Is the wife with you are you soloing it?
  2. Question, I'm sure others are wondering about also is: If one were to attend the international rally this year in Illinois, if, your packing a weapon, ammo and weapon must be in seprate locked boxes, " say your saddlebags". EDIT The only time you can legally move and load such weapon in this state is at a firing range. sorry...Not true... better check with local law enforcement It would seem that if you stop, your no longer protected by federal interstate laws... END EDIT In other words one cannot take weapon into the motel room for protection. so.. just hope for the best?
  3. I also wish to thank our LEOs. I've heard people say when you need one, you can never find one. Perhaps that is due in part to them having to Babysit a small portion of the general population that has never learned to play by the rules. +50 mph over the speed limit??? Cuff him Dano! Go to jail and hopefully you'll get to dine with Tyrone...LOL! If... you want to race someone, a race track or speedway is the place to do it. That way, the only one you're going to hurt, if you loose control, is yourself. All these Mario Andretti, Dale Earnhardt wannabes drafting and cutting corners on our public roads need to grow up... Although it is kind of amusing watching them do it, in a "Here's Your Sign" or "watching a baby do something you know isn't going to work" sort of way.
  4. That's Beautiful! God Bless America!
  5. In some extreeme cases, i've had luck drilling a hole in problem bolt and mig welding the center full. Then weld a washer on and finish it off by welding a nut on top of washer. let cool and 99% of the time it comes right out
  6. I used the access hole and a bent coat hanger and used a flashlight .. I could see how it would be a PIA to install based on Yamahas instructions...LOL
  7. Lookin good Leo! Wish I had pics like that from back in the day! Looked like you were up to something.... LOL
  8. 2) The rubber gaskets on the bottom of the carbs had white crud on them similar to the mineral deposits you might see on a shower head. Not all the way around, but maybe 15-30% depending on the gasket. I used Sea Foam and my finger nail to gently clean it off. Going to order some new gaskets but are such deposits normal? Could it be dried out gasket cement? Are you suppose to use gasket cement on these? Might be oxidation from the ethanol in your gas. The ethanol attracts water and water is highly corrosive to aluminum. It would be powdery white in color. Never heard of putting glue on carb gaskets?
  9. That's great news. Penny and I are praying for a full recovery.
  10. Sounds like something that could be done at MD?
  11. Tear it apart first. if salvageable rebuild... if not, order a new one from Earl...
  12. Guys... the contest is over. B2Mom won. We were trying to figure out, a way to keep her from frying Dons frogs...
  13. Good one! I like jokes you can't see he punchline coming a mile away...
  14. I made a large rack that can hold 45lbs and has LED tailights and license plate holder in the middle. Uses standard 4 wire trailer pigtall.
  15. Only that he shouldn't be blabing it around that he will have food in an emergency. Unless of course he's going to share, voluntarily or not... Which neighbor is it? He better have the water also (amongst other things) see doomsday preppers
  16. Did you have your Venturerider.org flag displayed?
  17. Just Park it in someones driveway you don't really care for. It will work itself out eventually. Seriously though +1 on the drain plug.
  18. Wonder how snake would taste? Perhaps you could have a snake hunt ? Prizes??? Followed by a snake bake?
  19. I'd be getting rid of the snakes. 410 shot gun would be perfect for that. Have a small 2 acre lake and I love this time of year when you can leave the windows open and hear them and the crickets. Especially the bullfrogs, they try to outdo each other. You hear that Patti? The frogs are Off Limits! LOL Now, The POND Monters on the other hand...
  20. Hey Don, I'm thinking there's going to be a lot less Frogs around your place after MD...
  21. "He used no plans and no detailed drawings, but these models are reflective of each full-size machine that he personally worked with over the years." That in itself is a remarkable feat... we could all learn a lesson from him...
  22. Probably take you up on that in a month or so. I'm not a lake fisherman, I like the rivers and streams. Especially the out of the way streams. The only thing stocked around here are warm water streams (good for bass and muski) and lakes. There's nothing like fishing a cold water stream or small river. So... you got the Ruger... Sweeeeet!
  23. ok got the cot narrowed down to this type for a two man tent...(height restrictions) http://thediabeticcamper.blogspot.com/2011/10/backpacking-cot.html now to :mo money:research two man tents...
  24. Ouuuuuuuuuuch!
  25. you can buy small alum frame cots and tents that you can easily carry on a mtn bike. will play a large role in what you pick. You can easily get big bucks into something like this. As I will a only be doing a few times a year... probably go middle of the road. so I'm thinking $300 to $400 for the cot and tent.
