  1. I've never had the pleasure of riding an actual CB anything. The closest thing I can compare it to was my 77 kz650 and I always thought that bike with its banana seat was a pretty cozy ride
  2. I sat on one of those the other day. Its a throwback, but they definitely dont want you do any touring on it as it is NOT a comfy bike!
  3. I always thought the stock pipes sounded perfect on my 99.
  4. Find any good jobs out there let me know!
  5. How much do you have to get for it? I pmd you but I don't know if it sent
  6. Ahh jeeze man, I'm sorry to hear that. I really hope everything turns out alright for your family. They're be plenty of more time for vacation. I should really change some of my living habits as well.... Prayers up for you, your wife, and your father! Enjoy your week off as much as you can!
  7. So I was looking over some advertisements on google images and followed a link that brought me back here. It was BlueSkys post about his "like new 89 venture" that he found! Thought that was pretty neat especially since he's still a member. Hows it going bluesky!? Still have that bike?
  8. I've been on the fence about whether I should get my concealed carry permit or not. The main reason I haven't done so yet is because If I'm riding i usually dont like to research which state has or doesnt have concealed carry laws. I would hate to get picked up and arrested for wandering into the wrong state with my handgun. If it was legal in every state to carry, you bet I would, but I REALLY would hate to get picked up on a technicality for just trying to protect myself. As far as open carrying goes, I'd probably just keep it concealed. Like coach Klein says on The Waterboy; What mama dont know wont hurt her!
  9. I remember being born with my very first bike. My older brother was about 7 when I was born and dad had an 81 Yamaha 80cc enduro that he had learned to ride on. When I was finally old enough to touch the ground, that bike became mine. Dad used to set up ramps for my brother and take him out alot, but by the time I was old enough to ride dad was 46 and the cop in town. That meant that my riding mostly involved figure 8s and big fast circles in our back yard. We had that bike all the way up until a month ago when my brother sold it for 500. I dont have a picture of it right now, but I can find one of my brother and I on our dirt bikes later. Heres a picture of one like it. But in alot better shape! After I got closer to riding age (14) dad and I found a really sweet Kawasaki KZ650 that I fell in love with. It was a hell of a lot different than riding that 80CC yamaha all those years. I rode that bike to the new hampton IA rally once and I just generally rode that bike all over. I got my motorcycle learners permit when I was 15 so I did alot of goldwing following on that bike! I really thought that this was about the perfect motorcycle. Plenty of power, light enough to man handle and I still think its one of the sexiest bikes on the street. It started having engine problems so I eventually sold it too
  10. We were window shopping yesterday, noticed those have a solid fairing. I thought that was pretty cool. I know nothing about them Puc but I gotta throw in my clueless twoless cents

  16. Do you guys think the front springs can wait until this winter? I've had my fill of working on the bikes this winter! I know its kind of a safety issue. Also will the CLASS work with progressives?
  17. You think Yamaha might take the venture in this direction?
  18. I thought that WAS regular maintenance on a hardly?
  19. I loved mine too. I put so much work in it I was really hoping to go a hundred thousand more miles on it
  20. You can add me too Brake Pad!
  21. Hey guys, So I think I found my next bike. Its gonna be a 1989 Yamaha Venture Royale with that beautiful 2 tone dark cherry paint job. It has 22k miles and the person I'm buying it from is the second owner. He's owned it for 7 years in those 7 years he's put on about 5 thousand miles. It runs good, its never been dropped, and its always been garage kept. It looks like a sweet bike. I'm just looking for a little guidance on things I can do to make her last me the summer before I do the REAL maintenance stuff. I'm looking for things like changing the clutch/brake fluid which I'll do. She's gonna get quite a bit of seafoam in those first thousand miles. This bike is pristine So i'd rather not take it apart if I can help it!
  22. Its when you get the playful nicknames that you KNOW you fit right in! Congratulations on her being your Fiance By the way! I hope you guys have many happy years and MANY happy miles!
  23. I've actually got a post with my xrays on here somewhere. Broke a couple bones in my wrist, and alot of bleeding in my elbow. That was January 28th and I honestly couldnt feel better. As for the Royal Star, no I'm not going to get one of those again... I'm going to get an 89 Venture Royale I really cant see myself owning anything other than a venture at the moment. I figure I'll make the bank happier with a cheaper bike and I think I prefer the solid mount fairing a little more than the Batwing.
  24. You guys sure know how to make somebody feel welcome! So is a Freebird MD when we all gather around and watch @Freebird do his yearly ground up rebuild of that Hardly? :witch_brew:
