple with a white ragtop and white interior. I owned an 84 olds firenza, 84 cutlass sierra. Between Mike and I, we own/owned an 84 s10 blazer, 86 s10 blazer, the caprice, 79 f150, g20 chevy van, and the traverse. And of those the caprice is my fav next to Daddy's caddy. And I will take my caprice to that ^%$^%^$%^%*&^( traverse anyday.
  21. I'm glad you got the TCI. I forgot with all the craziness with hubby's college and graduation to ask if it was delivered ok. I wish I knew better how to tell you to install it but I read the forums and bug ppl lol. I just hope it works ok.
  22. Been there and done that Angel, I know you 2 have been having troubles, Wishing you all the best.
  23. Shocking I know. He can do oil changes by himself...that's a feat. I was chillin watching tv while he was supposed to be changing the oil...I hear him scream bloody murder and met him in the downstairs bathroom where he was washing up a bloodied thumb. (he gouged it good trying to remove a hose) That's when I learned he decided to tackle the starter after dropping the oil. Bandaged him back up and sent him back to work. He puttered a bit more before deciding to take me to dinner and a movie. Hopefully he should have it all put together tonight and ready for going to the B2's on Fri.

Is he commenting how much he hates the bike or it's virtues in the pic? lol
  25. Thanks Eddie for explaining why the insurance went up. Btw, if you need an insurance agent and live in Georgia, talk to Eddie. He made getting insurance on the bikes a breeze. Unfortunately, we have the gecko on the cars and after getting the van towed we are not happy with them. GEICO only pays for the 1st 5 miles of a tow. Where we live is 36 miles from work...bill was $160 on delivery. So not good enough imho. I'll be getting something else for emergency roadside.
