  1. Is it possible to remove the rear wheel on a 2nd Gen venture with a side car still attached? If so, what is the procedure?
  2. It added 5 deg of rake. Hannigan manufacture a complete new triple tree, so I still have my origional. Have not really noticed a larger U turn requirement, however the nature of the modification will inherently mean a larger radius for the turn. A small price to pay for easier handling and turning:thumbsup2:
  3. Well I managed a 3 hour ride today before the rain came down. I was very impressed with the way the steering handled with the new triple tree install. I was not fighting with the steering in the corners and was able to use cruise control and steer with my left hand only to ease any cramping in my right hand. Definitely agree with what others have already stated that its like driving a vehicle with power steering after only having non power steering previously.
  4. Ok, comms to side car completed. Heres what I ended up doing. Used a 5 Pin DIN extension from the passenger headset connector to the side car Inserted an EdSet universal Adaptor to the connector in the sidecar Plugged in a set of in-ear earphones with volume control through a boostaroo unit (amplifier) to the universal adaptor 3.5 mm headset input This took care of the sound portion of the communications. For the microphone side (intercom) I purchased a used CB handheld mic and wired it to a 5 pin DIN connector I plugged the Microphone connector into the EdSet Universal adaptor. The only function that my sidecar passenger does not have is CB Transmission although she can hear whats said. The good thing about the Handheld CB mic is that it is not hot all the time, she has to operate the PTT to talk on the intercom. Sound quality and volume are good and this appears to be a good solution for our needs:big-grin-emoticon:
  5. Well the ride home after the tree's were installed was different. I did notice a difference but the rain was coming down so hard that I barely got above 25mph for the complete trip home. I concentrated so hard on the rain issues that I really didn't get a chance to test the new set-up. Going slow was never an issue before the tree's were changed, so I will let you guys know once I can travel some of my more regular roads at my regular speed:thumbsup2:
  6. probably learnt the wrong things and would have needed someone to do the origional install and fix my screwups. It helps when I know my own limitations, give me electronics or electrics any day:Laugh:
  7. Well I'm sitting in a library waiting while my triple tree's are installed. They said about 4-5 hrs. Hopefully the wait will be worth it. Everyone says that my bike and side car will be a lot easier to handle once they are installed. 4 plus hours with nothing to do is pretty boring but its no worth have the wife pick me up and return me later, its a 1 1/2 hr ride and the shop is in a small town
  8. What size is your Kumho:fishin: Some say that might be a leading question but inquiring minds need to know:big-grin-emoticon:
  9. Bikes a 2007 RSV. I ran an extension from the passenger Plug In but this does not give volume control or the CB Radio PTT fascility
  10. I am looking for a simple way to transfer the pillion passenger audio controls remotely to my sidecar (PTT for CB, Volume and Headset connection). Any suggestions welcome Thanks Pete:puzzled:
  11. This one is the LT Model origionally designed for a BMW Motorcycle, however it can mount on almost any bike with the right brackets. The one designed specifically for the GW is a GTL Model:thumbsup2:
  12. Couple more photo's showing Hard Top fitted:thumbsup:
  13. Side car also has a Hard Top not shown in the Pics. I will post some more pics with the hard top fitted later today when I get the chance:big-grin-emoticon:
  14. Finally got the Hannigan LT Sidecar installed. Already done a couple of rides with a pillion and sidecar passenger. I will probably get the raked Triple Tree's installed. Other than the arm strong steering I am really pleased with the set up:big-grin-emoticon:
  15. Thanks steve, that was my intention but just checking the options:thumbsup:
  16. Installing a side car and will probably have triple trees modified to assist with steering effort. What alls involved with removing the triple tree's? Is this a job to tackle myself? I obviously have no idea whats involved as suggested from my first question:doh: Thanks
