  1. I know the pain. Prayers for you and yours.
  2. I was a little afraid to click on this post.
  3. Prayers up for you Dan. Here's to a speedy recovery.
  4. We've been wanting to go to Freebirds ever since joining this board back in 09 but my vacation never matches up with the dates. Next year I will more than likely be on permanent vacation. Then Ya'll better watch out.
  5. Thats where I put my I-Pod. A piece of stick on velcro on the back of the I-Pod and one on the dash above the player door hole it in place.
  6. I'd like to meet him.
  7. We'll be ariving in Robbinsville and meeting up with Kensattitude May 22nd and heading home on the 24th. Maybe we can meet up with you too.
  8. NC143 & Tn165 is the Cherohala Skyway. It runs off of 129 in Robbinsville NC. GREAT ride. 165 runs into 68 in Telico plains. Take it south to Duck Town and go west on 64 to highway 30 north then take a right on 315 back to Telico Plains. Get back on 165 for a short piece, probably less than a mile the left on 360. 360 will dump you out on US 411. Go north on 411 till you go over the lake then turn right on 72. 72 will bring you out on 129 north of the dragon. This is probably a 200 mile loop of some great riding. Robbinsville is a great place to make your base camp. 294 is a good road. Fairly tame for the area its in. If your a Christian, make sure you check out Fields of the wood. http://fieldsofthewoodbiblepark.com/ This is my playground. Lots of great roads in the area. You may want to check out some of the north Ga. roads on your way up. We have some great ons that are on your way. Try to ride the dragon early in the morning (07:00 - 08:00) before it gets busy. Its alot safer then.
  9. Shirley and I would like to express our thanks for all the prayers. They really do help. We would also like to give a special thanks to those who contributed to the fund to help bring James home. We would have had to take out a loan otherwise and neither of us are in the right frame of mind to be dealing with the bank right now. It’s bad enough to lose a child, but this has been especially difficult do to the fact he is in China and they were in no hurry to send him home or tell us what happened, and there was nothing we could do about it. We now know it was a heart attack and they are finally putting him on a plane Friday, He will be home Saturday so we will be able to put him to rest and start trying to get ourselves back to some sort of normalcy. Thank you again for the help. Both spiritually and financially. I can’t begin to tell you how much it means to us.
  10. It doesn't mater how you build it. A direct hit WILL destroy it. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/44/FEMA_Aerial_view_of_May_20,_2013_Moore,_Oklahoma_tornado_damage.jpg
  11. Thanks all. We are still unable to bring James home and still don't know the cause of death. The police wont release the body or any info untill the investigation is done. The wait is killing us. Please continue to keep us in your prayers.
  12. Thanks to all. Still trying to get James home. Still don't know cause of death. Getting answers from China is VERY difficult.
  13. We're still trying to get our son home from China. Any help would be greatly appreciated. http://www.gofundme.com/owjhek
  14. My step son left here on March 2nd to take a teaching job in China. The embasy called Saturday night 3/14 and informed us he was found dead in his room. We don't know what happend, waiting on autopsy and trying to get him home. Please include him and my family in your prayers. Thank you.
  15. That pic is enough to cause nightmares. LOL Can't wait till the next one.
  16. Sunday sure looks like it's going to be nice. There has been enough rain that the salt and gravel should be clear on the mountain passes. I think we're going to find out. If anybody wants to come along, your more than welcome.
  17. I usually don't "PLAN" trips other than what to take along. It seems the majority of the time I end up in the mountains somewhere. After retirement (come on January) I PLAN on seeing how many states I can visit before running out of money.
  18. I predict tears, hugs, smiles and laughter.
  19. Wow! 16 was 45 years ago! So much GREAT music from that era it's hard to pick any one song. I've all ways had an appreciation for and enjoy most types of music but the rock-n-roll of the 60s & 70s has allways been, and still is, my choice.
  20. We'll add you to our prayer list Don. I hope which ever decision you make is the right one, but I'm a big fan of spending all the time I can with the ones I love. Hard to do that when your on the road all the time.
  21. I'm glad your wife is feeling more comfortable about this trip. Theres not alot I can say that hasn't already been said except that the BRP is mine and Shirleys absolute favorite ride. We ride at least part of it every year and have done the whole thing including Skyline Drive several times. There are motels and eats off most every exit. I like to fuel up every time I exit. Maybe we'll see you up there.
  22. It seems someone down here ordered some of that stuff (86er maybe) Supposed to be here around noon. We don't have a very good record of handling that stuff. We don't get near as much practice as you guys up north.
  23. When I was younger I really liked to hear finely tuned engins being wound up. Had expansion chambers on my 2 strokes and straight pipes on my 4 strokes I guess I've soured as I've aged and now find all the noise irritating.
  24. I wasn't suggesting you should have gone with a Hannigan. Just that I'm having a blast on mine, hope you like yours as much as I do mine.
  25. SWEET! First trike? Hope you like it as much as I like my Hannigan.
