  1. It's 23 degs. this morn By noon high 40's.... So... I'll take a spin just for the braggin rights. Snow in forcast tomorrow and Friday... Yeah! Time to break out the Skis and Snwboard...WaaaaaaHoo!
  2. Yes, I thought of that (not enough pressure/fuel to show up) so I added doing a bypass. Your way is a lot simpler by turning the switch on but not starting... Very good info!....
  3. Unchain that in your house and you'd better be a good carpenter... Reminds me of an ol timey 1921 tommy gun http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thompson_submachine_gun I want one... Auto weapons in the US require federal license...
  4. Problem only when idleing? So if you come in from a ride, park and immediately shut off nothing drips ??? A stuck float would allow gas to floweven when IGN turned off... could try bypassing fuel pump and see if it start to drip (indicating bad or dirty needle valve or bad/ improperly set float). still sounds like dirt issue. Assuming(when completly apart) you carb cleaner sprayed all orifices... applie pressurized air to all orifices, properly set float level, assembled ... Not a bad time to change the fuel filter and clean the line out between carbs and filter with a blast of air. The last thing I do before placing back on bike is to turn carb bank upside down and blow into the fuel hose using your mouth. If the floats are working, it will not let air through. If they are sticking it will save you quite a few hours... Perhaps you have a oring missing behind diaprahm?(it will fall out if not careful) 4 screws on side of carb (no need to take carbs off to check) **** EDIT *** Yes i know this is for vintage pontiac but it deals with the dangers of ethanol fuel, take it for what its worth: http://www.highperformancepontiac.com/tech/hppp_0909_ethanol_fuel_and_vintage_vehicles/photo_09.html ***** End Edit ****
  5. If I had the choice I'd take carbs any day! The average mechanically inclined person with the right info(found here) can tear a set down to the bones and rebuild them, without specialized tools, not so on EFI.
  6. My condolences. We never know how much time we have left...
  7. For those of you that dive, make sure you and those you dive with, have the proper certifications for the dive you are about to take. This was totally preventable and tragic indeed : http://www.weather.com/sports-rec/florida-father-son-die-christmas-cave-diving-excursion-20131227
  8. When my bike starts I turn it and the radio on. Like others have mentioned use channel 19 unless your in a group. You've got more of a chance picking something up on this channel than any other. Set squelch to 20 in high traffic areas so you won't be bombarded with weaker transmissios Set volume to same setting as radio volume(you don't want to get blasted as it takes a second or two to switch to CB volume and it may not be convient to do so) Channel 29 is relatively clear of traffic and i switch to this if i see another Venturerider (pennants/flags help a lot) Channel 26 is yamaha channel. Not much chatter here... MOST IMPORTANTLY.... If you do not have good speakers in your helmet.... You are not going to be able to understand what's being said at highway speeds, and will in effect, render your CB USLESS.
  9. No such a thing as clean coal, but hey, if they quit using it tomorrow, most of this country would be back in the stone age....
  10. filipino... Sorry that was Irish... Happy Christmas to you also!
  11. Hey I got the exact same thing! Did it come in a USPS, if it fits it ships, box? Mine was bursting at the seams. Must have done something right....
  12. I've been helmet mount for 15 years... It's the best pic as you body is a huge shock absorber. Yes you must train yourself not to rubber neck but its easy to do...just move your eyes. the thing about helmet mount is you can board, ski, cycle, horseback, skydive, four wheeling... anything you can think of... I've got an old Panasonic Pvdv mini that i place in a backpack. It came with A REMOTE... the camera plugs into the Panasonic and is only 1"x 2" cylinderical in shape which i have velcroed to my visor. Don't know how a Gopro would look??? they are quite a bit larger??? Have a lot of skiing footage from park city utah and boarding from Snowshoe... Dang... now I'm gonna have to dig it out and see if it still works
  13. I'd like to think He does...
  14. Here's another one: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jlf---13Q0g]Snoopy vs. The Red Baron (Snoopy's Christmas) (CC) - YouTube[/ame]
  15. Well, That pretty much said it all. Merry Christmas, From the Hermsdorfers, Penny, Joe, Annie and Amber. Wishing everyone a safe and Happy New Year. Please, Don't drink and drive... See you next year...
  16. I agree! And I bet if he were here on earth, he would in fact, be a Venture rider... Second gen of course... Happy Birthday to all of ya!
  17. Thanks for all of the replies. Franz Schubert wrote this in 1825 and It's about a young lady calling upon the Virgin Mary "(Ave Maria) in latin" for help. It was sung at Emmas funeral and I can't seem to get it out of my head. Aunt Emma had suffered through multiple strokes over the years and was reduced to laying in a hospital bed. She was a nurse by trade and the absolute kindest sole you could ever meet. My cousin Linda, (her daughter) never waivered and took care of her for +10 years.
  18. That's what I like most about this site. Quit responding to the local papers long ago. No tolerance or civility there at all. To bad our politicians couldn't act like the vast majority on this site.
  19. Thought we were talking about in the United States... Believe I heard we have well over 100,000,000 Christians.... On the other hand, I wouldn't go over to Iraq, Iran or India and expect a Merry Christmas greeting to go over very well either:confused24:. Actually 73-80 percent of Americans identify themselves as Christian... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Religion_in_the_United_States
  20. I think I've meet those two at one of our rallies? That "Glade plug-ups" was hilarious as well...
  21. I actually agree with you on this. Atheists and non-catholics should treat the Dec. 25th like any other work day. As far as getting a day off for their religious holiday, that would be between them and their boss. Guess that leaves the atheists at work... Merry CHRISTmas!
