I've got my eye out for an older, low mileage venture. The way I look at it, mechanically the age shouldnt (i hope) effect the engine parts. I think most engine wear is done by miles. That being said though, things like ignition coils and other sensitive electronic dudads would be more effected by age. I guess the valve springs could be effected by age though too. My biggest concern with getting an older Venture would be having an old ignition coil suddenly go out because of how fine the copper is. I havent owned a vehicle less than ten years old though, so my opinion isnt the most educated just blabbing to blab

I just wanted to say thanks again for taking a look at it Red! I gotta tell you guys this man is a class act! Not only did he take a look at it for me, but we also had an excellent conversation t'boot! Not only did we have a chat about the 85 but we went on for over an hour talking about everything from Iron Butt rides to giant stone globes out in the middle of North Dakota to careers no less. I gotta tell yah that Red is a SERIOUS rider! Like i was saying on the phone guys like him and Puc are total inspirations for me to just get out and ride and that the coolest things youll find are almost ALWAYS off the beaten path. Again Puc saves the day with the hyperlinks! Thanks dude! And DJ I dont know the actual names but I broke the "cup" section of the joint clean through. The first ambulance told me my wrist felt fine! They said it would probably heal ok but there would be a little chunk of cartalidge that would stick out and constantly be irritated by the ball in my hand. Ive been told by many folks, including folks on this site that breaking a bone in your wrist can be very complicated. It seems simple enough but I guess us humans have some complicated du dads in our hands and wrists. Thats unfortunate youre still in pain and never quite healed right I'm sorry to hear that. I bet they could always re-break it! I'm fortunate enough that my job offers short term disability leave and I think if I refused PT they wont pay me anymore. I figure I better not argue with that, but it really helps make a man appreciate his job more. And puc I'll make you a deal. I'll send you my high tech, hospital grade, neck bearing wrench if you will give me some pointers on CTFWing. I still have an 11 day trip planned for out west this year!!!
