  1. After the Labor Day weekend. I am going that weekend to see my little grandson! Pretty much any weekend after that. I can ride down to your place and leave from there or we can meet someplace. We need to figure out a route. Do we as a small group want to go northeast, west, south? Matters not to me...........I just want to ride!!
  2. You want to do the 1500 in 36? I am up for it.
  3. Not necessarily. The seal could have just went bad. The spring broke on my wifes 750 shadow. Things do sometimes just fail without cause.
  4. I learned something today.
  5. Don. welcome to the club. I did mine last year. 1065 miles 19 hrs 45 min.
  6. Jay.......I have been wanting to do one, butt (pun intended) no takers so far.
  7. Be it a Yammy, Kawi, Honda, Harley......whatever.....buy what tickles your fancy, not what others say or think.
  8. Good deal. When I find one at the right price, it just may come home with me.
  9. I pulled out of work at Hayes and Common and was sitting in the turn around lane to go south on Hayes and a RSV goes by. I caught up to him at the light, rolled the window down and asked if he was a member here. Yup. But for the life of me I cannot remember his screen name. Mikeanddebb or something like that. Anyone know him? This was in the Warren/Roseville Michigan area.
  10. I thought this was a thread about the rally and not about hunting? I would assume you would want to go to motorcycle rally and go on rides and do other motorcycle related activites not spend a day hunting.
  11. I would be moteling it anyhooo. Wife does not camp. Period.
  12. I don't look through my windshield. Mine is short and I look over it. I don't like to look through a windshield, especially when wet, plus at night when headlights hit mine, it would glare and I could not see. To me, that's a safety issue. But I use Honda spray cleaner/wax on the bike and the shorty windshield. Works really good.
  13. Plug into the power on the fairing unless you have something in there already. I tapped into the spare power line under the seat, ran a line into the fairing and put a power plug inside and wired in a waterproof switch next to the switch for the passing lights. Plugged in the gps and taped it in, ran the cord out and up the handle bars. I turn off the power at the switch when not in use. I have a satellite radio plugged into the power plug on the fairing.
  14. 694 miles for me. We can do that in a day. Maybe plan my Key West trip at the same time for next year. The trip had to be cancelled this year. But I would be able to swing by and hit it either on the way down or on the way back depending on the dates.
  15. When I saw the pics, I was not a fan, then I saw the commercial the other night. I maybe changing my opinion. Brian, keep the Venture and ADD the Indian to the stable!!!
  16. I gotta admit. And I hate to. But that ugly fairing.........is starting to look not so ugly. Does this mean I am converting?
  17. Put it in a USPS if it fits it ships box, package it up really good and take it to the post office and mail the thing. If they ask if there is a firearm in there just say no. You all are making a big deal out of nothing. They are not going to check the box. They are going to put the postage on it once you pay for it and away it goes.
  18. This sounds like a nice alternative to the J&M headsets. Both myself and my wife have had continual problems with those. I may have to take a look at these.
  19. If you ordered the spacers for the bars and have an after market chrome ignition cover, it's going to hit it and buckle it at full lock. Some people don't care/worry about it, but when I put those on mine and it did it, I took them off and sent them back. No use of putting chrome on and then scratching it all up. Kind of defeats the purpose of adding the bling.
  20. I will say that I have a love affair with the circa 2010/2011 Chief Vintage in Wintergreen and Cream. At that time I believe it was around $37k new. I would think that the resale on those bikes is going to tank. Why would someone pay oh, say $30k for a used 2010 or so when they can get a new one for low to mid 20's? Bad news for those owners, BUT, maybe good news for me!!! Maybe a smoking deal on an older one will come up. (waiting)
  21. I would imagine you would not want any prolonged bare skin contact with anything this has been sprayed with. I would not do any clothing other than maybe a rain suit for added protection, but not shirts, pants or shoes. Who knows what that stuff will do to you with prolonged exposure.
  22. B-B-B-But lane splitting is safe. At least that's what others say. As far as the fool that did this...................
  23. No,but I do have to see it when not on the bike AND make payments on it. So for me, I would be interested in the Chief Vintage.
