Thank you for the thoughts and prayers guys! I definitely think they're working! He may be able to go home tomorrow, he even did a little Jig in the hallway yesterday! He's still got a tumor in his abdomen and he's going to have to go through chemo to try and take care of it. Nothing to do now but to give it up to the good lord and hope and pray that the Chemo does its job! Thanks again everybody, you guys make a heck of an extended family!!

Oh man thats terrible! I had no idea. Rest in peace Bongobob. Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family

Stopped at my apartment at about 5pm in Wayne with full intentions to drive back to Omaha that night. Took an hour catnap that ended up being about 4 and a half hours, so yeah... definitely glad I got some sleep!

Well the Whipple went really well. For having it with no prep, and having a perforated bowel he did really damn good! We're praising god that he got through it with no complications! He's on pain meds and already walking around. He's onery as hell as well and the nurse is saying he's about the best post-op Whipple he's ever seen! He's gonna be in here for about another 2 weeks minimum, but should be home before too long! Thank you guys for the thoughts and prayers so far. Its been an extremely tough week for all of us, especially him, but I am SO SO glad that he's okay!

They just took him. I guess we'll know in another 10 hours. Thank you guys, I really appreciate it

Dad went to the Dr. Monday morning and they immediately put him in the ER cuz he was short 2/3 of his blood. They found a mass in his colon that they identified as cancer. Yesterday at around 11 he went in for surgery to remove the colon but they found a bunch more cancer in him so they lifelighted him to Omaha yesterday evening and are going to perform a whipple surgery today. This surgery will take about 10 hours and is very involved and pretty dangerous. Dad has been under for about 18 hours now. He's got blood now and he's strong as an ox but I'm scared guys. Please if you find the time, please just keep him in your thoughts and say a prayer for him. I'll post more as i know more Thanks guys

The disc is slotted and occasionally makes a little noise but I've got no brake drag! I really can't explain the noise

No it doesn't seem to have any more front to back play than ever before. When i had the final drive off everything turned real smooth and there wasn't alot of back and forth play. All the teetj looked good etc. I noticed it was doing it again in Idaho falls so i loosened the final drive again and retightened everything and it took care of it again. No more growl or noise at all. I think i may have shifted something between west Yellowstone and idaho falls because a deer jumped out in front of me and i locked the rear wheel up. Damn near hit him too! But now its absolutely silent and I've got easily another 1000 miles on with no further noise!

Thesw thumbs are covered with blood... bear blood of course lol. Yeah the black hills get nasty this time of year for sure. I can handle it if it's not Sturgis time though. The traffic definitely flows better in the hills! Where u thinking in southern Colorado?

Fluid was fresh 80/90w. I pulled into a Walmart parking lot, loosened the nuts again and now its quiet again. I almost hit a deer this morning, locked up the back wheel. Kind of thinking that sudden stoppage of the rear wheel moved something. And yeah not proud to say i was cussing at people, under my breath of course! People stopped for 2 miles in clutch crawling traffic for a picture of a DAMN buffalo! I can't believe these guys... On the plus side of things my bear count is at 7 now!
-
It is gorgeous with tons to do but you're right about the traffic killing it. Crazy amounts of people who shouldn't be on the road to begin with. It started making the sound again though. Idk i think I'm just gonna keep riding it

Thank you so much! I really appreciate the hell out of that!

Well guys it was my favorite type of fix. A free one. I pulled the rear wheel off, pumpkin off and the drive shaft out of the pumpkin. Everything looked good. I wasn't too excited to try to inspect the ring gear and i read that if you don't torque the pumpkin to the shaft housing just right it can kind of bind up. I put it back on the housing, got the nuts snug then started the bike, put it in gear and let it spin while i tightened them up the rest of the way. Put it all back together and the growl is gone! Thank you guys!
-
Getting a real nasty slow speed rumble that's definitely coming from the pumpkin. I'm gonna start tearing the rear wheel off and hoping that its something simple... Might have to order a new one from Ebay

Id like to apologize to you by the way! We didn't get to the hills till about 4 and i was trying to make it to Gillette that night! I should have messaged ya. As far as the thumb in the eye, maybe i should stab him with a big stick

Maybe if they'd ask nicely!

Hey guys! Having a blast out here. Camped north of sundance the first night and came over the bighorns which in my opinion are absolutely underrated. What a cool, cool ride! I got up to Medicine wheel and got chased west by some nasty weather so i didn't get to do Ten Sleep yet. I camped south of west Yellowstone and uploaded a video on youtube. Here's a link for my morning update

Getting This Tool Kit Together

Well Gentlemen, I think I've got my tools together. Thank you for the help, and sorry for the short Hiatus. Ended up helping a buddy synch his carbs on his shadow (waste of time, need the right fittings) monday, and yesterday I got caught up in a 3 hour job putting up a swing set for my buddy's kids! I've got the new brake pads on now, Gonna bleed the brakes and change the oil and the bike should be good to go! I'm not gonna cut my windscreen down until I get a spare. I end up with someone on the back probably 40% of the time. Some girlfriends, and some just girls that wanna be girlfriends so I'd like to be able to swap them out. As far as that PlastX goes, I'll be picking some of that up for the ride and I've got about 10 microfiber towels I'll be bringing along. @videoarizona that's a good idea to use those kitty litter bags. Wayyy tougher than plastic sacks! I think I'll pick some of those up as well and I need some sandwich bags for some other stuff as well so good call on that. After I get these fluids changed I'll load all the clothes in and I'll be set. Having a hard time sleeping now, I am getting the Jitters... BAD -

Hey either way I appreciate the effort! I get a little click happy too and more often than not I end up not posting "til next time" and then there isn't a next time because i plum forget! How small does that little stove pack down? I've never really considered cooking at the camp site? And as far as that beach side photo goes.... Well theres a well worn spot on the garage floor where the pacing has been non stop, and now I think its gotten a little more worn because of you brother! -

Good call on the zipties and the wire strippers! I'll bring along a 1/4-3/8 drive adapter as well! I've got a hand impact driver, but no adapter for it. I wonder if I can find just the adapter pieces at harbor freight or something. I think impact drivers are around the $40 dollar range. Good call on the clear fuel line. I certainly remember a certain "member" saying they had to pressureize the fuel tank via mouth power to get the bike home! I've always wanted to get a set of those speed wrenches. Now might be the time to do so! And I've got a pretty zazzy little torch I bought from the local Casey's, no LED light on it but I'm picking up a rechargeable headlamp tomorrow! Hands free lighting!!! The ratchet straps will be good for securing the things to the bike, and if I have to remove a rear tire then they'll be great for holding my center stand frontways and not letting the bike drop. I learned the lesson of bringing towels and not using paper a LONG time ago... the hard way lol Actually I'd like to buff my windshield before I go. Anyone have any experience with this? I was thinking just getting a buffing wheel for my dewaldt drill and some aluminum buffing compound and going to town As far as walking around pacing back and forth while checking things over and over on the bike, I guess I'll just have to keep packing and adding stuff in! I know I'll forget something! -
Nope didnt do anything different. Opened the picture in paint, went to resize and made sure the dementions were 1000 by 750. It'd let me upload multiple photos at once then!
