  1. Probably have to get a universal unit and modify the bracket. This is what I had to do for my wifes 750 Honda.
  2. I have a set. $30 includes shipping. Send me your addy if you want them.
  3. I bought a set of Kuryakan and mounted them to a thin black plastic sheet I picked up at Menards. Made a cardboard template with the windshield removed for screw locations and cut it out with a jig saw, sanded the edges smooth and mounted the pouches to that. I just used longer screws in the windshield. With my dark smoke windshield, you don't see them from the front.
  4. Happy Anniversary Larry and Joyce.
  5. Just go to you local auto paint supplier and ask if the have the machine that analyzes paint. They can just set it on the saddle bag or gas tank and it will give them an accurate mixture code. If you use the paint code from color rite, which is some of THE most expensive paint out there, it probably won't match. You have to take into consideration that the paint has faded, probably a lot. A paint code is not going to account for this. Actually analyzing the paint will get you a better match.
  6. That's a plan!!
  7. Yup, finally going to get this bum knee taken care of. Knife carving is set for April 21st. Had a bit of a scare. Went for my pre-op physical and my ekg shows that I may have had a minor heart attack. Went to my primary care doc and he compared the latest ekg with the one I had 2 years ago. Hardly any difference. Said it was just a minor blip. Nothing to worry abut, so I am cleared for the cutting!! Getting the left knee orthoscoped for torn meniscus. Should be up and riding by middle of next month. Now......to replace that brand new Dekka battery I bought last year that puked out over the winter..........................
  8. We have AAA. Both bikes are less than $1000 a year. Mine is around $450 and my wifes is right around $400. Plus once I put them in storage at the end of the year, I get a rebate, so I think out of pocket on both bikes ends up being in the $700 range.
  9. One on the way down....the other on the way back.
  10. It does not have to have speed. It has the OOOOOOOH factor. And that out weighs any speed factor. I wish it were in MY garage.
  11. When asked that question I just reply "If you have to ask .....you don't understand"
  12. Wishing you both the best. I had a suspicion that this may have been the issue, but then I think of when I came down there last year and picked you up for our Bun Burner ride, I saw how much see took care of you and how worried she was about you going. The woman truelly loves you. I saw it. You are both blessed. Randy Rickard aka rickardracing
  13. I made a custom faceplate and put gauges in it's place.
  14. Cost of paint is mind over matter. If you don't mind , it don't matter. Anything nice is going to cost. Plus to the helmet suggestion, you need to power the paint, so your helmet would need to be wired into the bike. I suppose you could attach a wire to the headset cord, but, it could get bulky. I would assume that you would not want the wires to flex at the helmet or have any movement.
  15. I feel your pain, literally. I a going in April 21st for orthoscopic surgery on my left knee. Torn meniscus on both sides of the knee. Fun, fun, fun.
  16. The Cheiftain is a great bike for solo riding. But for a passenger on a long ride....not so much. No floorboards for the passenger, just pegs. And I think the pegs sit a bit high. No trunk, well......not a usable trunk. The one I saw that was on one, you could maybe put a laptop in it but not much else. It IS a nice bike, but for the money....I would have to go Harley.
  17. My mom passed away this morning at 7:30 am with my dad by her side. I was about 5 minutes too late, but, I am ok with that. I said my good bye a few days ago. It has been a very long two weeks. I want to thank St. Joseph Hospice of Ann Arbor for the wonderful assistance they gave us. They were just a phone call away. I spent a few nights (up all night) tending to her meds while my dad tried to get some rest. My two brothers and sister took turns during the day and night. We really came together. Mom would be proud. She did not suffer, morphine is a wonderful thing. Rest In Peace mom.
  18. Well it is pretty neat, but now I have to say one thing...maybe two. I would assume you have to drill holes through the bed of the truck to mount the system. There goes your warranty on rust through. And second of all.......I do not own a Harley so I do not really need this.
  19. Thank you all for the kind words. I do not think she will be with us too much longer. She is pretty much out of it, heavy morphine. I am having more of a rough time seeing what this is doing to my dad.
  20. That is one sharp ride!! I love the look.
  21. Well, my mom has had a lot of health issues over the past year. She fell last Friday and hit her head pretty good, concussion, lots of blood on the carpet. She has cerosis of the liver from her unwillingness to treat her diabetes. Well, that fall triggered a gamut of more issues. Hospice is coming into my parents condo today to set up a bed and other necessities. He liver has shut down, here kidneys no longer function. This is the end. Water is just building up in her tissue, she is swelling up very quickly putting pressure on her internal organs. It is just a matter of time before there is too much pressure for her lungs or heart to operate. Seeing my dad cry is one thing I cannot handle. This is hard.
  22. Well, the vehicle is in my garage and the V-6 will do me just fine.
  23. DW is just annoying to me anymore. I wish fox sports would replace him. AND quit giving his brother a microphone and camera.
  24. The vehicle was 10 months old. It was not just the handling in the snow. 4 cylinder motor was not peppy enough and now that I have knee problems, I need more leg room. So it had to go. I did consider another set of tires, but at $800 and no guarantee, we decided to go to the bigger/heavier ride.
  25. Contact Larry. He is CarbonOne on here. He makes them for the Second Gens. I have a set on mine. Top notch quality. They do not swing. The arm rest tilts back.
